The organisation Working with a very well-established charitable foundation, the organisation comprises of three independent schools and two state-funded academies.
They are the holding company which owns the school land and buildings and manages the endowments valued at c.£50m. The Foundation Office delivers a "head office" type finance function for the Group and a range of other services to the schools, including governance and HR.
Your role The Group Finance Manager will work within a small team and an extended team of around 15-20 finance staff in the schools. The post reports to the Group Finance Director and the finance function are assisted by a part-time Finance Officer. The core part of the role is the production of the
annual report. You will also manage the group cash treasury system, managing 20+ bank accounts.
You will manage significant investments and investment property. You will also maintain an accurate cash flow forecast for the group. The annual audit is also a major part of the work, and you will be expected to play a key part in the management of the audit and preparation of the financial information for both the Foundation, and its trading subsidiaries and charitable trusts. There are significant capital projects in the pipeline which will also require support.

For a small but vital refugee charity, we are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance for 3 + months, starting ASAP. Reporting to the CEO, the main accountabilities will focus on providing insightful monthly management accounts and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees / Board, and to ensure the correct allocation of expenditure to a high number of grant funds. About this role
The role of the Finance and Payroll Manager is to support the Development and Finance teams to manage and report on restricted income, as well as to manage monthly in-house payroll under the guidance of the Head of Finance. This involves ensuring that we are maximising the use of restricted funding, and that money is spent in line with donors’ wishes and that staff are paid accurately and on time each month. The Finance and Payroll Manager will work within a small Finance team under the supervision of the Head of Finance. They will work closely with the Joint ED, wider Senior Management Team, Head of Development and budget holders throughout the organisation.
They will support the Head of Finance with annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting as well as with the production of the monthly management accounts. They will support the Development team in making grant applications and develop restricted grant budgets for newly secured grants for integration into the organisational budget; they will meet regularly with the Development team and budget holders to review restricted project spend. They will produce reports for funders working in conjunction with our Development Team and casework teams. The Finance and Payroll Manager will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement of the finance systems, processes and grant management tools to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose.
Contract and location
The role is a full-time, permanent position with an annual salary of £50,571 per annum less any required deductions for Income Tax and National Insurance.
Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work a minimum of 40% from the London office and the rest of the week from home.

We are looking for a freelance Finance & Operations Officer - ideally with charity experience and familiar with Xero - who can support our core team of four as it takes the charity to the next level. Join us as our Director of Finance and IT at War Child UK, a pivotal role within our Leadership Group reporting directly to Helen Pattinson, CEO. Your role is to lead our finance and IT, but as a member of our leadership group to take joint responsibility with other Directors for leading the organisation.
As Finance and IT Director, you'll lead the optimisation of our finance and IT systems to streamline recording and reporting of financial transactions. Your analytical skills will be essential as you explore cost and income centres, supplying vital data necessary to significantly enhance our fundraising efforts.
Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll play a strategic role in long-term financial planning, fostering collaboration across the War Child Alliance. Together with fellow leaders, you'll steward the wider organisation, ensuring War Child UK is ready for success and equipped with ambitious financial investment frameworks.
Success in this role also entails ensuring our IT systems maintain the highest standards of excellence, delivering accurate and timely financial performance insights. You'll contribute to a vision where War Child UK achieves extraordinary results within a financially sound Alliance, empowering members to maximise their impact while being accountable for every penny raised.
You will be a qualified accountant with exceptional strategic and operational experience. You do not necessarily need to have prior international development experience, although you will need to demonstrate that you can build effective working relationships with overseas counterparts. Experience of working within a complex fundraising environment would be highly advantageous though. For this role, we are also as keen to hear from experienced directors who are excited by what we do as we are from those for whom this would be their first senior leadership role.

The WaterAid Management Accounting team is responsible for providing robust reporting and analysis across the organisation, to ensure that WaterAid UK makes effective financial decisions and long term plans aligned with the 10 year strategy. The Finance Business Partners are essential in ensuring that key decisions makers are informed and engaged with key financial processes and manage risks.
About the Role:
As Finance Business Partner to Communications and Fundraising directorates, you will:
- Regularly advise Communications and Fundraising leaders and senior manager to review financial aspects of their operational plans.
- Develop a systematic forecasting process for the directorate and ensure robust 3-year income and expenditure financial plans are implemented.
- Support on long term financial plans and modelling supporting WAUKs 10-year strategy.
- Develop enhanced self-service reporting relevant at budget holder and department level that supports optimal decision-making.
- Create efficient finance processes that best deliver the needs of the organisation.
- Provide training and advice to build the financial management competencies of budget holders.
- Work closely with the wider finance and IS team on delivering the organisational priorities.
You'll also:
- Work with Communications and Fundraising department heads to produce their multiple year income and expenditure budgets that are required to achieve the multi-year operational plan and strategy.
- Evaluate performance against plans and apply business insight to enable fundraising strategies to be delivered successfully.
- Use analysis to identify trends from across the department and ensure optimal financial decision-making.
- Collaborate with the wider organisation to ensure that financial management information is complete and accurate.
- Use Business Intelligence Tools to develop insightful dashboards that inform decision making and encourage self-service.
- Identify operational and financial risks and determine the method of mitigating the risk with relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the delivery of a successful audit and use business insights to support the production the financial statements.
- Support the restructuring and prioritisation of resources within the directorate in line with strategy ambitions.
- To perform any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Head of Management Accounting.
About You:
To be successful, you'll need:
- Completed a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA). We are also open to part qualified candidates with the appropriate professional experience and the intention to finish remaining exams. - Experience of formulating, overseeing and reporting on operational plans, including KPIs.
- Demonstrable innovative ability: using data and insight to inform recommendations for improvements to products, processes or activities.
- Proven experience of using insight and analysis to provide trends, inform and drive business decisions.
- Keen interest in information systems, ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Experience of accounting for restricted funds, preferably in an international organisation.
- Adaptability to build effective working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues and work in a collaborative way.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and co-ordinate multiple tasks and confident to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

- Working knowledge of a budgeting and forecasting system.

My client is a world-leading arts not-for-profit organisation that works to push the boundaries of the arts and work tirelessly to produce new shows. As part of the organisation’s ongoing growth plans, they are currently in the process of improving the commercial arm of their business and explore new avenues for revenue. This has led to a need to recruit a senior finance business partner in support of this ambitious plan. As the senior finance business partner you will work closely with the wider team as well as moulding the department and building relationships with senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and work in partnership with other teams providing data and analysis relevant to the business strategy.
- Use data from various data sources to understand historic trends and use this information to create financial models and presentations to inform budget decisions.
- Create income and cost Key Performance Indicators and research other organisations to measure performance.
- Provide timely and accurate monthly management accounts including income and expenditure, balance sheet reconciliations and Key Performance Indicators.
- Prepare budgets according to timelines in discussion with the team and Chief Financial Officer.
- Prepare monthly rolling forecasts of income and expenditure, working closely with other members of the Team,
- Undertake monthly reviews with budget holders to review income and direct costs and feedback to key stakeholders where necessary.
- Take an active role in aiding senior managers and team members understanding of their financial responsibilities.
- Working with the Financial Accounts Team, ensure complete and accurate transaction processing.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with a desire to drive change in an organisation, influencing senior stakeholders at multiple levels. Additional skills include highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise and work across different teams.
