About the Role

The Homestead Park has been cherished by communities for 120 years since it was gifted to the people of York by social reformer Seebohm Rowntree (son of Joseph Rowntree) so that all individuals, regardless of class or income, could enjoy time in nature.

At JRF, we’re honouring this heritage and turning the leaves of a new chapter in the story of Homestead Park. We’re looking to the future to understand how on our home soil over the next 100 years we can grow opportunities to support JRF’s wider mission which is to ‘speed up and support the transition to a more equitable and just future, free from poverty in which people and planet can flourish’.  We’ll draw inspiration from Rowntree’s radical roots and cultivate the conditions for people to come together to explore the challenges of these times. They’ll connect with themselves, each other and nature, fostering resilient communities where people and the natural world are able to flourish together and plant the seeds for hopeful futures.

We want to uphold this tradition and not only preserve a piece of history, but also reaffirm our dedication to creating a park and pavilion community space that serves the needs and interests of the people it belongs to.

We will be developing a ten year plan to help to guide our work in Homestead Park and we’re creating two exciting new roles to support this work: the 'Community Engagement Lead' and the 'Head of Park' role. We’ll work alongside community groups and local people to steer the development of the Park and understand how it can serve communities today and for generations to come.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Wellbeing Support Worker to join our Flintshire Wellbeing service. This role does not provide direct basic care but is focused on motivating and supporting individuals to identify their own goals as well as developing self-management strategies to improve their health and wellbeing and maintain their independence.

This role will ensure that guided conversations are led by the individual and that they are at the centre of everything we do.This is a new service commissioned by Flintshire County Council on behalf of health and social care partners through the Welsh Government Regional Integration Fund. The service has been commissioned to fill a gap identified within existing service provision.

If you have an empathetic and compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their health and wellbeing, this role could be for you. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping individuals improve their overall well-being and make positive lifestyle changes following a recent hospital admission.

The Flintshire Wellbeing service aims to support individuals for a period of up to 6 weeks following hospital discharge. We work collaboratively with individuals to help them identify their strengths, overcome limiting beliefs, and develop practical strategies for achieving their goals at home and within their community.

A key element of this role will be to work with the individual and co-design a personalised action plan. From this information, meaningful functional goals and outcomes are developed with the individual, to promote wellbeing, autonomy, independence, and choice. This approach aims to ‘enable people to be and to do what they have reason to value’

Endometriosis impacts the physical and mental health of 10% of women and those assigned female at birth, from puberty to menopause - although the impact can be felt for life. Yet it’s a disease most people have never heard of, do not understand and that has no cure. It costs the UK economy around £8.2 billion every year in healthcare costs, loss of work and treatments and yet it isn’t recognised by most employers. As the UK’s leading charity for all those affected by endometriosis, we’re determined to change this and ensure that everyone gets prompt diagnosis and the best treatment and support.

We’ve big ambitions in our strategy, focused on better supporting those with endometriosis, driving down diagnosis times, campaigning for improved treatments and access to services, raising awareness, and leveraging more money into research. We place people with endometriosis at the heart of all we do.  If we get our work right, we really can make a difference to the 1.5 million women and those assigned female at birth with endometriosis in the UK – and all those diagnosed in the future.

This will be a busy, varied and important role working closely with the Head of Campaigns and Communications to identify opportunities to influence external policy to better support and represent the needs of those with endometriosis. You will be working as part of a passionate team with a strong commitment to achieving change to help those with living with endometriosis. You’ll have a sound knowledge of the UK political landscape and how to influence it and will play an important role in developing our campaigns. • Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accmmodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
• The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
• In this role, you will provide direct support to all the women, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork. 
• You will work closely with support workers and the in-house psychologist.
• You will model person-led, psychological, gender, and culturally informed support, will be skilled at building trust and you will be a great team player.
• The post holder will undertake 8-hour shifts, normally Monday to Friday but with flexibility for weekend working, covering the hours 8am to 8pm. This is a 1 year fixed term contract.

What’s in it for you

Scottish Huntington’s Association is the only charity in the country exclusively dedicated to providing expert and personalised support for those impacted by Huntington’s disease when they need it, regardless of where they live.

Organised, motivated and a confident communicator, you’ll be responsible for driving income and building relationships throughout the East Coast of Scotland, to ensure we have the funds needed to deliver our specialist services for every family impacted by this devastating disease. About the Role

• Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accommodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantages.
• The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
• You will be responsible for providing support to all the residents as needed during the evening and night, including running co-designed activities, and responding appropriately to requests and incidents.
• The successful applicant must be able to model person-led, psychological, gender, and culturally informed support, be skilled at building trust and be a great team player. You must be confident working as the sole support worker on site and have good judgement in managing incidents.
• This is a waking night support role, undertaking 12 hour shifts alongside concierge, 8pm to 8am every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Please be aware that the building has several floors and no lifts.
• The post is open to female applicants only as the role is deemed to be a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

Salary: £26,755 pro-rated (FTE £28,377)

PSPA supports families affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD), both are complex neurological conditions that affect mobility, vision, swallowing and cognition.

We are looking for someone to join our helpline team to provide professional, comprehensive support and make a real difference to people living with PSP, CBD, their families, and carers. 

We are seeking a motivated and confident person who can deliver a high-quality professional service, to work on our helpline. Previous experience of working in health, social care or the helpline sector is essential. You need to be a patient, empathetic listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role will involve assessing and responding to callers' needs via our telephone and email service providing practical and emotional support and delivering learning sessions about PSP and CBD to health and social care professionals. Ideally, you will have experience working on a helpline or in a health or social care setting.

Ability and willingness to travel within your region is essential.  Occasional weekend work may be required.  The role covers the following regions: Greater London, Kent, Essex & Surrey.

Gwent Wildlife Trust is now looking for an inspirational leader to take the Trust into the next chapter of its important work where everyone can experience and enjoy wildlife. Reporting to the Chair and Board of Trustees, the CEO will have a passion for wildlife and provide overall strategic direction and operational responsibility to a well-established and highly motivated team, all acting as a strong force for wildlife conservation across a highly distinctive and beautiful part of Wales.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Development:

• Providing strong and visible strategic leadership for the Trust as a whole, both internally and externally
• Directing, inspiring and motivating staff and volunteers
• Supporting and working with the Senior Management Team on the development and implementation of the Trust’s long-term strategy, through development and delivery of annual business plans and associated budgets and KPIs
• Providing strong financial and budgetary management oversight and focus the development of diverse and sustainable income sources
• Ensuring that management policies and decisions support the agreed vision, mission, values and strategy of the Trust
• Role modelling the values and behaviours of Gwent Wildlife Trust to continue developing a positive high-performance culture

External Relations and People Contacts:

• Be a persuasive and influential advocate, raising the profile of Gwent Wildlife Trust, The Wildlife Trusts, and the importance of nature in solving society’s challenges
• Develop and enhance relationships with key stakeholders and strategic partners
• Support the Senior Management Team to develop contacts with key stakeholders and develop strategic partnerships
• Engage with key decision-makers including SMs, MPs, Local Authorities, local councillors, corporate leaders, and community champions, to position the Trust and promote its objectives
• Support the Senior Management Team with major fundraising initiatives
• Co-operate and collaborate with the The Wildlife Trust central team, other Wildlife Trusts in Wales and across the UK

Organisational and Operational Management to include:

• Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with the Chairman, Honorary Officers and Trustees to ensure lawful and effective governance
• Lead the Trust’s Senior Management Team including holding monthly one to one meeting and annual appraisals
• Oversee financial management systems, ensuring the timely preparation and effective achievement of annual budgets
• Co-develop and deliver an annual Business Plan which aligns with the 2030 Strategy
• Oversee compliance with all statutory requirements (including Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Employment Law, GDPR, etc.)
• Ensure effective communication with staff, trustees and volunteers
• Work with the trustees to implement appropriate risk management systems
• Deepen the Trusts commitment to the Welsh language
