Summary Purpose - what you will be achieving:
The Policy Directorate brings together the Academy’s policy, analysis and external affairs functions to address major science and health policy issues in the UK and internationally. The Directorate works as a single, coordinated team, focusing resources on priority areas, applying strategic approaches, generating high‑quality evidence and insights, and engaging effectively with government, stakeholders and partners to inform decision‑making and influence policy.
You will work in the Academy’s new Analysis Function, which ensures that policy development, external engagement, and rapid response work are consistently underpinned by high‑quality analytical insight. Reporting to the Head of Policy Analysis, you will lead activities in a team that spans qualitative and quantitative methods, evidence synthesis, horizon scanning, policy modelling and evaluation.
You will work within the Policy Directorate (including the Policy Development and External Affairs functions) to improve the quality and impact of policy recommendations, and ensure decision-makers can rely on timely, trusted analysis.
About the role - what you will be doing:
1. Provide expert advice and guidance in support of policy analysis
- Work with the Head of Policy Analysis to develop the Analysis Function’s strategy, operating model, standards, governance and ways of working.
- Work with Policy Managers to agree strategies for evidence gathering in support of policy priorities.
- Advise on risks, uncertainties, and the implications of emerging scientific and technological trends as they pertain to the conduct of medical sciences and the health service.
2. Lead the Policy Directorate’s ‘rapid response’ function
- Lead the process of developing rapid responses to emerging policy opportunities.
- Oversee horizon scanning activities to ensure opportunities for rapid response are identified and planned for at early stages.
- Work with the Policy Directorate to agree, manage and quality assure rapid response projects.
- Where rapid response work has been commissioned by external organisations (e.g. government, arm’s length bodies), ensure their project needs are defined and addressed.
- Ensure rapid response outputs are underpinned by high‑quality analysis.
3. Project manage analytical activities
- Lead the Academy’s policy analysis projects, determining the best methodological approaches to gathering evidence that will inform policy development and external affairs.
- Manage the design and delivery of evidence syntheses, horizon scanning, modelling, impact assessments, stakeholder insight analysis, and evaluation.
- Lead colleagues in the Analysis Function to coordinate project planning and evidence-gathering activities.
- Support the Analysis Function with commissioning external analysis where appropriate.
- Regularly report on project progress, risks and issues to the Head of Policy Analysis.
4. Build analytical partnerships and external credibility
- Engage with analytical teams across government (e.g., DHSC, NHS England, UKRI, ONS), the charity sector, research funders and national academies.
- Engage with academic experts, methodologists, research networks and data holders to strengthen analytical depth.
- Represent the Academy in analytical or evidence‑focused fora.
- Work with the External Affairs team to support external activities.
Requirements
Essential
- Extensive experience working in analytical or evidence functions.
- Expertise in a range of analytical methods, such as: evidence synthesis, horizon scanning, behavioural insights, data analysis, evaluation, modelling, or forecasting.
- Experience in ensuring analytical quality assurance and establishing or applying analytical standards.
- Proven ability to engage with and communicate complex analytical findings clearly for non‑technical system partners, including government and sector representatives.
- Experience with working at pace and managing a range of projects.
- Good understanding of the UK science, research and health policy landscape and how evidence informs decision-making.
Desirable
- Previous work in a science, health, research or public policy environment (e.g., government, national academy, think tank, research funder).
- Experience with managing budgets and commissioning research.

Ashinaga UK is recruiting a Programme Coordinator (Maternity Cover) to support the delivery of the Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) leadership scholarship programme for African Scholars studying in the UK. Programme Coordinator
- Location: Hybrid. Candidates must be willing to travel regularly for programme activities and team meetings.
- Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday with occasional work on weekends or evenings.

Programme Coordination & Operations
- Support the end-to-end delivery of Ashinaga UK’s annual programme cycle (including university preparation camps, inductions, monthly calls, workshops, summits, and graduation activities).

- Coordinate event speaker invitations, facilitator briefs, and session materials.

Scholar Support

- Support Scholars as they develop their Ashinaga Proposal social impact projects.
Data & Systems Management
- Maintain programme records, databases, and reporting tools (including through our Scholar App, CRM, and internal systems).
- Support line-manager in monitoring programme KPIs and documenting insights.
Communication
- Write articles, Scholar profiles, and programme updates for use on the Ashinaga UK website, newsletters, and external reports.
- Create multimedia content (photos, short videos, social media material) to showcase Scholar stories and impact

Join Our Team as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner
Location: HMP Hull, East Yorkshire.
Rethink Mental Illness work alongside Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) and Humber, Teaching NHS Foundation Trust to deliver an integrated stepped care mental health service within HMP Hull and Humber.
The team compromises a range of highly skilled professionals who work collaboratively to provide the highest quality of care, for those with mental health needs within the prison and for Rethink Mental Illness employees, this is carried out between 0800 – 1600 Monday to Friday.
As we work across both sites, there may be some travel involved, but this will be done in work time and expenses paid to support service delivery.

Your work will make a real difference by helping people in prison take positive steps toward recovery and a better future. You’ll play a vital role in supporting mental health, reducing risk, and empowering individuals to manage their wellbeing.
In this role, you will:

- Post-qualification experience delivering the full range of evidence-based IAPT low-intensity interventions at Step 2.
- Proven experience working within a stepped care service, supporting individuals with mental health problems and achieving recovery outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of assessment procedures, screening, referral processes, record-keeping, and evidence-based brief psychological interventions.
- Understanding and application of evidence-based psychological therapies relevant to this role.

The Vacancy
We are looking for a talented Research and Development Officer to join our children and families team at Research in Practice. In this role you will develop and deliver accessible content and learning activities that promote evidence-informed practice and policy across child and family social care, youth and family justice as part of our annual delivery programme for our partners. You will also be involved in the delivery of commissioned project work.
The successful candidate will have experience designing and delivering resources, workshops, webinars, and events for a range of audiences, including senior leaders.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong written and editorial skills, excellent facilitation skills and who is confident distilling complex information into accessible learning materials. While the position requires engagement with and understanding of research, it is not a primary research role.
Key responsibilities are:
- Producing evidence-informed practice and policy resources in a range of formats (e.g. publications, videos, podcasts, animations). This includes evidence scoping, content development, commissioning, project management, editing, writing and quality assuring resources from inception to publication.
- Leading the development and delivery of concise, accessible content and learning activities to enable the development of evidence-informed practice and policy in the sector.
- Developing and facilitating learning sessions and events with a range of participants, including senior leaders across the sector.
- Working on a range of commissioned project work, from development/design through to analysis; presenting findings on completion and representing Research in Practice in project teams with academic and practice partners.
- Building strong relationships with sector experts and effectively managing relationships with authors, facilitators, people with lived experience and those working in research, policy and practice.

The Sir Martin Gilbert Learning Centre is an educational charity whose mission is to educate young people about who Jews are and the contributions they have made to society. What is the Role?
In this role, you will drive business growth by securing new partnerships and managing key client accounts across designated regions. About the role
We are looking for an experienced Partnerships and Advocacy Manager to strengthen The Politics Project’s influencing and partnerships work, with a focus on Democracy Classroom - a non-partisan network of organisations across the youth, education and democracy sectors. You’ll lead the implementation of the new Democracy Classroom strategy, and grow the network’s impact and reach in the build up to the next general election and the implementation of votes at 16.

About Action Tutoring
At Action Tutoring, we believe every child should be given the opportunity to succeed in school. But in the UK today, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are less likely to
achieve the grades they need to progress in life. This isn't because they are any less able; they have less access to the tools to help them reach their potential.
We don't think this is fair. We know tutoring is an effective way of improving academic attainment and so we harness the power of volunteer tutors to bridge the gap and ensure this help can be accessed by every pupil who needs it, not just those who can afford it.
We specifically help pupils facing socio-economic disadvantage and who are at risk of leaving primary or secondary school without reaching national standards in their exams. About the opportunity
We are looking for a strong candidate with formal teaching qualifications and experience teaching core National Curriculum subjects to join our established Impact and Quality department as Curriculum and Quality Manager. This role has oversight for ensuring the creation and delivery of high-quality, tailored tutoring resources for pupils and tutors, and managing the quality assurance processes within our organisation. This role includes line managing a team composed of two Curriculum Leads. The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences – is seeking a Venue Sales Coordinator to join our Resources team, providing key support in the delivery of venue sales and commercial event planning.
The role
The Venue Sales Coordinator will contribute to the growth of the department’s turnover by leading on enquiry response with a timely, professional and knowledgeable approach. The role will contribute to revenue growth by maximising opportunities to increase spend per head through proactive and thoughtful upselling of in-house services, including catering and AV, and trusted external suppliers.
With previous sales experience, you will be a confident, driven, and highly organised professional, as well as an excellent communicator. You will have the ability to build and nurture strong relationships, manage client expectations, meet deadlines, and negotiate effectively with both clients and suppliers. We expect from the successful candidate to effectively plan and manage a full range of corporate, private, academic, and charitable meetings and events from initial contact to post-event follow-up.
You will act as a contributing member of the vibrant Hospitality team to deliver ambitious sales and service targets, thereby fulfilling the Academy’s strategic objective to make the most of its assets and secure its future.

- Strategic thinking coupled with precise delivery skills - organised, proactive and outcome-focused.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Curiosity, adaptability and the intellectual agility to work across diverse medical research themes and priorities.
Experience within higher education, healthcare, medical research, life sciences or global health would be highly beneficial, but not essential if you have the appetite and ability to learn. We have opportunities available for 18 month fixed term contracts as Client Support Apprentice Workers in our two of our services in Westminster.
What you’ll do as an Apprentice Worker
Working as a Client Support Apprentice Worker, you will complete practical work experience and academic learning to build the knowledge, skills and experience to work with clients in housing and homelessness sector.
As an Apprentice Worker you will:

Work alongside colleagues, students and volunteers working together to support and empower clients to recover from homelessness and rebuild their lives.

Gain practical experience and skills in caseload management while working in a person-centred way to support wellbeing and recovery.

Learn how to deliver day-to-day services while collaborating with colleagues and external partners.

Have opportunities to shadow experienced staff and receive on-the-job training, observing how we empower our clients to access the right support and move on.

Complete the practical element of your apprenticeships with meetings and event attendance as well as formal learning while completing a Level 3 Peer Worker qualification.

Complete on and off the job learning, shadowing and development opportunities.

Receive support and supervision from an Apprenticeship Advisor as well as a direct line manager, every step of the way.
Where you’ll work
We’re excited to offer 2 Client Support Apprentice Worker opportunities, joining the team in the London Borough of Westminster in the following services:
Westminster Atlas Team, which provides support to people experiencing street homelessness and multiple disadvantages across Westminster. The team maintains frequent contact with clients to support them into accommodation, improve their wellbeing, and sustain positive outcomes.
Westminster First Contact Team (FCT), which works on the frontline supporting people who are new to the streets. Through street outreach shifts across the borough, the team engages individuals, assesses their needs, and helps identify the most appropriate route away from homelessness.
This apprentice scheme is for people with lived experience.
Our Apprentice scheme is specifically designed for people with lived experience, and we can only offer places to the people the programme is designed for.
You may have personally experienced homelessness (spent time sleeping rough, or lived in a hostel, refuge or supported accommodation), you may have experienced domestic abuse, mental health struggles, substance misuse problems or had contact with the criminal justice system and have used recovery services as a result.
We’re looking for people with a genuine motivation to build a career supporting vulnerable adults, who can bring:

Learning and reflections gained through lived experience and recovery.

Ability to demonstrate how personal lived experience has shaped your approach to support and wellbeing.

Good communication and listening skills, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Some experience through volunteering or working in a similar setting.

Basic admin and IT skills and a proactive attitude towards learning.
