Central Services is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to women through our Casework and Drop-in projects. These projects aim to address various challenges faced by women in Birmingham. 

Casework Project offers specialised support in key areas including, Domestic Violence – IDVA, Children and Families, Accommodation, Substance Misuse, Multiple Complex Needs, Trauma.

Caseworkers will be required to provide individualise support, practical advice and signposting on a range of matters such as money management, benefits, homelessness, drug treatments, parenting, children’s education, healthcare, legal and immigration issues, mental health, training education and employment opportunities.Women may also present with issues such as self-harm, suicidal ideation and safety planning. 

From our Birmingham centre, Anawim provides trauma informed services including holistic support and advocacy to enable women to reach their potential

Purpose of the job

The Youth Development Officer (Towns & Cities of Social Action), will support the development and delivery of youth participation in our place-based work with the #iwill Movement and UK Youth Network. You will create positive relationships with local youth organisations and young people, so that our work is driven by their voices and experiences, helping to develop and deliver a range of opportunities and activities to build and engage different communities of young people. You will help empower young people to become active citizens and creative positive change, by creating innovative ways for young people to engage in various networks through volunteering, social action and campaigning projects.

Key responsibilities

• In partnership with the Nationally-focused Manager and Officer, ensure young people from our TaCSAs have access to opportunities to influence and take action at a national level as well as in their local area.

• Coordinate and support on youth-facing campaigns and events such as Power of Youth Day, #iWill Week, and key regional activities.

• Ensure opportunities for young people prioritise inclusion and accessibility for those who might need additional support and encouragement to step up and engage.

• Support young people to create digital content (e.g. blogs, videos, social posts) and partner with them to tell their stories across local and national platforms.

• Develop content on agreed digital platforms to engage and connect young people and networks across the UK.

• Organise and manage logistics for youth activities: prioritising safeguarding, appropriate briefings, communication promotion and stakeholder coordination.

• Engage with partners and stakeholders—youth workers, media, funders, local authorities—to build alliances, increase visibility of youth-led work and encourage new opportunities.

• Communicate the benefits of the UK Youth and #iwill Movement and progress against our priorities to organisations and individuals, through a variety of channels, updates and specific marketing campaigns.

Experience we're after

• A nationally recognised youth work qualification or ability to demonstrate experience of frontline youth work delivery, understanding of contextual safeguarding and data protection is highly desirable.

• Experience of working with young volunteers and/or social action projects.

• Demonstrated experience in digital engagement and communications activities—especially creating content with young people.

• Experience of using digital platforms to engage networks and communities.

• Proven track record of project coordination, event management, or logistical planning within a youth or voluntary sector setting.

• Experience working in place-based contexts and understanding how to engage local communities and young people meaningfully.

Operation Manager opportunity at Alford House

We are recruiting a versatile and commercially- oriented Operations Manager to manage the facilities, develop our rental income and provide timely and accurate financial and administrative management support.

Working model: Reporting to the Senior Youth Worker and working 18 hours, typically over 2.5 days per week (flexible working pattern can be agreed), this is a hands-on role covers (but is not limited to) the following;

• Managing the buildings and their facilities, with external contractors where appropriate
• Sustaining existing and securing new sources of income from space rentals/other commercial opportunities
• Supporting fundraising/grant income applications
• Financial and budget planning, monitoring and reporting, with the support of a part- time bookkeeper
• IT, administration and facilities management policies, processes and systems

We are recruiting to a brand-new role and are looking for an experienced, community-focused Programme Manager (Place) to lead Salford CVS’s Pride in Place activity in Pendleton and Peel Green. This is a key role focused on ensuring that strong, representative community voice, clear governance, and meaningful VCSE sector involvement are embedded from the outset.

Pride in Place is a national ten-year programme that places Neighbourhood Boards at the heart of local decision-making, with local authorities acting as the accountable body and communities expected to shape priorities and hold partners to account. In this model, Local Infrastructure Organisations (LIOs) like Salford CVS play an important enabling role - helping to connect local authorities with VCSE organisations, strengthening engagement, and ensuring a diverse range of community voices can participate fully.

As Programme Manager (Place), you will coordinate our work to support high-quality governance, inclusive engagement and strong local insight across both neighbourhoods.

A core part of your work will be ensuring that Pride in Place Neighbourhood Boards in Pendleton and Peel Green benefit from authentic, representative and evidence-driven community input. As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will ensure that male survivors’ safety & housing needs are met.  You will provide specialist support at the moment of crisis, providing advocacy & support to access safe accommodation ensuring the safety, security & dignity of service users & their children.

• Ensure that male survivors’ safety and housing needs are met by supporting survivors to access safe accommodation

About You

Ideally, you will have knowledge about legal remedies for domestic abuse victims and have experience working with drug, alcohol, and mental health issues. An understanding benefits, housing, and homelessness would also be beneficial.

• Experience of providing support those affected by domestic abuse 
• An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children

This is a senior leadership role for someone who understands the realities facing young people in inner-city communities, and who is ready to lead a team that meets them where they are — every evening, every session, every conversation that counts.

Fight for Peace has spent over two decades using boxing and martial arts as a gateway to something bigger, education, employability, personal development, and a real shot at a different future for young people aged 7–25 in East London. As our Youth Work Manager, you'll be the person responsible for making sure the youth work at the heart of our Academy is outstanding.

You'll lead our youth workers, shape our programmes, and act as our primary safeguarding lead within primary interventions. This isn't a hands-off management role, you will be present in the Academy at least four evenings a week, visible to young people and staff alike, and actively involved in the delivery of life-changing work.

What you'll own:

You'll take the lead on designing, developing, and quality-assuring our youth work offer, including programmes like Man Talk and Lutadoras, our gender-specific personal development groups, as well as youth leadership initiatives and open-access evening services. Working alongside our Sports Manager and MEL team, you'll ensure every programme has a clear theory of change, measurable outcomes, and personal development woven into its core.

Safeguarding sits at the very centre of this role. You'll be the named lead for safeguarding across primary interventions, responsible not just for managing individual concerns, but for building a culture where every member of staff is vigilant, confident, and fully trained. You'll know your way around Working Together to Safeguard Children, contextual safeguarding, and trauma-informed practice, and you'll bring that knowledge to life in how the team works every day.

You'll also manage a team of youth workers, recruiting, developing, and holding them to high standards through regular one-to-ones, team meetings, and a genuine investment in their growth. Many of our youth workers are young people themselves who have come through our programmes, and supporting their professional development is a privilege that comes with this role.

What we're looking for:

You'll have a strong track record in youth work, ideally in an inner-city or community setting where the issues of violence, exploitation, and social inequality are not abstract concepts but lived realities for the young people you work with. You'll hold a recognised youth work qualification at Level 3 or above, and have experience acting as a designated safeguarding lead or equivalent.

You'll be a confident leader, a skilled relationship-builder, and someone who genuinely thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Above all, you'll believe without reservation that every young person has the potential to succeed, and you'll bring that belief into work with you every single day.

Purpose of the job

As Major Donor Manager, you will support the delivery of UK Youth's major donor programme, cultivating high-value, long-term relationships with high-net-worth (HNW) individuals in support of UK Youth's mission and vision. You will build and manage a pipeline of major donors and prospects, working towards income targets that grow year on year, and play a critical role in securing unrestricted funding, programme funding and transformational capital investment.

This role requires a strategic, relationship-led approach and a deep understanding of major gift fundraising. Experience we're after

• Proven experience in major donor fundraising, with a track record of cultivating and securing five or six figure gifts from HNW individuals.

About the role

Reporting in to the Programme and Partnerships Lead - IOPT, the Emergency Programme and Operations Officer will support the Programme and Partnership Lead, the Programme and Partnership Coordinator, and the Humanitarian Lead to actively manage Emergency Appeals. The role will ensure Christian Aid is prioritising locally led humanitarian approaches and maximising impact.

Acting with humility, respect, and mutuality the post-holder will ensure that Christian Aid works with partners to maintain internal documentation to ensure risk compliance, and reporting requirements with appeal funders.

The role will support partners, and other stakeholders in a range of areas including monitoring and evaluation, financial accountability and
will connect with technical support where needed.

The role will communicate and work well with partners and share information related to partners and their work both internally and externally.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Emergency Programme and Operations Officer include:

• Manage relationships with Key Stakeholders in the Appeal including CA Colleagues, Local and National partners, networks, DEC peer agencies, and ACT Alliance members.
• With oversight from the programme and partnerships lead provide or make available operational support to a dynamic portfolio of partners, using decolonised and localised approaches that support them in their work and foster a mindset of connection and enhance collaboration.
• Provide support to partners to ensure impact is effectively monitored, reported, and shared across internal and external stakeholders
• With support from the Humanitarian Lead, and the Humanitarian Appeals Manager ensure projects and programmes are delivered with impact in line with agreed aims, with funds used for designated purposes.
• Collaborate and contribute to global discussions to advocate for and share learnings about more people-centred approaches to humanitarian aid, including with donors, peer agencies, supporters, ACT Alliance, and the DEC to support with a culture of continuous learning

About you

Who we are looking for:

Essential:

• An understanding of the current thinking related to locally led humanitarian approaches.
• Significant experience working with programme cycle management systems.
• Demonstrated experience of working in partnership with Civil Society Actors responding to crisis and an understanding of partnership approaches.
• Detailed understanding of partnership, and appeal cycle management, tools and techniques.
• Significant experience of budget monitoring and reporting for Appeal Funders such as the DEC, and ACT.
• Highly developed communications skills, both writing and verbal including the ability to write clear, concise reports.

• Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, motivate and inspire others to take up new challenges.

Desirable:

• Experience with Christian Aid programme systems such as IPIM’s.

About the role

We are seeking an effective and successful Philanthropy professional with a passion for international development, to take a pivotal role in enabling Christian Aid to fight global poverty, inequality and injustice in the year ahead, by supporting us to deliver against our ambitious income targets.

The post holder will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to existing donors, and they will also be expected to proactively engage new prospects to grow Christian Aid's reach and impact, with a particular focus on securing 5 and 6-figure gifts. The post holder will manage a portfolio of supporters/potential supporters (primarily major donors but the portfolio also includes trusts and wealth advisors). The portfolio is predominantly based in Scotland but there are also a handful of supporters beyond this geographic focus.

The position will work closely with Scotland team colleagues, and will be part of the Philanthropy team which manages relationships with donors around the UK. The role will report into the Senior Philanthropy Advisor who is based in North England.

About you

With a solid track record of successful fundraising from Major Donors or in a related area of fundraising, you will have excellent relationship buildings skills and be a highly-effective communicator, with the ability to inspire and engage supporters. You will be able to produce high-quality proposals and reports. You will be well-practised in managing relationships based on trust and integrity and will be highly motivated, proactive and confident in engaging new prospects. Knowledge of international development and church structures would also be very helpful.
