The MEAM coalition has worked for fifteen years across more than 50 local areas in England, supporting local partnerships to tackle the structural and systemic issues that cause and sustain multiple disadvantage. We run the national MEAM Approach network, supported Fulfilling Lives from 2014-2022 and hold the current support contract for the Government and The National Lottery Community Fund’s Changing Futures programme. Our position enables us to bring learning together from these programmes to understand what drives change and allows people to make improvements in their lives.
This new role will be responsible for leading the implementation of our new network membership structure, and ensuring members are supported to actively participate in the MEAM Approach network. As the Membership Manager, you will build relationships with our network members, oversee communications to the network, manage our online community platform, and identify ways in which we can further support network members through commercial opportunities. You will combine your deep knowledge of multiple disadvantage with a curious and collaborative approach to your work, demonstrating a genuine interest in developing and contributing to the growing knowledge and experience in systems thinking and systems leadership across the team. You will share your reflections and insights generously with the team and be open to positive challenge as you develop your practice.
Your approach to work will embrace and embody MEAM’s unique approach developed over the last fifteen years: highly collaborative; practical yet ambitious support; and focused on rebalancing power in systems through meaningful coproduction. You will be firmly committed to improving the lives of people facing multiple disadvantage and committed to helping us drive forward areas of our work where we have made some progress but more needs to be done, in particular around equitable access to effective support for women and racially minoritised groups and deepening our understanding of multiple disadvantage through an intersectional framework.
You will feel competent delivering work remotely and online, but will also be willing to travel nationally for face-to-face work. You will be comfortable working as part of a dispersed team, requiring you to be significantly self-driven in your work.
MEAM values and prioritises different perspectives and all lived experience and as such we encourage applications from all under-represented groups. Specifically, we are seeking to increase representation in our team of people with lived experience of multiple disadvantage and people from racially minoritised groups. We believe in equity over equality and encourage you to contact us if there are barriers to you applying for this position, this can include but is not limited to, childcare/carer responsibilities and access requirements.

Corporate Partnerships Account Manager
FTE £32000 - £35000, 25hrs pw PR, flexible and hybrid, plus opportunities for ongoing L&D and training for sector related qualifications
About Us
The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.
The role
Is an exciting new edition to the TUR team, created to capitalise on the fact that the number of businesses in our catchment area is 45000+, but we’re not trying to talk to all of them, just target a few – ideally by gaining referrals and recommendations. So the job is to proactively find those local businesses happy to talk to us, understand what they might be looking for by partnering with a charity, share our brilliant story along with the business case (which is strong) for them to get involved with us in some way. We have made an excellent start, we already have a small number of great corporate partners, and this job is about taking it all on to the next level. As you would expect the role is about creating contacts, networking, maximising the face-to-face time with prospective partners and where possible gaining referrals. And, ultimately this is all because, the bigger our portfolio of corporate partners all feeling great about their involvement with us, the more able we are to raise the funds we need to keep up with an ever-increasing demand for our services.
About You
You live within - or know well, West/Central London, you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the product or service you’re talking about. You have a CV that demonstrates solid experience in a comparable role in a ‘business-to-business’ environment, a role - the success of which, is dependent on the levels of energy and proactivity you provide. This could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. However, if you have a solid B2B background and want to explore a change of direction you are also very welcome to apply. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ your story through your presentation skills. You also need great listening skills so you can build a picture of what each new corporate partner is looking to achieve by signing up to our cause. You have used Microsoft suite products before – including PowerPoint. A driving licence and use of a car is desirable as the role requires regular client visits, some of whom may not be accessible by public transport.
If this is you, please send you CV (max 2-3 pages please) and a covering letter (just a one-pager please) to our CEO telling us why you thin you are a fit for this role

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding what works and working for change – scaling up and spreading the practices that make a difference.
Our Change team does this by building excellent relationships and sharing evidence of what works with organisations and key individuals across the public, private, third sectors and local communities. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, proactive and highly organised Change and Events Officer to join our Change team to help us fulfil our mission.
Key responsibilities
Most fundamentally, your job is to work as a member of our Change team to make sure we’re excellent at running events and managing relationships with key stakeholders. You’ll make sure the team is incredibly organised and has the support it needs to work effectively. Key responsibilities:
-
Event Organising. Help to organise events, from small roundtables to large in person conferences. You will help make sure events run brilliantly, from booking venues to managing invites and organising materials.
-
External Relationship Management Support. Provide support to the team in managing external relationships by scheduling meetings, organising workshops and developing materials.
-
Meeting Effectiveness. Make sure certain meetings are effective. You’ll do this by organising the meetings, taking great minutes, making sure we keep track of things we said we would do and saving the documents in the right place.
-
Project Support. Help ensure projects within the Change teams are done brilliantly. This may involve administrative tasks, tracking deadlines or leading projects as needed.
-
Query Management. Monitor and respond to general queries by managing the team inbox.
-
Salesforce Reporting and Stakeholder Communication. Lead on coordinating Salesforce reporting and effective communication outreach for key stakeholder groups.
-
Stakeholder Engagement and Change Activities. Develop and support stakeholder engagement and Change activities, including monitoring and compiling feedback from surveys.
-
Team Scorecard Coordination. Lead on co-ordinating the team scorecard, ensuring that the team is on track with targets.
-
Collaboration. Work closely with other roles (including our Operations and Culture team) within YEF to ensure coordinated efforts and sharing of best practices.
About you
You are this sort of person:
-
You’re incredibly organised: You have an eye for detail and you’re excellent at and enjoy designing a plan and seeing it through. You use your organisational skills to work across your team and keep everyone working together to achieve the same goals. You have a track record of making things happen on time. You like finding ways to make things operate better for everyone. It’s a plus if you’ve used the Salesforce system, before but it’s not a requirement.
-
You love organising external events: You like helping to create experiences that leave people feeling energised, excited and ready to act, whether that’s a well-run roundtable, an effective workshop or a remarkable conference.
-
You understand how people and organisations work: You understand the nuance of how decisions get made and you understand how to find out who has decision-making power.
-
You win people over: People tend to warm to you and respect you. You easily build good relationships with both very senior and very junior people. You are at ease talking to a senior civil servant or a 15-year-old.
-
You love supporting great teams: You don’t know all the answers, but you enjoy helping colleagues find answers and solve problems so that the team can work brilliantly and efficiently.
-
You’re able to juggle many diverse tasks at once: You enjoy moving between different types of projects and prefer a job that looks a bit different every day. You can effectively identify what’s most important and how to balance different priorities.
-
You learn fast but remain humble: You quickly get your head around ideas. You have a track record that shows how quickly you think. It wouldn't faze you to have responsibility for organising things that are new to you, as long as you have an expert to ask advice from. You like learning and developing. You are proactive, but happy to ask for help when needed.
-
You don't want your days to pass without making a difference: You want to play a significant part in a charity that is making a difference. You like the idea of doing a job that makes young people safer.
-
You’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion: You believe and act in a way that celebrates and encourages a range of experiences, views and values.
While it’s not a criterion, we are especially interested to hear from applicants who have lived experience of youth violence.
It’s also important to us that the people we hire do not discriminate. We believe in being inclusive and giving everyone an equal chance to succeed. Applications are welcome from all regardless of age, sex, gender identity, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief, race, sexual orientation, transgender status or social economic background.
All appointments will be made on merit, following a fair and transparent process. In line with the Equality Act 2010, however, the organisation may employ positive action where candidates from underrepresented groups can demonstrate their ability to perform the role equally well.
Additional benefits include
£1,000 professional development budget annually, 28 days plus Bank Holidays, four half days for volunteering activities.
