Supporting young people
You'll deliver our programmes and work one-to-one with care-experienced young people across London. You'll manage a caseload of young people and be a positive role model to those you're supporting.
Working with delivery partners
You’ll be working closely with our delivery partners to ensure the young people are getting the best support out there. Whether that’s liaising with social landlords or local debt advice charities.
Collecting crucial impact data and evidencing impact
You’ll be meticulous in ensuring you collect and report high quality data, understanding that this information is crucial to demonstrating our impact to funders and clients. You’ll ensure your notes and our databases are up to date with accurate information.

Job Purpose
This role is within our crisis alternative service Safe Space - an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm (midday) - 11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The role will consist of two shift patterns to ensure the service is covered: 11:30am-6:30pm and 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
- To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
- To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
- To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
The Role
The role of the support workers will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one and group basis. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing.

Night Support Workers enable our young people with particular needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community. Night Support Workers are responsible for ensuring continuity of support at night, for keeping our young people and buildings safe and ensuring seamless support is provided with the support team / services.
Horn Lane service is for young people aged between 16 and 21. We are a dynamic and caring team and we are Ofsted registered. Horn Lane is a 24/7 service. We operate on a 8-week rolling rota, which involves 4 nights on and 4 nights off; this equates to a 40hr week. Shifts are 11hrs, 9.30pm to 8.30am. This is a waking night support worker role, with no sleep ins.

What you'll do:
Building supportive, trusting relationships with our young people and creating a positive atmosphere.
Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and fulfil all administrative responsibilities.

The position is exclusively night shift working, 8.30pm to 8.30am, with one other colleague, 3 nights per week, with occasional weekend working.

Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker.

Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs including support needs and daily living skills. This would include potential risks and an assessment of the customers independent living skills as a whole.
The initial and co-produced assessment will incorporate models of co-production, observation, and person-centred planning. This is with a view that it is solution focused as to provide a framework for progression towards independent living.

Empower customers to be part of the local community and active participants in the local community as part of a Recovery Capital model.

About the Service
Solace provides safe refuge and move on accommodation to hundreds of women and children made homeless through domestic or sexual abuse. We run 22 refuges across London, including specialist refuge spaces for women with multiple needs. Of these, this role will involve working across three refuges in the borough of Haringey, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About the Role
The primary role of a Family Support Worker is to provide effective, efficient, and supportive service to children and their mothers residing in refuge with Solace Women’s Aid. The staff member will lead on the development of a child and family-centred approach to work in the refuge. In so doing, they will:
- Develop and deliver a range of trauma-informed services to children and young people (0-17 years) and their mothers within the refuge and when they are resettled into the community.
- Ensure ongoing development of age-appropriate children’s activities.
- Ensure the completion of comprehensive assessments of family needs and risk of families, ensuring an integrated approach with children and adult services (internal and external)
- Promote ‘Integrated Working’ through internal and external mechanisms in partnership with colleagues and community partnerships.

Crisis Skylight Croydon offers IAG, 1-1 coaching and practical support to people who are experiencing homelessness in Croydon and the neighbouring boroughs. About the role
As Health Advocacy Worker , you will provide high-quality support to people experiencing homelessness in Croydon. You will support Skylight members as well as residents of local supported and temporary accommodation to register with the appropriate health services and attend health appointments. You will regularly visit local hostels and accompany your clients to their health appointments.
You will hold sensitive conversations about health needs, reasons why someone might have struggled to access health services in the past and what concerns they may currently have. You will provide IAG, support and encouragement to help build your clients’ confidence so that they continue accessing health services independently in the future when your support comes to an end.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of the challenges that people who experience homelessness might face when trying to access health services. You have experience supporting people with multiple needs including mental health, physical health and substance misuse difficulties, a history of multiple exclusion and social isolation. You have worked within a relevant sector which could include homelessness, asylum seeker or health services. You are confident working independently in the community and are willing and able to travel to meet your clients and potential clients around Croydon.

About the role:
The Non-Crimes Assessment Worker will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. They will work within the team to make proactive contact attempts with a high volume of new referrals. Their main focus will be contacting the police cases that may otherwise not get referred into the service. Once this contact is established complete initial needs and risk assessments. They shall provide initial advice and crisis safety planning before the case is allocated to an IDVA/caseworker or referred to the appropriate partner agency for ongoing support. They will provide this high quality support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from the age of 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice, civil remedies, housing and related matters.
About You:
You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and children. Be skilled in risk management and safety planning and is experienced in domestic violence advocacy, who has worked with a high volume of clients who have complex and multiple needs. You will have a countenance that remains calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis and you will have experience working within safeguarding procedures.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and passionate support worker to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Housing Support Practitioner in our small and dedicated team. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with the Council’s housing officers, solicitors, community services, social prescribers, and mental health support workers to coordinate tailored support for each client to avoid eviction and sustain tenancies, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing advice for onward housing when needed with the support of the Housing Link Worker.
