You will be instrumental in the quality and impactful implementation, delivery and retention of our sites. You will oversee the delivery of exceptional outcomes in support of the charity's mission. You will work as part of a Regional/Country team to deliver outstanding programmes across your geography, establishing and leading partnerships throughout the life of a programme.

The Role

As Policy Manager you will be the driving force of our policy influencing agenda. Reporting directly to the CEO, your main responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring policy developments at the intersection of employment and work-migration. In the short term, in employment you will keep an eye on the Fair Work Agency and the implementation of the government’s Make Work Pay agenda. In immigration, you will monitor developments concerning high-risk employer-sponsored visas.

• Producing nuanced analyses that spell out the implications of policy developments in a clear and accessible manner, and conclude with actionable recommendations.

• Influencing decision-makers, including government, parliamentarians, parliamentary committees and APPGs. This includes evidence submissions, 1:1s, and working in multi-stakeholder environments.

• Contributing to research publications that document the systemic drivers of migrant worker exploitation, and draw on best practice to give policy makers options for change. 

• Contributing to the charity’s strategy, and taking up line management duties as required.

About you

This is a senior role for a candidate who can hit the ground running. We would love to hear from you if you have:

• Good knowledge of UK immigration and/or employment justice, evidenced by academic credentials and/or professional experience.

• At least three years of professional experience in policy influencing. We will consider less if you can demonstrate other relevant experience (i.e. in research or legal advice).

• Excellent analytical and research skills, evidenced by a track-record of publications (such as policy analyses, reports etc).

• Excellent communication skills, including an ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder environment.

• Support donor audits, statutory reporting, coordinating with IRC Inc HQ and country finance teams to ensure a consistent approach.

About You

You will be a qualified, part-qualified, or QBE accountant with strong financial management experience and excellent technical accounting skills. You’ll have a sharp understanding of how accounting operates within large, international organisations and demonstrable experience with institutional donor finance (e.g. FCDO, SIDA, Irish Aid, AFD). Experience working within multi-entity or international grant-funded environments, where collaboration across HQ and field teams is key, will be a strong advantage. You’ll also be confident working within complex reporting environments.

Analytical, proactive, and collaborative, you will combine technical rigour with the confidence to influence stakeholders across an international network - ensuring that IRC’s resources are used effectively and with integrity.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or overseas equivalent)

Finance Officer - Payroll (6 month Fixed Term Contract)

Hybrid Working: Connexional Team staff based at Methodist Church House have a hybrid work pattern which is currently 2 days in the office, and 3 days remote.

• Administer  payrolls for lay staff, ministers and pensioners, ensuring accuracy in tax codes, entitlements, deductions and other adjustments are in line with instructions from HMRC, HR , circuit treasurers and other clients.
• Ensure that all statutory and voluntary deductions are  correctly applied and remit monthly payments to appropriate  recipients.
• Prepare and post payroll summaries to the nominal ledger and reconcile control and  loan accounts monthly.
• Update and remit Real Time Information submissions (including FPS and EPS) to HMRC and upload tax code changes.
• Reconcile and remit monthly payments to HMRC for income tax, National Insurance contributions and other statutory recoveries.
• Generate  monthly debit statements, respond to payroll-related  queries from staff, ministers and treasurers, and provide payroll information to HR , HMRC and other relevant government agencies

Location: You can be based near one of the following office locations - Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Manchester or Newcastle.

Purpose of the Role: As a key leader within our Partnerships and Income Development team, you will be responsible for driving sustainable income growth through high-impact, strategic and philanthropic partnerships with trusts, foundations and corporate partners.

The organisation is currently recruiting a permanent Head of Finance to lead their finance team and support the Chief Financial Officer and the wider organisation to deliver strategic finance in support of the organisation’s growth and transformation in services.

Key duties are as follows:

• Develop and lead financial and data models to support forecasting, planning and investment decisions
• Act as a key business partner across the business, to establish departmental performance vs budget and to deliver high impact finance support.
