You will lead CFAB’s programme of campaigns, research and advocacy. You will raise awareness of our work to protect children who are separated from their families across international borders by developing key relationships with Government departments, drafting policy briefings, developing campaigns and leading on our public affairs work. You also will produce newsletters, create compelling content for our social media channels, maintain our website and promote our campaigns to key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

Policy

• Draft policy positions, briefings and internal and external reports as appropriate.

You will advise members of the RAF family on the financial assistance and support services available through the RAF Benevolent Fund, guiding them on how to access these resources when needed.

The successful candidate will be proactive, with experience of working with people in a supportive capacity. They must be able to engage sensitively and professionally with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. A solid level of administrative experience is essential, ideally gained within a welfare or support-focused environment, along with confidence in using CRM IT systems.

Purpose of the Role

The postholder will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred In-Work Support to Disabled employees and their employers. Main Responsibilities

• Chase, read, action, and securely store all feedback forms.
• Share relevant feedback and service updates with line manager in a timely manner.

Recruitment Administration

• Support the recruitment process by being part of the interview panel, chasing references, scanning and storing key documents, and completing necessary online checks.
• Monitor and record completion of mandatory online training for new and existing staff.

Events and Communications

• Support the organisation and delivery of three annual staff events, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
• Create a fortnightly newsletter with updates, stories, and resources related to In-Work Support from feedback and visits.

A core position within the National Year of Reading Team, this is such an exciting role for someone whose skills include creativity, strategic planning and delivery, as well as high level relationship management ability.

Within your role you will build and deliver a range of public facing partnerships designed to bring the National Year of Reading to life within key audiences across the UK, driving both awareness and behaviour change. You will build on the existing foundations of the campaign plan to conceive and deliver a series of partnerships - with media owners, brands and others - which have a focus on public-facing activations designed to make the National Year of Reading memorable and impactful, and to and ensure it resonates across society.

National Year of Reading, Brand and Media Partnerships Lead

Contract: one year fixed term contract from early 2026
Salary: £60,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid role between home and London office, where you will be able to work regularly from home around the requirements of your role for in person meetings or travel.
