We run projects which encompass personal, social development and life skills. Our flagship mentoring scheme includes one-to-one and small group sessions. The focus is on the outcome, but also on the journey. In addition we collaborate with Caius House to deliver their after-school programme.

Main aim of the role: 

Playing a vital role within our expanding youth support team at Future Skills, you will work to support and empower our young people to re-engage and return to education and employment. You will be creating structured lesson plans to deliver high quality soft skills sessions. You will be proactive and get involved with the pupil’s daily activities, promoting teamwork and setting a good example. You will also build positive relationships with the young people, fellow professionals, parents and carers as this is key to this role.

In addition to that, you will work with the team here at Caius House to help deliver an after-school programme for young people, usually one evening per week. To this effect, you will work with both the FST team and the team on-site at Caius House.

The post holder will be responsible for: 

• Working with colleagues to develop a soft skills curriculum for our group and one to one sessions.

• Actively participating in the sessions we deliver including off-site trips and sporting activities.

• Undertaking one-to-one and small group mentoring with vulnerable and at-risk young people aged 8-16 years old.

• Working with the FST team delivering personal and social development workshops with excluded young people, encouraging them to engage and develop and challenging negative behaviours.

• Building relationships and regularly communicating with parents/carers and professionals.

• Building positive relationships with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, inspiring and motivating them, acting as a positive role model at all times.

• Bringing passion, ideas, creativity, energy and strategies to all projects.

• Demonstrating understanding of the issues faced by children and young people.

• Keeping accurate records of attendance and session evaluations using our online database system.

• Having an active role in our regular team meetings.

• Complying with the organisational requirements for health and safety, child protection, safeguarding and other policies and procedures.

 

The post holder should possess:
 

• Previous experience of working with vulnerable, at risk and disengaged children and young people

Youth Outreach and Engagement Worker

The role:

Delivering targeted street work and outreach across the borough of Tower Hamlets. Who we are looking for:

Along with a relevant qualification up to at least Level 2, you will have robust frontline experience working with young people, including experience of detached outreach work with young people. We are currently seeking dynamic Practitioners to join our Children & Young People’s service (CYPS), working directly with young people affected by domestic abuse.

Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP), a division of Richmond Fellowship since 2018, has been a leading provider of Respect accredited community perpetrator programmes working to stop domestic violence, increase safety for women and children, and reduce harm to families for over 29 years.

This role requires a good understanding of adolescent development, domestic abuse, child abuse and trauma, and the impacts of these on young people’s development, as well as a good understanding of the nature of domestic violence and its effects on women and children, and on the parent-child relationship. You will have experience of direct work with young people and their parents/carers, working flexibly but robustly and supportively, responding to challenging or harmful behaviour to facilitate change. You will have experience of providing structured one-to-one and/or group work counselling or behavioural change interventions, and of working with both children and adults from diverse backgrounds. You will have an excellent understanding of safeguarding procedures and be confident working both independently and as part of a team, working closely and collaboratively alongside partner agencies such as Children’s Services, Schools and Youth Offending Services.

You will have the opportunity to play a key role in developing DVIP’s young people’s services, working in partnerships with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver effective community responses to domestic violence, in line with RESPECT practice standards. Day to day, you will be working flexibly across a number of locations, including providing outreach in schools and other relevant or referring services, managing referrals, assessing risk and suitability for therapeutic intervention, and engaging families.

In this rewarding role you will be working directly with young people and their parents/carers, delivering structured interventions to increase safety, as well as providing specialist support to other professionals working with families experiencing abuse, through provision of expert consultations and training.

You will be able to work independently and flexibly, including some early evenings if needed, within any London Borough, where DVIP is contracted, for part of the working week. You will be comfortable managing your own workload and related admin, and you will be able to communicate clearly with a range of people about sensitive and complex issues, including the writing of professional reports.

This is a permanent full time role requiring the post-holder to work 37.5 hours a week.

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. Summary of Role

Working under the direction of our Centre Managers at Arc in the Park and Abbey Hub, Support Workers are key to ensuring the successful delivery of our provision for children and young people. Working with children and young people on and one to one basis and in group settings, the role will support the delivery of our play and youth projects and activities to aid their development and will include providing support to young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities.

Responsibilities

·Providing for the social, personal, educational and leisure needs of children and young people (including those with additional needs) by assisting in the running, organisation and delivery of particular projects.

·Establishing positive relationships with all children and young people supporting and enabling them to increase their confidence and realise their potential, fully integrating them into all project activities. 

·Coordinating resources and to develop opportunities for children and young people which reflects their particular needs and circumstances. 

·Facilitating the active involvement of the children and young people in the planning anddevelopment of the project programme. 

·Facilitating the positive integration of children and young people with disabilities, behavioural difficulties and/or additional needs within the project. 

·Providing for the personal care needs of the children and young people as required including toileting, changing and feeding. 

·Supporting and guiding volunteers, trainees and junior leaders in all of the above, as required. 

·Working as a member of the AAA team to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and young people being supervised including day to day 'housekeeping' of the site and maintenance of equipment. 

·Liaising with parents, carers and other organisations and professionals as required.

·Adapting activities to meet a child's/young person’s needs as appropriate. 

·Carrying out health and safety inspections as required. 

·Adhering to AAA policies and procedures in respect of safeguarding children and young people.

·Administering medication and/or carry out tube feeding as required, if appropriate training successfully completed.

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our Reading Team.

Reporting to the Family Support Manager and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life threatening or terminal illness.

We are opening two new supported housing schemes in Lambeth, which will be Ofsted registered. Both schemes are part of our well-established Young Persons and Complex Needs service in London and will provide temporary housing for young people aged 16-17 who are experiencing homelessness. 

A bit about the role:

As a Caseworker, you will be working with a team of highly motivated, compassionate, and dedicated colleagues supporting a caseload of young customers with complex needs. You’ll need to meet each customer weekly to help them with their goals and discuss their progress. And, when someone’s ready to move on, we'll rely on you to help them access the housing register or look for suitable rented accommodation.

What we’re looking for:

You may have worked with vulnerable young people in a paid or voluntary capacity, maybe as a Youth Worker or in an education setting providing pastoral care. You’re a great relationship builder, who can create trust so that our young people feel comfortable sharing their issues with you, you listen but in a non-judgemental way and you are able to spot signs for concern and act on them. Teresa House and Hamlets Way are two supported housing accommodations for adults with enduring mental health issues. Both services provide a high level of support to 16 customers on each service. Teresa House is a fast stream service where customers are supported up to two years while Hamlets Way is a slow stream service where customers can expect support for a minimum of two to a maximum of 4 years.
The service is under Look Ahead management since April 2015 and the buildings are owed by Notting Hill Genesis. As a support worker you will play an integral role in developing effective support and risk management plans. You will also support customers with aspects of their day-to-day living including but not excluded to; social and physical activities, medication, benefit entitlements, maintaining living standards, exploring employment, education and training opportunities.

What you'll do:

- To work on a rota based shift pattern which includes working early (8-4pm) and late (2-10pm) shifts 5 days a week.

Initially you will be working remotely via home-based working whilst elop relocates its offices & centre transitioning back to fulltime in-person working & service provision during 2024.  Some services are in person in East London.

About the Role

1 in 10 children in the UK have serious emotional and behavioural difficulties, which place them at further risk of negative outcomes later in life. Chance UK’s mission is to help support them to reduce these difficulties, find and acknowledge their strengths and talents, and to help them flourish. We do this via a structured 1:1 weekly mentoring programme, which matches them with specialist youth workers to mentor them for up to a year, alongside a range of support for their parent/carers.

Our approach is different from other services – we are there with the child and the family to understand what’s important to them, what they need, and give them the support, space and time to ensure the whole family is stronger.
