Through our health programmes and advocacy, we work to ensure excluded people overcome barriers to realising their right to healthcare. Since opening in the UK in 1998, we’ve raised £10m for overseas programmes, helped 20,000 service users here and fought for healthcare as a human right for all.

For this position, we are in search of a candidate who will provide leadership in the development and review of the charity’s fundraising strategy and provide oversight of delivery. The fundraising trustee plays a crucial role in our success, exerting substantial influence on shaping the organisation's financial stability. Collaborating closely with the board, this trustee will help establish fundraising priorities and track progress towards our objectives. The selected individual will utilise their knowledge in the fundraising field to provide expertise to the board's oversight function in this area.

In addition to the general duties as Trustee, as Treasurer you will play a pivotal role in securing the financial integrity and sustainability of our charity. Overview: As a Volunteer Senior Fundraiser for our women's menstrual health charity in Malawi, dedicated to ending period poverty, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to improve access to menstrual health products, education, and support for women and girls in Malawi. By leading fundraising efforts, you will directly contribute to expanding our programs, reaching more individuals, and making a meaningful impact on menstrual health equity in Malawi.

Responsibilities:

1. Fundraising Strategy Development: Collaborate with the executive team to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy tailored to the context and needs of Malawi. Identify and prioritise fundraising opportunities, campaigns, and initiatives to achieve fundraising goals.

2. Donor Cultivation and Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, local businesses, philanthropic organisations, and other potential supporters in the UK and Malawi. Develop personalized cultivation strategies to engage donors, communicate impact, and solicit contributions.

3. Grant Research and Proposal Writing: Conduct research to identify grant opportunities from local and international foundations, NGOs, and government agencies. Prepare high-quality grant proposals and applications, adhering to funder guidelines and deadlines.

4. Community Outreach and Awareness: Raise awareness about menstrual health issues and our organisation's work by supporting local women in community outreach activities, including workshops, presentations, and networking events in order to amplify our message and reach underserved populations.

5. Online Fundraising Campaigns: Plan and execute online fundraising campaigns using digital platforms and social media channels. Develop compelling campaign content, appeals, and engagement strategies to attract donors and mobilise support from a wider audience.

Qualifications:

• Passion for women's health, menstrual equity, and social impact in Malawi.
• Previous experience in fundraising, development, or related fields preferred.
• Strong communication skills in English

We’re looking for a further 12 admin volunteers to help with our daily operations.  We have a variety of ways you can get involved:

• Responding to client requests and enquiries
• Managing and updating company databases

• Maintaining internal, volunteer, and client records
• Drafting and mailing client correspondence and newsletters
• Organising events, scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements
• Providing administrative support to other departments or projects as needed

We’ve designed our volunteering programme to be flexible and adaptive to you.  All volunteering is 100% remote and you’re supported fully by our team.  You control what you do and how many hours per week you want to volunteer.  Some roles may require an Enhanced DBS check. If your application is successful, we will ask for a donation towards the cost of your enhanced DBS check if it's required for your role. This cost is £20.60.

How much time can you give?

A minimum of 3 hours per week is required. We are flexible and like to work around you.

Training

We provide CPD accredited training with 3 short courses needing to be completed prior starting your volunteer role.  After, you’ll have access to over 90 CPD accredited courses should you want to study further.

Age UK Notts are seeking individuals who would like to be considered as a volunteer for our Companion Service.

Volunteers will be supporting people remotely, in their own homes and in the community within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and ideally, we ask all applicants to provide a minimum of 1 hour volunteering a week.

The companion service volunteer can choose to be:

• A companion telephone/video caller                                                               

• A companion within the person’s home

• A companion outside the person’s home

• Or a combination of all three.

Examples of the type of support the service offers include:

• Telephone / video calls for an older person/s on a regular basis at a mutually agreed time for a friendly chat. 

• Supporting an older person/s hobbies and interests or simply chatting with them in their own home on a regular basis.

• Supporting with digital access & building confidence skills & motivation to access the opportunities of the internet.

• Supporting the person outside of their home e.g., by accompanying them on a walk, to the shops, to a café, garden centre, theatre or cinema or other social activities / community groups. 

• Where appropriate, supporting the older person to access other services through information and signposting or referring to the Companion Service Coordinator for support.

We are looking for the following skills/interests:

• Individuals with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of older people who are committed to volunteering on a regular basis.

• Commitment to complete our Volunteer Report Form accurately and regularly. 

• Ability to travel for visits in the local community either by car or public transport for those volunteers who choose to participate in this type of activity.

• Digital literacy for those volunteers who choose to participate in this type of activity.

We are, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), which has provided advocacy services for the people of Teesside for almost 30 years, and we are currently looking for new Trustees to join our Board.

Our advocates provide advocacy to adults who are experiencing mental health difficulties that impact on their ability to make their voice heard and are unable to independently navigate personal issues such as aspects of their health, finances, or housing needs.

Trustees are essential to the success of a charity, and the Board is the charity’s governing body. Trustees are responsible for ensuring the charity meets its objectives and are responsible for its general administration and control of the charity.

Our volunteers will also raise awareness of and promote Age UK Devon services to clients, and record details of any other queries or concerns so that our Advisors can follow up with clients.

We are looking for a Volunteer On-line Meeting Assistant to support the Head of Area (Central Region) with organising and preparing for monthly and quarterly virtual meetings, and on occasion events or conferences. 

You will be remote based at home, with some occasional travel for face-to-face meetings (expenses reimbursed), and ideally will be able to commit up to 4 hours per week to volunteering, during usual office hours Monday to Friday.

The majority of meetings are held virtually on-line via MS Teams.  You will support the Head of Area (and meeting Chair) by:

• Take notes of the meeting and share these with attendees, eg, updating SharePoint

Share Psychotherapy is one of Sheffield’s leading mental health charities. Established for over 40 years we offer medium to long term therapy at nominal fees, primarily to people on low incomes. Mindline Trans +

Mindline call handlers will have the opportunity to volunteer for our Mindline Trans + helpline as a progression opportunity. You will need to attend Trans Awareness training. You will be offering emotional support to transgender people, their family and friends. Mindline Trans+ operates every Friday 8pm – 11pm. Minimum commitment for Mindline Trans+ 2 x 3hr shifts per month.

If you are wizz on social media, a genius with Microsoft office and have a great understanding of digital platforms, you could help to make the world a bit easier to navigate.

Help us showcase the positive impact of the digital world to people who may not currently be accessing it and expand their horizons. Provide tips on safe and secure access so that everyone feels confident to use the internet.

What would I be doing?

Provide a “drop in” opportunity at our busy community hub in Weoley Castle.       Meet and help citizens and their carers to understand and access the digital world via a laptop, smartphone, or MAC book. This will include helping people get online safely, send emails, and use Microsoft applications such as Word and PowerPoint

Support our weekly Digital Creative Workshop. Join in with our staff team as we support citizens to unleash creative talents and learn how to make amazing online content for the digital world.

Collaborate with the marketing team: Share content for use in promotional materials, social media, and the website.
