We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Volunteers to join our new drop in group in Oxford that take place 12.30 - 2.30pm Thursday 1st and 3rd of the month starting 4th Sept . This role is ideal for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact in the community while aining valuable experience.
The Say Aphasia charity provides support groups across the UK for people with aphasia; a language and communication disability caused by a brain injury like a stroke. Aphasia affects over 350,000 people in the UK but is little understood or known about by the public. It is the only aphasia charity set up by people with aphasia for people with aphasia; helping them to adapt to their new way of life and regain their independence and confidence.
Aphasia occurs due to injury to the brain such as a stroke. It affects access to language, resulting in difficulties following conversations, speaking, reading and writing.
Volunteers will support the running of the group with communicating, and will have the opportunity to utilise their communication skills and IT knowledge to take a register of attendance.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and support to individuals, particularly those living with asphasia.
- Assist in organising activities that promote social interaction and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with participants, ensuring their needs are understood and met.
- Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Collaborate with other volunteers to enhance the group.
Qualifications
- An understanding or knowledge in aphasia is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
- Proficiency in IT, including familiarity with common software applications.
- A compassionate and patient attitude towards individuals in need of support.

Role Overview
As a Volunteer Social Media Designer at Barefoot and Free, you will be responsible for creating engaging visual content for our social media platforms. You will work closely with the team to develop visuals that reflect our mission values and ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design social media content for use on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn
- Help maintain a consistent visual identity across all content

What You’ll Bring

We’ve been generously gifted an acre of land at Highlands Park, where we’ll build a new purpose-built facility designed specifically for young adults.

Role: Trustee – Fundraising Specialist
We are looking for a new Trustee with significant fundraising experience to help us grow and diversify our income and contribute to our overall strategic direction.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to use their professional skills to make a lasting impact on vulnerable communities, particularly vulnerable women and children in India.
What we’re looking for
We welcome applications from individuals with fundraising expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Digital Campaigns and Innovation

Fundraising Strategy and Income Development
Trustee Commitment

Board Meetings: 4 per year (weekday evenings, usually online)

Committee Involvement: All trustees join one of our committees (Fundraising, Finance, Programme Management), which meet every 2 months

Events: Attend 1–2 UK-based Adventure Ashram events per year (where possible)

Approximate time commitment: 1–2 hours per week
We also hope that this new trustee would be open to supporting other trustees and staff in developing their fundraising skills to improve internal capabilities.

Volunteer at WWF-UK’s Great Wild Walk
Join us for a day of nature, community, and conservation!
WWF-UK’s Great Wild Walks are inspiring fundraising events set in some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes. As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in making these events a success—supporting walkers, cheering them on, and helping raise crucial funds for WWF’s global conservation work.
Volunteer Roles
Roles are assigned on the day, but here’s what you might be doing:
- Event Village Volunteer: Greet participants, hand out t-shirts and medals, support recycling stations, and help create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Route Marshal: Guide and cheer on walkers along the route, ensuring they stay on track and feel encouraged.
- Back Marker: Walk the full 10-mile route behind the last participants, offering support and removing signage as you go.
What You’ll Receive
- A WWF t-shirt to wear on the day
- Light refreshments
- A full event-day briefing
- Pre-event communications with all the key info
What to Bring
- Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear
- A fully charged mobile phone
