We're looking for 2-3 detail-oriented and strategic Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Specialist Volunteers to help optimise our online presence and ensure our campaigns and content reach the communities that need them most and increase the charity’s search engine results rankings. The SEO Specialist Volunteers will play a key role in enhancing the visibility and searchability of Burning Nights CRPS Support’s website and digital content.

The SEO Specialist Volunteers will be volunteering within the Communications & Marketing Team to implement SEO best practices, conduct keyword research, improve site structure, and analyse web performance – all to ensure our content reaches a broader audience and amplifies the voice of our charity’s supporters online.

Key Tasks and Objectives

• Competitor and Keyword Research: Conduct keyword research to inform website content and campaign strategies.
• On-page optimisation: Optimise existing content for improved search engine ranking (meta tags, meta descriptions, headers, alt text, etc.)
• Monitor and analyse SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush.
• Technical SEO Implementation: Identify technical SEO issues and collaborate with content teams to resolve them.
• Backlink and Off-Page SEO: Assist in developing backlink strategies and improving domain authority.
• Support the content team in creating SEO-optimised articles and pages.
• Provide monthly reports on SEO performance and suggest improvements.
• Stay up to date with SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and emerging best practices.

Key Skills or Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of SEO principles and search engine algorithms.

About the role 

As a Regional Fundraising Volunteer, you will support Rethink Mental Illness in generating income, raising awareness, and building community engagement through local fundraising initiatives. brain tumour charity. Offering practical, financial and emotional support to both adult and child

It Gets Better UK envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals. We strive to tell the stories of LGBTQ+ people and to provide positive and reassuring messages to LGBTQ+ youth.

The It Gets Better Project was founded in 2010 in America. Since then, affiliated charities have been formed in over 20 different countries. We are now at the exciting stage of continue to grow and develop the UK affiliate having formally launched in October 2018.

Join our network of Regional Ambassadors to help promote It Gets Better UK, to inspire and engage with members of their local LGBTQ+ communities to get involved, and to help fundraise.

We're looking for volunteers UK-wide, particularly across Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and parts of England (North East, North West, and South West). If you are not based in these areas but are interested in the role, you are still welcome to apply as the local role exists across the country. 

What will I be doing? 

We ask Regional Ambassadors to deliver four self-led regional actions per year, and to expect to be asked to be involved in more ad-hoc centrally-led actions and activities as these arise. Key activities include: 

• Raise awareness of It Gets Better UK and our work through talking to members of the LGBTQ+ community in your area, and on social media 

• Look after our information and fundraising stands at local events – most importantly, hosting an It Gets Better UK Pride stall in your local area. Members of the It Gets Better team will support you with sign-up admin and capacity on the day. So far, we're planning to attend Edinburgh Pride!

• Support other members of the It Gets Better UK volunteer team to deliver events in their area by adding capacity where possible, and within a distance that suits you – for example, helping out at a Pride stall run by another Ambassador nearby. 

• Deliver talks to local LGBTQ+ groups, community groups, schools etc about the work of It Gets Better UK and how they could help us achieve our goals 

• Inspire members of the LGBTQ+ community to add their own It Gets Better story to our work

What is the time commitment? 

This is a flexible role and the times will vary. Taking into account four self-led regional actions per year and ad-hoc centrally-led actions and activities, we recommend expecting to spend at least two hours a week on your role. We ask Regional Ambassadors to try to be available for Pride events over the summer: this means some half/full day activities over the summer period, usually on Saturdays. You’ll be able to sign up for days which suit you. Regional Ambassadors are appointed for up to two years. Regional Ambassadors will have a monthly online meeting with their It Gets Better UK point of contact.

Across the UK, our 270 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Support Volunteer for the Leamington Spa, Warwick and Kenilworth Group. As our local group Support Volunteer you’ll help people affected by MS find information about local and national services. Befriend a housebound older person at their home near you in Coventry - any day or time, from 30 min/fortnight. You'll be carefully matched by shared interests & supported.

Befriending an older person in your local area takes just 30-60 minutes, fortnightly or weekly. It fits into your life, and you gain a new friend. You can learn more about Coventry life & history, and feel great that you've made a housebound older person feel less lonely. Volunteers and older people come from all backgrounds. They could take short walks, bake together, watch sport together, discuss literature, learn to crochet...

You will be carefully matched by your shared hobbies and interests, and logistical factors such as shared language, how close to home or work you'd like to be, and when you'd each like to chat. Support is available at any time, should you need it.

Visits can take place during evenings & weekends, though our most popular request is for daytime visits. We also offer telephone befriending. Volunteers must be 18+, but children can come along when accompanied. Dogs are welcome too!

Visits can simply include chat and a cuppa, or can involve going for a short walk together, doing crafts, playing games, gardening together, or watching sport. It's up to you!

About Us

Muslim Women’s Network UK (MWNUK) is an award-winning national charity based in Birmingham and has been running since 2003. MWNUK are working to advance equality and social justice for Muslim women and girls. MWNUK achieves its aims through research, campaigning, training, engaging with its membership, evidence-based advocacy, and by operating a culturally sensitive helpline and counselling service.

Training

Due to the variety of enquiries we receive and their sensitive nature, the first month of your role will involve specialised training.You will be required to attend 3 mornings per week for 3 weeks.

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for individuals to volunteer on our Muslim Women’s Network (MWN) Helpline Service which primarily provides support to victims of domestic abuse, violence against women and girls (VAWG) and related issues. We are also recruiting volunteers for a new helpline service focused on recording incidents of anti-Muslim hatred.

As a Helpline Support Volunteer, you will be answering calls, emails, texts, webchat and on Amal Safety mobile app from service-users and supporting them on the wide variety of issues that are raised on the Helpline.  The helpline supports women on more than 45 different issues with most of the calls relate to VAWG as well as mental health and wellbeing.

All responses must be in line with the ethos of MWNUK which upholds protection from discrimination, harassment and victimization in line with the Equality Act 2010. The nine protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of the client cases on MWN’s bespoke online databases, ensuring data complies with GDPR requirements.

Given the nature of the role, experience supporting individuals - particularly Muslim women - is essential. This may be through paid employment, volunteering, or informal support of friends and family.

You may also have the opportunity to contribute to maintaining website resources, promoting the service, supporting other MWNUK projects and activities related to Helpline issues.

Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you feel confident and equipped in your role.

Main responsibilities

• Providing high-level support to users of the MWN Helpline and/or a new anti-Muslim hatred / Islamophobia incident recording service, responding to telephone and electronic enquiries.
• Manage helpline cases, including accurate data entry into MWN’s bespoke database.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies at all times.
• Attend training sessions as directed.
• Stay informed about developments and legislation on key issues such as forced marriage, violence against women, hate crime, Islamophobia, and related topics.
• Carry out administrative duties and provide support to the Helpline Manager, Operations Director, and Trustees as required.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

•  Has a strong interest in the charity sector, particularly in empowering racialised communities and Muslim women.
•  Can work in a non-judgmental, culturally and faith-sensitive manner.
•  Demonstrates accurate listening and note-taking skills.
• Has an approachable and friendly manner, with strong communication skills.
• Possesses excellent IT skills, including data entry and email correspondence.
• Speaks a second language (e.g., Urdu, Arabic, Punjabi, Mirpuri, Pashtu, Bengali, Gujarati).
• Has experience supporting Muslim women and girls—through paid work, volunteering, or informal support.
• Maintains a high level of professionalism when engaging with internal and external stakeholders. 
• Has knowledge of key issues affecting Muslim women and girls, including domestic violence, sexual violence, forced marriage, honour-based violence, hate crime, Islamophobia, and mental health.
• Works effectively as part of a team.
• Can work independently in a highly organised manner.
• Is driven and committed to providing the best possible service and ensuring the success of the Helpline.
• Understands and upholds confidentiality, data protection, and professional boundaries.
• Has knowledge of the community sector and its role in supporting vulnerable groups.

Join our amazing volunteer team in this flexible opportunity that puts you at the heart of our work supporting blind and partially sighted people. You’ll make taking part in events and carrying out volunteering easier and more enjoyable for our customers and volunteers with sight loss.
You’ll take some of the stress and anxiety out of getting around and taking part in activities as a blind or partially sighted person. The help you give will encourage people to do more.

What you’ll be doing
• Sighted guiding / giving practical help to individuals in and around venues, so they can take part in events.
• Supporting volunteers with sight loss with their volunteering activities which range from facilitating a regular community group to delivering a talk about sight loss to a local business. Your role would involve things like guiding; Meeting and greeting at group activities or creating a welcoming and interesting display stand at events.

In this role you will only be helping individuals in places open to the public, often in a group setting. We will provide training in sighted guiding techniques and understanding sight loss.

Glow Walk returns for 2025, our shiniest event! Participants don their brightest gear, fairy lights and glow sticks and take on our 5km course in aid of Acorns. 

This event is accessible to all and there’s loads of extra fun in the event village.

At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, and our fundraising is vital to enable us to continue providing care and support to the children: it costs around £11 million a year to run our care services.

What's involved?

We are looking for volunteers who can support with;

• Event set-up
• Course marshals
• Event village volunteers (tombola, merch stand, hook-a-duck, coconut shy etc.)
• Event pack-down
• Mascot (Alex the Acorn or others)

How much time will it take?

5pm-10pm (any hours between these times is fine and times are role dependent)

What's Involved?

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to support us at two exciting events. You’re welcome to get involved in just one—or both, if you’re available.

Role 1: 'Mile with a Mascot’ Event Volunteer

• Volunteer time: Around 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM
• Event time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Location: Along the event route

What you’ll be doing:

• Helping to guide and cheer on participants
• Bringing energy and encouragement along the route
• Chatting with families and interacting with our mascots
• We also need one volunteer to dress up as Alex the Acorn – you can either walk the mile or stay in one spot to wave and cheer

Role 2: Match Day Collection Volunteer – Walsall FC

• Volunteer time: Around 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
• Event: Walsall FC v Tranmere Rovers (Kick-off 3:00 PM)

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting our fundraising team with bucket collections
• Helping at the Acorns Tombola Stand
• One volunteer will be needed to dress up as Alex the Acorn again

We’ll provide a match ticket, water, and free car parking
