We're looking for a Communications and Social Media Manager to lead social media, creative and digital communications at Leeds Beckett University.

This is a pivotal management role in the communications and campaigns team. You will work with colleagues across our service and the wider university to develop and deliver the social media, brand and digital strategy. Your skills will support campaign development and delivery, built around creative content designed to connect with our audiences and strengthen the university brand.

In this role you will plan, manage and deliver a broad programme of creative, digital and social content supporting the university’s strategic priorities. About the role

The Crick Innovation and Business team has been created to establish an expanded translational and commercial offering from the Crick. There are four core functions: Translation & Entrepreneurship, Commercial Portfolio, Business Development and Business Operations.

The Business Development team is responsible for driving the development and execution of the Crick’s translation and commercial activity. This involves identifying partners for different translational and commercial opportunities, negotiating and concluding optimal deals and post-signature management to ensure delivery of such agreements. 

We are seeking a Strategic Business Development Lead (known internally as Senior Business Manager) with demonstrated expertise in innovation, commercialisation, intellectual property (IP), and due diligence to join this team.

Working closely with the Head of Business Development and the Business Development team, you will ensure appropriate identification, negotiation, conclusion and post-signature management of deals that further the Crick strategy, while protecting the charitable objectives.

You will be a commercially driven professional with a strong track record in opportunity assessment, licensing, and contract negotiation within the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors. Highly skilled in stakeholder management across academic and commercial settings, you will be equipped with quantitative capabilities to support financial modelling and commercial evaluations.

You will possess a background in bioscience or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience and be experienced in establishing spin-out companies and partnering in the biomedical field and potentially incubator deals. Crucially you will have a dynamic and proactive energy that truly engages stakeholder and embeds relationships to unlock exciting opportunities.

What you will be doing

As a Strategic Business Development Lead at the Crick, you will:

• Negotiate and secure deals, including undertaking the development and execution of the Crick’s translation and commercial activity
• Deliver market, competitor and financial analyses to support commercialisation of the translational pipeline and development of the overall commercial portfolio
• Provide commercial and translational portfolio analysis (including resourcing and forecasting) across all Business Office team functions
• Produce insight and analysis outputs, including reports, briefings, presentations, recommendations and analytics/data visualisation
• Secure next stage investment for translational projects and spin-outs emerging from Crick research
• Work with the Business Office Operations team to ensure the collection and maintenance of appropriate and accurate commercial data and information

About you

You will have:

• Strong liaison and negotiation skills with the ability to respond appropriately, confidently and sensitively in relation to academic and commercial partners/clients*
• Extensive experience of technology/opportunity assessment, marketing and licensing, as well as legal and technical aspects of contract, collaboration, licensing and corporate agreements.  This needs to be evidenced through a deal sheet.*
• An extensive network in the investment, pharmaceutical and biotech industry, gained through experience of working in or with such sector.*
• Highly organised with comprehensive experience of working in a demanding environment, either academia or industry. Demonstrating the ability to command the confidence of all those reliant on the effective delivery*

*Minimum Requirement

Working with the Director of Research, this role will have management of the clinical development process at Cure Parkinson’s. The charity supports a large treatment selection process that feeds new clinical trials seeking disease modification. This is an exciting time in Parkinson’s research and there is the opportunity to have a really meaningful impact by joining the Cure Parkinson’s team as we expand our funding schemes and initiate new ventures.

As our Clinical Research Manager, you will have a PhD in life sciences (an MD or MBSS would advantageous) and significant experience in clinical trial development. You must have a strong understanding of Parkinson’s, the biology associated with the condition, and the agents currently in development. You will require excellent organisational and communication skills as you will be representing the charity via stakeholder engagement. Working as an effective member of our Research Team you will be able to handle multiple tasks with precision simultaneously and be comfortable building relationships and providing support for researchers.

We are seeking to recruit to a brand-new post and are looking for an experienced and passionate full‑time Programme Manager (Live Well) to lead the delivery of our VCSE‑led Live Well infrastructure in Salford. 

In this role, you will support organisations across Salford to develop high‑quality Live Well Centres and Spaces, ensuring strong partnerships are built and delivery partners are managed in a clear, transparent and collaborative way. A key part of the role will be ensuring that all delivery aligns with the expectations set out in the GM Live Well Hallmarks. You will also be responsible for ensuring the programme’s impact is clearly demonstrated through robust monitoring, high‑quality data collection and meaningful insight.

Greater Manchester Live Well is a broad cross‑system partnership with particularly strong involvement from GMCA, NHS Greater Manchester and the VCSE sector. 

Launched in 2021, it is a core Mayoral commitment and embedded in the Greater Manchester Strategy (2025–2035). The vision is that by 2030, residents will benefit from a connected, preventative and equitable system of support, delivered through:

• A network of integrated Live Well centres and spaces in every locality
• A universal “no wrong door” approach
• Recognition that the VCSE sector has a key role to play (with dedicated VCSE funding)

• A neighbourhood‑based Social Model of Health

Salford CVS is the lead VCSE sector partner and accountable body for the Live Well implementation fund in Salford, working with public sector partners to strengthen community wellbeing and ensure accessible, high‑quality support for our city’s residents.

As Programme Manager, you will lead a VCSE‑driven programme that is transforming how residents access help and support in Salford. You will maintain a clear overview of programme developments, partners and activities, acting as a key source of knowledge for Live Well locally. You will share information proactively, strengthen connections across the system and bring partners together to maximise the programme’s impact. 

Your work will also span all of Salford CVS’s full Live Well portfolio, including the Economic Activity Trailblazer delivered via the VCSE Elevate Salford partnership, the WorkWell offer through Wellbeing Matters (VCSE-led social prescribing), and any additional Live Well activity that Salford CVS leads or contributes to in the future. This will include our work with our 10GM partners on a large-scale GM National Lottery funded VCSE-led programme called Live Well – Places of Hope and Connection, which you will programme manage here in Salford.

Role purpose statement: The Programme Assistant, Enquiries plays a vital role in the Fellowship Programme working directly with academics facing immediate risk in their home countries to carry out due diligence or signposting. This includes managing an individual caseload, dealing with prospective applications and general enquiries, providing administrative support to the Enquiries team as well as support across the Fellowship Programme when needed. 

Organisational Background 

The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933. 

Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk. 

Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’ 

‘To advance education by supporting academics and their educational institutions in countries where their continuing work is at risk or compromised, to ensure that such academics and institutions can continue to fulfil their critical role as educators for the public benefit.’ 

This is a critical time to join our dedicated and friendly Fellowship Programme team as we expand our capacity to support at-risk academics from the Middle East, Sudan, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Russia and many other countries. 

Role & Responsibilities  

Casework  

• Signposting prospective applicants to the application form. 

• Manage own caseload, preparing cases for eligibility review, including arranging calls to speak with applicants, booking English language tests, and gathering all relevant documentation.

• Escalating complex cases to the Team Leader as required. 

• Maintain accurate and GDPR-Compliant records of casework activity. 

• Researching international affairs to develop understanding about risks applicants face. 

• Researching potential hosts for academic placements and liaising with external stakeholders in relation to applicants. 

• Attend weekly case review meetings with the team. 

Administration   

• Provide general administrative and logistical support, including answering phone enquiries. 

• Manage the general enquiries inbox, alongside another colleague, answering emails about the enquiries’ process, the Fellowship Programme and Cara. 

• Signpost enquiries to relevant colleagues internally and to other organisations where applicable. 

• Contribute to report writing. 

• Present and collect data on general enquiries and applications to the Programme. 

• Ensure safekeeping of confidential information. 

• Maintain excellent detailed records of correspondence, documents, and activities. 

• Provide administrative support to colleagues on projects as required.

Managerial Support  

• Contributing to Fellowship Programme policy changes and decision-making. 

• Provide advice and guidance to colleagues.

About the role

We’re looking for a Statutory Fundraising Manager to lead and grow our statutory income at a pivotal time for Sense. Statutory fundraising is a key growth area, and this role will shape our approach to securing funding from government bodies, lottery funders and public sector partners.

Working closely with the Head of High Value Relationships, the CEO, and senior colleagues across operations and finance, you’ll develop and deliver a clear statutory fundraising strategy. You’ll collaborate with teams across the organisation to design compelling programmes, secure significant funding, and ensure excellent stewardship of our funders.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced statutory fundraiser who wants to see their work directly enable high-quality, person-centred services for disabled people with complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a statutory fundraising strategy to maximise income from government, NHS, lottery and public sector funders.
• Identify and secure new funding opportunities, including six-figure (and ideally seven-figure) grants.
• Lead the development of high-quality funding bids, working with senior leaders and operational teams to shape strong programme proposals.
• Manage relationships with statutory funders, acting as the main point of contact and overseeing all narrative and financial reporting.
• Take responsibility for statutory income and expenditure budgets, ensuring accurate financial and programme reporting.
• Stay up to date with sector developments to identify emerging opportunities aligned with Sense’s strategy.
• Develop and contribute to partnership and consortia bids with external organisations, academic institutions and service providers.
• Work collaboratively across Fundraising and Marketing and the wider organisation to support shared goals and learning.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Code of Practice and all relevant policies and procedures.

Some travel will be required to visit Sense services across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

About you

You’ll be an experienced statutory fundraiser with a strong track record of securing significant funding and managing funder relationships. You’ll be confident working with senior stakeholders, comfortable with financial and impact reporting, and motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

You’ll bring:

• Proven success securing income from statutory and lottery funders, including six-figure grants (seven-figure desirable).
• Experience developing funding proposals aligned to organisational strategy, including monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong experience managing relationships with government and public sector funders.
• Confidence in budget setting, financial reporting and income/expenditure management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including bid and report writing.

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of the role is to develop and foster long-term, multi-faceted relationships with people giving in memory, and deliver compassionate, personalised stewardship, so all supporters feel cared about and their gift is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use Salesforce (or similar CRM) to maintain and keep up to date all information and projects related to In Memory Giving and drawing on data insights, monitor performance, identify trends, opportunities for developments and support improvements to the care and long-term relationship with supporters.
• Use the Much Loved (or similar platform) to develop tributes and opportunities for further in memory dedications, event participation and increase financial donations. 
• Establish a communication process with funeral directors and keeping these records up to date on Salesforce.
• Much Loved to promote income generation keeping them as donors, repeating donations and taking part in events and dedications
• Ensure that all communications, across all mediums, reflect the values of the Fishermen’s Mission and our Christian ethos.
•  Working closely with the Digital Engagement Officer and the Digital Fundraising Officer to develop and promote In Memory Giving and storytelling via digital platforms
•  Work with the wider organisation including frontline staff to raise the profile of In Memory Giving (internally and externally) and providing information using both written and printed word to assist with conversations with clients and supporters.
• Provide reports and information as and when required by line manager.  
• Meet all targets and objectives as agreed with the line manager on an annual basis.
• Undertake training and networking opportunities, when and if required, to keep up to date with the wider charity sector.
• Work as part of the Business Development Team at all times, taking part in team events and projects and supporting other team members if required.

About Woman’s Trust

The charity was established in 1996 to meet the gap in specialist mental health services. Woman’s Trust is led by and for women and aims to ensure that women affected by domestic abuse can live a life free from further harm and abuse. Our approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, empowering survivors on their journey to recovery from the trauma. We are committed to a positive, inclusive and equitable environment for our staff, service users and volunteers.

Alongside delivering our existing 1-1 counselling, self-development workshops and therapeutic support groups for women who have experienced domestic abuse, we are focused on developing our innovative mental health services for young women and girls, delivering new peer-led support groups and providing therapeutic groups to children and their mothers. We are also committed to developing further awareness-raising workshops and training for professionals, building on our research and policy to improve systems nationally.

Background

The lack of recognition of domestic abuse as a mental health issue within the NHS leads to delayed and inadequate support for survivors. This gap in understanding and response often result in survivors only being able to access and receive appropriate care when their mental health deteriorates to the point of requiring secondary mental health services (Women’s Aid 2021).  Meta analysis suggests that CBT, one of the NHS’s most prescribed approaches for mental ill-health, is not the best approach for domestic abuse survivors as it does not recognise and take into account the external factors and dynamics of abuse, specifically power and control, the role of the perpetrator and the resulting trauma for the survivor.

In March 2025, WT published its first major report, ‘Living Without Hope’ which consolidates existing and increasing academic, government and sector research demonstrating the significant impact of domestic abuse on women’s mental health. Outlining the current agency responses at national, regional and local levels and the gaps in provision; the report also makes recommendations for change and improvement across the VAWG and health sectors.

Building on the research highlighted in our ‘Living Without Hope’ report, WT has secured funding to work with key stakeholders in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to examine the links between domestic abuse and mental health, the specific experiences of Arab and Moroccan women and their access to safe, appropriate services that meet their needs.

Purpose

This is an exciting new role and will be focused on developing Woman’s Trust’s (WT) response to addressing the systemic issues female survivors of domestic abuse face when trying to access support.

Working with key stakeholders in the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (LBKC) and specifically Al-Hasniya to ensure that professionals have a clearer understanding of the link between domestic abuse and mental health and its impact on survivors.

Contract & hours: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE). Fixed term as dependant on funding.

Location: Woman’s Trust premises including co-location with statutory partners and community partnership locations.
