Social entrepreneurs scaling their ventures face a specific set of challenges including income generation, hiring, governance, hard calls about growth and risk, all alongside scaling their social impact. We’re recruiting learning and enterprise development managers who’ve lived that journey themselves, to bring first-hand credibility and challenge directly to the entrepreneurs on our scale-up and scale-up-plus programmes.

You’ll hold ownership of SSE’s scale-up approach, shaping our learning content on strategy, profitability and the systems that hold a growing venture together – grounded in what actually works, not just what’s written down. Facilitation sits at the heart of this role. You’ll design and deliver learning programmes and group sessions for cohorts of entrepreneurs as well as leading 1-2-1 coaching and diagnostics, and delivering Action Learning Sets, SSE’s long-standing peer-coaching method (training provided).

We’re looking for people who’ve founded or led a VCSE with an annual turnover of £100,000 or more and held financial accountability such as statutory reporting to the Charity Commission and, where relevant, Companies House, reporting to a board or funders, and making hard calls about growth, income and risk.

You will ensure that the services are delivered in accordance with the service level agreements and grant funding requirements.  As Service Manager, you will ensure all policy and practice issues are maintained to the highest standards.

· Qualified to a level 5 or above with a recognised professional qualification in social work, health, education or equivalent and have excellent communication skills.  

· You will need proven supervisory and experience or competence of managing others, as well as experience of management of resources including finance, planning and evaluation at a project level.

· You will also understand practice standards in relation to case work and understand the importance of quality assurance activity.

· A sound knowledge of the needs of young carers and parent carers.

· Excellent communication skills.

Natural Capital Assessment Partnership

The Natural Capital Assessment Partnership (NCAP) has operated for over 30 years. Formerly the Habitat Biodiversity Audit, a key remit of NCAP has been to survey and gather habitat data across Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull, combining ecological field surveys with pioneering satellite imagery and remote sensing analysis. A second key aspect of NCAP’s work is managing the Local Wildlife Sites programme for the region.

Data acquired and produced by the team supports Local Wildlife Site designations, Local Nature Recovery Strategy development and monitoring, and creates baseline habitat reports and statistics.  This localised yet UK-leading dataset provides robust evidence for decision-making and monitoring, plus a unique record of land-use change over the past two decades. Combined with Biological Records Centre species data, it offers an unrivalled picture of the local state of nature.

NCAP is funded by local authorities, managed by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and hosted by Warwickshire County Council.

The primary purpose of this role is to lead Together Active's Active Environments work, creating the conditions for physical activity to become a safe, easy and attractive choice for everyone. Working across systems, sectors and communities, you will influence the design, development and use of places and spaces so they enable more people to be active, with a particular focus on those experiencing the greatest inequalities.

You will provide leadership for Together Active's Active Environments agenda, building strong partnerships across local authorities, planning, transport, health, education, environmental organisations and community groups to influence long-term change. Through advocacy, collaboration and place-based working, you will champion the role that active environments play in improving health, reducing inequalities and supporting more environmentally sustainable communities.

This role supports our crucial non-therapeutic work, facilitating community and helping members to overcome practical barriers to healing through casework management. As Casework and Community Manager you will support one caseworker and volunteers or placement students to provide high-quality casework in housing, welfare benefits, access to health, childcare and entitlements, education and employment, and access to legal advice in immigration and asylum matters. You will also carry a small caseload of your own. In total, the casework team supports around 30 people a year.

This is a new role at High Trees, created because we believe Lambeth’s voluntary and community sector (VCS) is one of the borough’s greatest assets – strong, skilled and rooted in the communities it serves. Place-based organisations like ours play a vital role in supporting individuals, strengthening communities, growing local economies and shaping the policy decisions that affect the people we work with. We want a dedicated Manager who can help make that case, loudly and effectively, both within High Trees and across the wider system.

A key part of this role is our contract to deliver capacity building support to Lambeth’s VCS, commissioned by the local authority and delivered through the Lambeth Hubs Partnership – but this is one strand of a much bigger picture. We want this role to think beyond any single contract, taking a long-term view of what Lambeth’s VCS infrastructure support needs to look like, and leading the development of new approaches, including peer support models and a more circular economy across the sector.

Health and wellbeing is increasingly shaping where funding and investment in our sector flows, and we want Lambeth’s VCS to be ready and well-positioned to respond to this shift. You will play a leading role in this, working with partners including the SEL VCS Alliance to develop shared practice across South East London boroughs, and ensuring our sector’s voice is heard as these opportunities develop.

This role is as much strategic as it is operational – we’re never too far from the ground at High Trees, and you’ll be expected to lead on much of the day-to-day delivery yourself. That means designing and delivering workshops and one-to-one capacity building support, developing resources and toolkits, and running networking events that bring Lambeth’s VCS together. You’ll also build a network of trusted delivery partners – freelancers and facilitators, ideally drawn from within our own sector – helping to keep skills, income and opportunity circulating within Lambeth’s VCS.

As VCS Capacity Building Manager, you will lead High Trees’ work to strengthen Lambeth’s voluntary and community sector, acting as an advocate for High Trees and a champion for the wider sector, while managing funded contracts and programmes that support local organisations to grow their skills, systems and impact.

The role combines strategic leadership – shaping High Trees’ contribution to the future of VCS infrastructure support, and representing the sector within key partnerships – with hands-on operational delivery, including direct capacity building support, training and events. You will be confident managing multiple work streams, and equally comfortable working strategically and on the ground.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Procurement Manager to join our Procurement team, to support the Head of Procurement to take the department to the next level.

You will use your commercial focus and expertise to drive best practices in our projects, managing various aspects of spending from RfQs for tail-end to tendering on our eProcurement portal for large project procurements.  You will find yourself constantly challenged to come up with innovative ways of thinking and working closely with stakeholders to lead on procurement understanding, driving value for money, strategic projects and managing the supply chain.

You will get involved in a huge variety of projects, from ICT equipment to Marketing and Events, and everything in-between – this means you’ll need to be dynamic and flexible and able to manage your own time well. Sustainability, Social Value and EDI are important to the Trust as a Charity, and so you will strive to embed this in our supply chain with the key suppliers that we work with.

This is an exciting role that the ideal applicant can really make their own and would suit someone who is a self-starter with energy and drive, and a good background in procurement.

Although this role is based in Manchester, you will be expected to travel to our centres across the U.K. with the requirement to stay away from home one or two nights a week if you’re working on key projects in certain areas. Primary locations for this work are Birmingham, Glasgow and London.

SOS UK is looking for a Project Manager to deliver our engagement work with a focus on our Climate Action Fund programme – Student Energy Action for Life (SEAL).

Role details

Location: Home working in (or close to) London, Midlands or Manchester

Working patterns: 1 FTE (35 hours per week) with typical working times between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. The role includes weekly travel with early starts and late returns, and approx. 6 overnight stays a year.

About the role

This role will be primarily focusing on our Climate Action Fund programme – Student Energy Action for Life (SEAL), with opportunity to contribute towards our wider engagement programmes. SEAL has a twofold vision; to support students navigating the home energy system and to improve access to student energy efficient properties via landlord engagement and student campaigning. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Engage, maintain and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders particularly landlords and students' unions, as well as students, volunteers, universities, local authorities, and other key organisations. 
• Support landlords, student letting agencies and students’ unions to improve the energy efficiency of student accommodation, focusing on implementing energy efficiency initiatives, advice and support.
• Plan, design, and deliver engaging training sessions to a variety of audiences.
• Provide support for students’ union officers and other student campaigners working on housing energy efficiency campaigns, including the design and implementation of a national student home energy campaign.
• Support with the creation and management of sector wide student energy efficiency advisory groups including a home energy efficiency network, student advisory group and stakeholder advisory group.

Job Summary
As our Corporate and Community Partnerships Fundraiser, you will build meaningful relationships with businesses, community organisations and local people across Bristol, generating sustainable income and long-term support through corporates, community fundraising and events.

You will secure long-term, mutually beneficial income from the corporate sector across a range of disciplines and formats, including long-term partnerships, Charity of the Year, cause-related marketing and sponsorship. You will develop and secure new partnerships with Bristol's businesses, while nurturing and account managing existing partnerships.

Alongside this, the Fundraiser will grow support within the local community by developing relationships with organisations such as clubs, schools and faith groups. You will also encourage individuals, groups and organisations to support Caring in Bristol through community fundraising initiatives and events.

The Corporate & Community Partnerships Fundraiser will be responsible for researching key prospective sectors, companies and organisations, sector activities and the business marketplace, to compile lists of key targets, as agreed with the Public Fundraising Manager. You will develop and manage an ongoing pipeline of prospects, that have a clearly defined target outcome and value.

Personal Specification

Essential

• Proven experience securing fundraising income. Experience in corporate partnerships, community fundraising or events is preferred, although experience in other fundraising disciplines (such as trusts and foundations, major donors or individual giving) will also be considered.
• Excellent relationship and account management, networking and influencing skills, with the ability to inspire audiences and build and maintain strong partnerships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling fundraising proposals and deliver persuasive presentations.
• Ability to tailor your communications to a wide range of businesses, community organisations and individuals across a variety of formats and channels (phone, email, in person, public speaking, presentations, meetings).

Desirable

• Proven experience in a relevant business, not-for-profit, social enterprises/start-ups or charity setting with a proven track record of securing income or partnerships from corporates and/or community and events.
• Experience developing bespoke sponsorship, partnership or fundraising proposals and solutions for businesses and community groups.
• A solid understanding of modern fundraising techniques, including digital engagement and interaction.
• Experience and/or knowledge of CRM systems, preferably Donorfy.
• Knowledge of Fundraising Regulations and best practice, Data Protection and GDPR.
• Experience of managing a budget.

We're looking for a Skilled Volunteer Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of Link UP's Skilled Volunteering Programme, matching incredible Skilled Volunteers with Social Good Organisations (SGOs) to deliver projects that really make a difference. You'll own the full project lifecycle, from the first exploratory conversations and thoughtful matching all the way through to project completion and impact reporting. Alongside this, you'll help us deepen the programme in different boroughs and strengthen the systems that keep it all running smoothly.

You'll work closely with the Head of Skilled Volunteering and collaborate across the wider Link UP team, including Communications and Events.

About Link UP London

At Link UP London we build stronger more resilient communities.  By connecting small Social Good Organisations or SGOs (i.e. charities, Community Interest Companies, community groups and social enterprises) with Skilled Volunteers, we help these organisations access the skills they need, when they need them, to address strategic and operational development issues and build capacity and resources. Our Skilled Volunteers have a range of professional backgrounds (HR, finance, comms, marketing, legal, data, IT and many more) and want to apply their skills and expertise to make a positive difference in London. This means that the organisations are better equipped to tackle the multiple challenges of inequality facing their communities and the Skilled Volunteers have a meaningful volunteer experience that fits into busy schedules.

We connect skills to SGOs in 3 main ways main including:

• Skilled Volunteering Programme: Short-term, structured volunteering engagements.
• Social Impact Solutions: Our corporate programme provides structured skills-based employee volunteering opportunities in a range of formats.
• Events: Including Lunch & Learn webinars that allow professionals with limited time to share their expertise on topics of relevance to SGO capacity development, in-person workshops and community learning and networking events.

We work in all boroughs and the city of London with 95% of organisations we support addressing issues of poverty, vulnerability and marginalisation.

Role Details

Title: Skilled Volunteer Programme Manager
Time Commitment: Full time (with the option of 4 days a week)
Locations: Hybrid – remote and in-person (minimum 2 days per week in our Battersea office, with travel across London as required)
Salary: £33,000 full time with the option of pro rate @ 4 days a week

Responsibilities

• Programme delivery: Own the end-to-end matching process from first conversations with volunteers and organisations, through project scoping and agreements, to monitoring live projects and collecting feedback, ensuring fast, high-quality matches and strong relationships throughout.
• Growth & expansion: Lead research and planning for expansion in different boroughs, working with volunteers and the Head of Skilled Volunteering to identify opportunities and build relationships in communities.
• Pipeline & impact: Keep a healthy flow of projects and volunteers coming in, track diversity and reach, and contribute to regular impact and performance reporting.
• Communications & events: Work with the Comms team to promote the programme and represent Skilled Volunteering at events and in the community.
• Systems & continuous improvement: Maintain the programme's key systems, documentation, and data, and help identify better tools and processes to support the programme’s development.
• Strategic contribution: Play an active role in shaping the Skilled Volunteering model and Link UP's wider strategy and growth

Person Specification

Essential:

• At least 3 years' professional experience managing programmes or projects, ideally in a volunteering, community, or charity setting
• Strong relationship-management skills, with the ability to work confidently with a range of stakeholders
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented while being able to understand the big picture
• Proven experience working with data, feedback systems, and reporting frameworks
• Confident with CRM systems and using these to track activity and gather data
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
• An understanding of organisational development — i.e. how strategy, systems and processes evolve to support an organisation’s growth
• Some direct experience with the charity sector
• The ability to be at the Battersea office a few times a week with the ability to travel around London as needed

Good to have:

• An understanding of volunteering and Skilled Volunteering in particular, and ideally experience in volunteer recruitment
• A good understanding of the charity sector including opportunities and challenges faced by small organisations today
