Job Title: Children and Family Worker
Location: Based on site in West London (This location is hidden due to the sensitive nature of the service) Unfortunately this service does not have step free access.
Salary: £27,007.50
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota Monday to Friday between 07:30 - 15:30, 09:00 - 17:00 and 11:30 - 19:30 with occasional Saturdays, at least one Saturday every 3 months between 09:00 - 17:00.
About the role
Are you passionate about providing safe and stable accommodation to women and children escaping domestic abuse? Wanting to help make a difference and provide specialist support to them to gain greater independence? This might be the role for you.
As a Children and Family worker, you will be based within our Women's Refuge service, supporting women and children up to the age of 15 who have escaped domestic abuse. You will deliver trauma-informed, child and family centred support to promote safety and wellbeing, working collaboratively with mothers to strengthen the parent-child relationship during a time of crisis. You will support with both emotional and practical day-to-day support. This is typically done through key work sessions, risk assessments, and empowerment focused activities.
You will play a vital role in supporting families, being the sole specialist within the service, which gives you autonomy to shape the role based on your expertise and experience. You will lead on child-focused support, as well as working part of the wider team to provide the support to mothers. You will deliver a range of support for children and young people, as well as family and parenting support.
About you
We are looking for someone who has a real passion to support families and children who have experienced domestic abuse. You will have a trauma-informed understanding of domestic abuse and the impact it has on families, and will be able to engage in sensitive conversations, recognising signs on trauma, and being proactive to support families to overcome this. This is a hands-on, active role, ideal for someone who is creative, energetic, and passionate about working directly with families. You will be a team player, able to collaborate and provide support to colleagues as needed.
- A background in working with adults and children, particularly from trauma affected backgrounds

As a member of the Admissions & support team, you will be supporting the recruitment and development of new social workers, who will then go onto change the lives of vulnerable children and families. You will play a key role in supporting the completion of all suitability checks (conduct, health and previous social care involvement) for Approach Social Work applicants, managing competing deadlines and multiple applicant cases at any one time.
The role requires a qualified social worker with experience of statutory practice and ideally substantial working knowledge of implementing reasonable adjustments in practice. The role involves primarily risk assessment to inform often difficult discussions around health, conduct and social care experience for applicants to Approach Social Work. Experience of taking part in panels, navigating sensitive discussion around criminal, conduct, previous social care involvement would be required.
Our suitability advisors are social work qualified and experienced members of the team who hold a vital position in ensuring all pre-programme checks are completed fully and fairly, for applicants to Approach Social Work. Please note, this role will be based at the Mole Valley Family Centre in Dorking (with travel around Mole Valley district depending on service user need).
You will co-ordinate, organise and facilitate the successful and safe provision of group services delivered in community venues across the borough: Singing for the Brain, Dementia Cafés and a Peer Support Group.
Our service delivery is both virtual and face to face, with a strong emphasis on community outreach and engagement. We particularly welcome applications from people who are representative of the communities we serve in Hounslow.
This is a home-based role, with frequent travel within the borough. Expenses are paid for travel.

About you
This is a rewarding front-line role that makes a real difference to the lives of people living with dementia. You will be working across a large and diverse community and will have the ability to communicate well with a wide variety of people and adapt to different settings.
- We are looking for someone with strong organisational and people skills who will help us to expand our reach and hold relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- You will need to demonstrate an understanding of dementia and the impact that it has on people’s lives. You will have the confidence to work independently, facilitating groups of people in community settings and managing volunteers.
- Experience of supporting similar groups, leading and co-ordinating person-centred engagement and activities, is highly desirable. The ability to travel independently within the borough is essential.

- Delivering regular activity and support groups at community venues
- Recruiting and supporting group volunteers
- Maintaining accurate records and capturing service user feedback

Temporary Community & Events Fundraising Officer – £18.68 per hour – London/Hybrid
Our charity-sector client is seeking an experienced Community & Events Fundraising Officer to join their team on an interim basis, covering the role while permanent recruitment is underway. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact and support a cause that changes lives.
The role
You’ll take the lead on delivering and developing a programme of community and challenge events, from local fundraising initiatives to major sponsored activities. Working closely with colleagues, you’ll provide excellent stewardship to supporters, develop engaging fundraising products, and help grow income and supporter engagement.
Key responsibilities:
Manage and deliver a portfolio of community fundraising and challenge events
Provide outstanding supporter care, ensuring fundraisers feel valued and inspired
Develop and maintain fundraising resources and materials
Work with colleagues to create and promote new community fundraising opportunities
Track performance, monitor budgets, and report on activity
Act as an enthusiastic ambassador for the charity’s work and mission
We’re looking for someone with:
Experience in community or events fundraising (charity sector)
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
A creative, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to work independently as well as part of a small team

Our client offers a range of quality, exciting and inclusive short break clubs and activities across Surrey and West Sussex for children and young people aged 5-17 with a disability and additional needs. They are now looking to recruit 2 Senior Children's Disability Coordinators (one for Reigate/one for Epsom), to oversee the delivery of high quality, stimulating, safe services for a range of children and young people.
As Senior Disability Coordinator you will plan and deliver a structured programme of enjoyable, recreational, high-quality activities to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities who attend Short Breaks clubs. You will coordinate and take responsibility for the planning, allocation of places, and sufficient staffing to ensure safe delivery of Short Breaks clubs, and will assist in the recruitment, training and ongoing development of the Disability staff team. You will h ave responsibility for processing new referrals, initial assessments, individual care plans and any associated risk assessments or specialist plans to ensure individual needs are met.
This exciting and rewarding role will require a passion for working with SEND as well as excellent coordination skills to manage the delivery of high quality, stimulating, safe services. Essential criteria:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant, with at least 10 years post qualification experience (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
- Extensive experience working in a financial leadership role within the Charity and Not for Profit sector
- Experience working with charity trading subsidiaries and dealing with entities singularly and as a group
- Experience of delivering Annual Reports and Accounts process end to end
- Experience implementing new financial systems and processes
- Strong leader with an authentic approach, able to build and empower a team
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial reports at Board level, and support non-finance manager with understanding financial information
