The Ark Gedling is a Christian charity that exists for the prevention and relief of poverty and hardship; it is a UK registered charity and a member of Advice UK. It provides a community café, with a range of activities to support community development and mutual support, which operate in conjunction with advice sessions, so that local people receive expert advice alongside compassionate community support and empowerment. It works in close partnership with other charities and with local churches. We are excited to announce we are recruoting new trustees to support the project into a new phase in our 20-year history.  

We're looking for enthusiastic, creative and organised people across the nation to be a Community Fundraising Volunteer. Around 90 per cent of our income comes from our supporters and we couldn't continue doing what we do without them. That means, our community fundraising volunteers play a really important part in rallying people together to raise vital funds which help to protect children and prevent abuse.

What you'll do:

You'll volunteer without regular time commitments, ‘as and when' volunteering! Engage with the public, organisations and local communities – promoting a positive image of the NSPCC! You'll be a valued part of one of our Volunteer Community Fundraising Teams across the UK, raising awareness and funds. We appreciate that work, family and friends come first and, with that in mind, this role offers flexibility to fit in with your lifestyle. You only need to commit to a couple of hours a month, but if you want to do more that would be great.

What we're looking for:

We are looking for guardians for the next generation, a network of Student Engagement Volunteers who can represent the NSPCC on campus or college. People who believe in the work we do and understand the many struggles the younger generation face on a day to day basis.  

Whether an individual or a group you will be enthusiastic and passionate in helping us fight for every childhood and keeping children safe.

What you'll do:

You will engage your fellow students and wider campus and college by shouting about the vital work that the NSPCC does and the many ways they can support us. Some of the things you could be doing include;

• Promoting NSPCC campaigns around campus
• Organising fundraising events or activities
• Taking part in a Challenge event such as Trek, run or skydive
• Sharing key messaging through social media and your networks
• Encouraging RAGs, groups and societies to fundraise
• Setting up a Student Volunteer Network or Group

This role offers flexibility to fit in with your busy student lifestyle. You only need to commit to a couple of hours a month, but can do more if you would like to.

Role Details: 

Join us for a wonderful evening of music at Ralli Hall in Hove, where the Brighton & Hove Concert Orchestra will perform a programme of film and theatre favourites with their 50-piece orchestra. 

We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help collect donations before and after the concert using both donation buckets and card machines. 

Whether you're looking to support a great cause, meet new people, or gain experience for your CV, we’d love to have you on board. No previous experience is necessary – just a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved. 

Availability: Flexible shifts available between 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM

What we're looking for:

We are looking for enthusiastic people from across the UK who are passionate about helping children and young people feel and be safe in sports and physical activities.

What you'll do:

Represent the Safe in Sport Volunteer Programme at selected events in your locality, where you will make a difference, through sharing our Child Protection in Sport Unit's resources and gathering insights around safeguarding.

• Liaise with the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) to learn about safeguarding in sport and physical activity
• Raise awareness of and signpost to available safeguarding tools and support
• Promote and encourage event attendees to engage with key messages; especially with themes for sport and physical activity participants, their families, and organisers, to help CPSU support them to keep children and young people safe in sport.
• Gather insights from event attendees, e.g. by sharing QR survey links
• Complete a simple event feedback form and return to CPSU
• Promote the wider work of the NSPCC and CPSU at events

What we're looking for:

Our Friends of Cheltenham are a small, passionate team of volunteers who organise a calendar of local events to raise awareness of, and vital funds for, our services for children. We're looking for more members to join our friendly team, have some fun and make a difference for children in Cheltenham and beyond!

Every term we organise events such as Easter craft sessions, Grandparents Day, and a Swap Shop. Our next events are a big fundraiser in Cheltenham for Childhood Day on Saturday 14th June, a ‘Back to School' session for parents in September, and then we'll be gearing up for Christmas! We always need a few extra people to lend a hand – coming up with ideas, promoting our events locally and on social media, organising events, gathering donations, and being there to chat to local families. 

If you can't commit regularly but are happy to be called upon every now and again, that's great too! • Help at our big fundraising events such as Childhood Day and Christmas

You will be representing the charity in a professional manner, and will be regularly updated with key information and opportunities to encourage people to get involved.

Glow Walk returns for 2025, our shiniest event! Participants don their brightest gear, fairy lights and glow sticks and take on our 5km course in aid of Acorns. 

This event is accessible to all and there’s loads of extra fun in the event village.

At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, and our fundraising is vital to enable us to continue providing care and support to the children: it costs around £11 million a year to run our care services.

What's involved?

We are looking for volunteers who can support with;

At present we are working to secure funding that will see us through our first year, and the role of the Social Media and Communications Co-ordinator will play a key role in this.

If you are well versed in social media, have experience or a passion for communicating with wide audiences across pretty much all social media platforms, this is a role for you.

The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.

Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

The NSPCC's mission is to end cruelty to children. In order to carry out its charitable work, the NSPCC relies on the fundraising support of people across the UK for 90% of its annual income. That's why the NSPCC events team put on industry leading events to raise funds and highlight the work that we do

We are looking for enthusiastic and organised people to join our community of event volunteers. We couldn't continue to hold industry leading events without our event volunteers who play an integral part in assisting on the night. The NSPCC events calendar brings together guests from a range of sectors for innovative, luxury and spectacular evenings of entertainment that help to raise vital funds for the NSPCC and Childline.

What you'll be doing:

To work together with the Community Fundraising Manager to co-ordinate new fashion show events in the local community together with like-minded people. 

We have many different roles that you can get stuck in to on the night of the event. The support needed is either event set up during the day or being on hand to greet and support guests over the duration of the evening. Typically, you will be volunteering for 5 hours, usually from 5.30pm to 10.30pm, with breaks and we will provide all food and refreshments.

Volunteers can expect to be:

• selling raffle tickets/ items during the reception
• acting as a table host and encouraging guests to bid in the silent auction and take part in fundraising games and activities.
• Taking part in our live auctions by acting as bid spotters for the auctioneer.

We’re looking for Community Fundraising Volunteers across the UK to help us deliver and collect Marie Curie donation tins in their local area. By using your local knowledge and connections, you’ll help raise vital funds for our nurses and hospice services - right where it matters most.

What you'd be doing:

• Distribute collection boxes in shops, cafés, pubs, gyms, and anywhere people gather.
• Swing by regularly to collect and bank the donations
