Hybrid working

Purpose of the role
The Foundation is currently recruiting a programme officer for the Special Interest Programme based in its London office. Programme officers manage relationships with Oak partners, and make grants, as directed by our Trustees.
Main responsibilities include:
- managing a large grants portfolio, including: research and rigorous due diligence to prepare grant recommendations and progress reports for Trustees. This includes reviewing partner budgets and financial statements.
- supporting impactful partners by: providing ongoing contact, communications, and site visits; and monitoring progress and supporting adaptations to achieve desired impact;
- establishing and maintaining good relationships with applicants/partners and Oak Foundation’s other partners
- supporting partners with organisational strengthening and the development of child safeguarding policies as needed
- assisting partners to overcome challenges and draw out lessons learned in ‘end of grant’ reports when grants close
- working collaboratively on cross-foundation initiatives as required
Position requirements:
- An advanced university degree or equivalent experience
- Five to seven years’ experience of working in the not-for-profit sector and/or in philanthropy, including experience in grant-making and project and budget management
- Proven work experience and expertise in two or more of the following areas – social justice, child welfare, educational reform, access to the arts, humanitarian aid, development or environmental issues
- Excellent writing and editing skills, and ability to work quickly to meet deadlines
- An understanding of intersectionality and inclusive approaches to grant-making
- Proven experience in building and maintaining partnerships
- Ability to work independently but also flexibly and collaboratively, as part of a small team based in three different locations

IBIS House MH Step Down & Crisis
Working in partnership with the London Borough of Newham and East London Foundation Trust, IBIS House supports people who are medically fit for discharge from mental health inpatient stays but have other barriers to discharge. These may include housing, living skills, accessing benefits or the community, or other interventions and will be on a person-centred basis. The main aim of the service is to provide short-term support to customers to link with longer-term services to reduce escalations in need, and reduce inpatient readmission and reduce pressure on inpatient beds.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be expected to undertake some duties as part of the management team which may include supporting the team with their responsibilities whilst working flexibly to respond to the needs of your own customer case load. This role will require either an extra dimension of experience or have/be working towards a higher qualification level in order to meet the role specific competencies for this position.
Shifts will be on a rota pattern and include morning shifts (08:00-16:00) and afternoon shifts (14:00-22:00).
Includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Work proactively with the team to handle the service caseload and support an effective team approach to meeting each customer's identified needs in a recovery-focussed way

Contribute to a positive service environment, ensuring the service is supportive and a place of safety and stability for customers. Inducting new customers, and helping orient them to the community and local area

Building a relationship with the local borough and any key agencies. For example: no recourse to public funds teams, homelessness teams, community mental health teams etc.
Support planning, including ward management liaison, medication profiles and medication reviews as required, identifying the goals and steps to support customers to manage their own support and risk and ensuring these are correctly documented within Look Ahead's paperwork.
Involve customers in the design, development and delivery of the service through co-production.
Report and react to any observations relating to customers welfare
Proactive development of links with local statutory and voluntary organizations to provide a range of engagement opportunities for customers in the community
Shift lead, ensuring effective coordination of staff time so that all planned service and customer activities are attended to during the course of the shift
Maintain a good standard of records as required at the project under the direction of the Managers.
Proactively engaging in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis.

The Mencap Community and Events Team has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and passionate fundraiser, dedicated to raising as much funds as possible to help make the UK the best place to live for people with a learning disability to join our team as Area Fundraising Manger covering Northern Ireland.
Covering the Northern Ireland the Area Fundraising Manger will be responsible for managing various income streams across the Community portfolio working closely with the wider team.
Within this role, you will achieve agreed fundraising targets through effective management, support and cultivation of both existing and new regional supporters including: individuals, groups, associations, local corporates and schools whilst maximising the current portfolio of Mencap owned products. You will research, identify and develop new community fundraising opportunities, areas of potential support and build a robust pipeline for restricted grants and corporate partners.
The role is home based. There will be travel around the areas that the role covers.
This position is a permanent, full-time role to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. The nature of community fundraising is that there will be evening and weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be given.

Our client is a highly regarded International Development Organisation with a Head office based in Central London. They are looking for an Interim HR & Operations Coordinator on a FTC basis until Mar / Apr 2025.
The HR & Operations Coordinator is accountable to the HR & Operations Manager and will work closely with the Finance team as well as senior management. In addition, this post has considerable interaction with members of the UK Head office and Country staff based overseas.
Main responsibilities
Human Resources
To be the first point of contact advising managers and staff including secondees on all general HR operational enquiries in adherence to company’s policies and procedures, legislation and best practice.
Supporting Senior Management on complex disciplinary, grievance, capability cases.
Coordinating recruitment campaigns and supporting the team in implementing the 2024 recruitment plans.
To support the learning and development function and needs arising from the appraisals process including the administration and co-ordination of internal training programmes.
To ensure HR Records are up to date, accurate and compliant with legislation including administration of the online system to record absence (sickness, holiday TOIL).
Provide departmental reports to the Senior Management Team when required.
Provide the monthly payroll data and liaise with the external payroll service provider to provide the smooth running of the monthly payroll.
To promote equality of opportunity in relation to the duties of the post.
Supporting the programmes team with compliance in Country Offices.
Information Technology
To support the HR & Operations Manager in the on-going development of the company’s IT systems.
To support IT function and security of the company's electronic records.
To act as the main point of contact for the outsourced supplier.
Administration and Facilities
To provide general administrative support to the HR & Operations Manager ensuring the smooth running of the organisation.
To coordinate the recruitment and onboarding plans and delivery for new staff,
To coordinate ongoing HR contract administration and changes.
To facilitate the purchasing of staff IT and other work equipment in line with budget.
To coordinate the monthly payroll communication and approvals
To arrange and service internal and external office meetings.
To be the first point of contact with shared working space (office) provider and ensure facilities are currently accessed and utilised.
Assist the HR & Operations Manager in resource planning for additional capacity for company projects
To be the main contact for Health & Safety for the UK office, developing and implementing the health and safety policy and ensuring that staff comply with this.
Together with the HR & Operations Manager, ensure that the company has appropriate insurance cover.
To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested by the SMT commensurate with experience and company requirements.

This is an exciting role in our Supported Accommodation team that will be the first point of contact for the hostel and assist by inputting information on the client database to ensure that all staff have timely and accurate information about residents. You will also assist the Registered Manager in recording and reviewing documentation in relation to the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and our registration and regulation under OFSTED. In addition to this, you will work alongside our Support and Advocacy Practitioners to ensure that the residents feel safe, welcomed and encouraged to thrive.

The Office Coordinator position is responsible for the general day-to-day operations of the London, UK office. Due to the nature of this position, work must generally be performed within a 30 hours / week timeframe (M-Fri). This role is an in-office role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, with other duties upon request:
· General administration as required: call handling and forwarding, front door access controls, post management, post requests, staff access, etc.
· Support of facilities management: oversight of cleaning and maintenance contractors, management of office supplies and procurement, equipment maintenance requests, liaison with building management.
· Facilitating work from home set-ups and procurement and coordinating distribution to personnel as requested.
· Facilitating new starter set-up in collaboration with P&C (HR) & IT inclusive of onboarding, office orientation, etc.
· Responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, tidy, and professional office environment at all times.
· Ensuring the office is health and safety compliant and maintain a knowledge of UK regulations for workplace management.
· Manage any office security systems and accounts, fire drills, fire equipment maintenance, or required inspections. Maintain the fire safety equipment and ensure fire extinguishers are services and smoke alarms / detectors are functioning – conduct fire safety awareness training upon request.
· Manage corporate relationships and partnerships such as shipping vendors, office accounts, and more.
· Ensure the payment of facilities invoices within payment deadlines, including invoice tracking and coding.
· Manage and maintain key office supplies (including pantry supplies, office materials, first aid supplies, etc.). Inventory and maintenance of the storage unit.
· Manage the office access controls / visitor protocols of the office space and coordinate security enhancements / improvements upon request.
· Provides administrative support to the Grant, Contracts & Compliance Department in the coordination of contracts received to and shipped from the London office.
· Supporting staff in the office with questions, inquiries, and support needs.

About this key role
Our successful candidate will provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral and support service to young victims of violence, exploring innovative and effective ways of supporting them which will reduce their risk of re-victimisation. You will deliver an outreach service that includes advising and advocating on behalf of the young person and their family, providing practical support that will include setting up access to and helping each individual, following their discharge from hospital back into the community, to engage with specialist support services. In turn, helping them to navigate the impact that follows post peer on peer violence. This will include providing vital help with mental health and wellbeing, housing and social support, ETE, substance misuse, finance, benefits and debt.
You will also be expected to assess young victims of violence with reference to St Giles’ assessment practices and to produce support and risk management plans based on these assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, while developing and maintaining effective relationships with partner agencies is also an essential element of the role.
