We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Director to lead a small charity who work within the Jewish community to make it more inclusive of LGBT+ people through education, consultancy and training.
Position: Executive Director
Location: London (King Cross) / Hybrid (minimum one day a week in the office)
Salary: FTE £47,000 to £53,000 per annum depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours flexitime, including a paid hour for lunch each working day. Core hours are 10am-4pm. Will seriously consider applicants requesting 4 days per week or a job-share

About the role:
As Executive Director you will lead a small team – Head of Education (full time), Head of Community Life (full time) and Programme and Volunteer Officer (full time), working with a charity that has a vision of a world where no one is forced to choose between their LGBT+ and Jewish identity.
As the only charity doing this in the UK, the charity works in partnership with communities to identify their goals, then tailor support so they can achieve them.
Key responsibilities of the Executive Director:
- Delivering the organisation’s priorities as laid out in the 2022-2027 strategy
- Ensuring financial sustainability through devising and executing a fundraising strategy and carefully managing the organisational budget
- Sensitive, compassionate leadership and management of the professional team
- Working in close partnership with the Board of Trustees
- Effective accounting and governance
- Monitoring and managing risk via the risk register and seeking legal advice where necessary
- Managing key stakeholders both internal (e.g. volunteers) and external (e.g. communal partners, the wider LGBT+ sector)
- Being the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the charity
About you:
- The ability to speak and write confidently and authentically about LGBT+ issues
- Strategic leadership, planning and decision-making experience in a commercial, not-for-profit or public service setting
- Line management experience, including the ability to inspire and empower a staff team
- Understanding of the charity and voluntary sector, including the funding environment in which charities operate
- Highly effective relationship-builder across multiple arenas (internal stakeholders, external partners, funders etc)
- Knowledge and experience of strategic planning and business development, including operational planning and delivery management
- Knowledge and working experience of organisational finance and budget planning cycles
- Experience working with, and preferably in, the UK Jewish community
- Positive, problem-solving and solutions-oriented
Although not essential it would also be beneficial if you have some of the following skills / experience:
- Delivering training or education in a Jewish setting
- Experience in fundraising
- Understand and experience in print, social and broadcast media
- Experience working with the LGBT+ community

Donor Finance Cost and Pricing Manager - up to £51,000. London - Hybrid
For an International NGO operating in 40 countries worldwide, we are recruiting a Donor Finance Cost and Pricing Manager - Programme Design and Development. Reporting to the Senior Cost and Pricing Manager, this role will partner with the Programme Design and Development Team to secure new funding via first-class responses to country-level, multi-country, regional and global opportunities for donor funding. This role will support the team in ensuring overall quality of cost proposals and bid submissions while building capability of in-country support teams to create effective cost proposals and program budgets.
Main Duties:
- Develop Cost Proposals: Supporting the proposal development processes and coordinate the Donor cost proposal; reviewing budget templates and cost guidance for country programs, ensuring all Donor cost requirements are met. Travel to country programme to assist in budget building as required
- Manage Relationships: Coordinate with partners for the provision of budget guidelines and time-lines, review partner budget submissions ensuring standards are maintained. Ensure handover from proposal stage to securing a project is managed effectively
- Create and distribute information packs for partners with supporting financial information. Train country Programmes in the use of proposal templates and develop tools and processes for developing proposals and budgets
- Support the Donor Forecast and Pipeline Development Project Manager with reports and analysis
- Ensure there is a good understanding in the organisation of project coding, grant, and contract payment terms
- Work with the SUN systems team to ensure projects are opened and closed effectively
- Statutory and Donor Audits - ensure year end analysis of project budgets, assist partners and in-country staff prepare for donor audits
- Review country programme and external partner budgets for donor proposals
- Set up new projects in SUN and ensure donor reports are submitted and reconciled to SUN
- Review and provide analysis on the Project Finance Reports (PFRs)
- Manage the invoicing, cash flow forecasting and grant receivables balance reporting
- Monitor Consortium partner's financial performance and compliance to Donor requirements
- Ensure projects are closed-out effectively
Person Specification:
- Advanced Excel skills including H/Vlookup, If and nested If statements, Sumif/countif function, cell validation and goal seek (will be tested)
- Experience in NGO project accounting and financial management of large international projects and country programmes
- Experience of financial reporting to Governmental, Private and Institutional Donors (FCDO, USAID, Gates Foundation)
- Ideally SUN systems and Q&A experience
- Skilled in developing value for money analysis, budget narratives and cost competitiveness assessments
- Proven experience of data analysis and visualisation for internal and external audiences

Service Managers are responsible for the effective management of all contracts within their designated patch, including line managing the relevant front-line staff. Leadership and competence development in direct reports is a key responsibility of the role. What you'll do:

What will you be doing?
Ahead of the KFC Youth Foundation Hub opening you will be feet on the ground in Middlesbrough during the development of the Youth Hub to opening, supporting with the recruitment of youth workers and hub employees, engaging and recruiting young people and co-designing opening programming and the opening of the hub.
Service Delivery & Partnership
- Responsible for the management and preparation(s) of programme delivery - play and youth work and early help provision onsite, that meets the needs of children, young people and families including through direct and partnership delivery with third sector providers.
- Develop and maintain the support needed for a varied 7-day programme of term-time and holiday youth provision (open access and targeted); inclusive of sports, arts, cultural and recreational activity that promotes the development of physical and emotional well-being
- You will have a local knowledge and be able to develop a meaningful dialogue with children, young people and families, with the purpose of assessing their needs and creating services to meet them.
- Establish an inclusive culture within the youth hub; where all are welcome and supported to participate, and where respect, honesty, and trust enables children and young people to thrive.
- Develop initiatives and partnerships to build strong links with the local community and support the growth of positive perceptions of children, young people and their families.
- Implementing methods for observable or measurable indicators of success.

Leadership

- Support the recruitment and induction of staff and carrying out regular supervision and annual performance appraisals for line reports.
- Take responsibility for staff timetables, rotas, and annual leave; arranging and authorising any necessary staff cover that may be required.
- Take authority for expenditure for events and activities within established KFCYF financial processes and accounting for all budget spending as required.
- Ensure that KFCYF policy and procedures for health and safety are adhered to and that all equipment is maintained, taking action as necessary to ensure compliance.

Administration
- Oversee the keeping of accurate and up to date records of attendance data and other management information as required.
- Maintain records of interventions; keeping files current, well organised, and able to provide concise and accurate information for the Foundation on outcomes achieved.

New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. You will spend around 2-3 days per week frontline as our Duty Manager ensuring the smooth running of the day centre. You’ll also be responsible for coordinating our weekly rota, line managing the team, overseeing our Locums, Students and Volunteers programme, supporting with donations and day centre stock, and delivering staff training . You should be passionate about supporting young people who are unsafe or facing homelessness, be able to motivate a multi-disciplinary team of staff and have the energy to problem solve in a fast-paced environment on a daily basis.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. The Services Manager will be the key operational lead for the Alliance, and oversee successful delivery of housing casework services to young people fleeing violence and exploitation who are referred in. You should have experience of working in services that support young people fleeing violence or who are impacted by the criminal justice system, and have a solid understanding of housing options for young people under 25. You should be exceptionally well organised and have excellent partnership management skills.
Salary: £37,024 - £41,600
