Causeway’s four crime reduction services provide crime and violence reduction programmes for those committed to breaking their cycle of criminality. Role Summary
How this role fits into the vision and objectives of Causeway
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Crime Reduction Advocate within our Refocus Team based in Merseyside. Working primarily with female individuals who have been identified as being at risk to low level domestic violence. Please note due to the nature of the work there is an occupational requirement for the applicant to be female. It is key that it this project is survivor focused and looks to address abusive behaviours at their source, at an early intervention phase, via support and education. This means working with both those who have carried out such acts and those who have been made subject to them.
The successful candidate is expected to support a caseload of individuals in order to jointly assess and manage any initial risk and to ensure all safeguarding protocols have been followed. The role is not that of and IDSVA, although some of the skills will overlap, the is to provide on-going support to individuals in areas of need in which they feel dis-empowered and hence build confidence and skills. This process will happen in partnership with the organisation DMAT who will run ‘See the signs’ course which will look to educate and equip individuals to feel safe and empowered in this area. It is important to note that you may also be required to work with people displaying potentially abusive or coercive behaviours (perpetrators), offering education and support to promote long term change.

About the role
As a Sewing for Wellbeing Tutor, you will be creating, planning, and delivering fun, exciting workshops, courses, and projects, and inspiring our adult members in engaging and inclusive ways. If you are a compassionate, creative, collaborative sewing or textiles tutor artist who is just waiting to share your amazing range of sewing techniques and skills with our members, and confident in teaching machine and hand sewing skills, we would love to hear from you!
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

Understanding of the needs, issues and sensitivities of supporting people facing homelessness and other forms of social exclusion and develop practical solutions to address them.

Understanding of psychologically informed approaches when working with people who have experienced complex trauma from marginalised backgrounds.

Experience of delivering sewing sessions, workshops, and creative projects with personalised outcomes to support people to gain new skills and self-confidence.

Knowledge of and skills in of a wide variety of sewing skills and techniques, including hand and machine sewing; and for example, surface decoration, item personalisation; embroidery, patchwork, embellishments; recycling old fabrics into something new; repairing and mending; clothes making; homeware etc, to help people learn, progress and improve their wellbeing.

· A teaching qualification or be able to demonstrate delivering in a community-based setting.

You may have experience in; Art therapy; Safeguarding; Mental health first aid; Community arts practice.

About the Role
- Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accmmodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
- The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
- In this role, you will provide direct support to all the women, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork.
- You will work closely with support workers and the in-house psychologist.
- You will model person-led, psychological, gender, and culturally informed support, will be skilled at building trust and you will be a great team player.
- The post holder will undertake 8-hour shifts, normally Monday to Friday but with flexibility for weekend working, covering the hours 8am to 8pm. This is a 1 year fixed term contract.
Salary: £33,860

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Chester Diocesan Education team, in leading the strategic development of the Diocesan Board of Education’s vision for a deep and distinctive Christian distinctiveness, identity and practice in our church schools. The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Distinctiveness & SIAMS Officer, taking a particular lead in Collective Worship development, as well as supporting and strengthening school to church partnerships.
This post is ideally suited to an experienced middle or senior leader who can demonstrate a strong personal commitment to promoting education with a Christian purpose, and has proven experience of leading successful professional development within a church school context.
This is a part-time position for 2 days (14 hours) per week. The role offers hybrid working that includes working from Church House at Daresbury Park, Warrington, and travel around the Diocese.
