The Executive Assistant will play a key role in supporting and enabling the Chief of Staff to lead strategically by managing their diary, information flow, communications, and oversight of all aspects of Bishopthorpe Palace. They will be expected to take a hands- on approach in supporting the Chief of Staff in their operational responsibilities and wider engagement, monitoring workflow, preparing briefings and other writing, and assisting in monitoring and preparing budgets and budget reports. They will manage the Accounts Manager, the Team Administrator (F/T) and the Team Administrator (P/T) and help ensure that office support functions run smoothly and efficiently. This position combines high-level executive support, senior stakeholder management and supporting aspects of key functions at Bishopthorpe Palace.
The postholder will work independently and in collaboration with the Chief of Staff, supporting their delivery of the operational effectiveness and strategic priorities of the Archbishop's Office. This role is central to maintaining the rhythm and focus of the Archbishop's ministry and ensuring its alignment with the Gospel values of humility, service, and sacrifice.
It is important that the postholder demonstrates a diverse skills set, encompassing strong organisational and time management abilities, excellent research, interpersonal and communication and listening skills, and being proficient in using IT and office software. The person must be able to work within a wide-ranging team, be committed, have discretion, be proactive and be able to adaptability and take initiative.
- Enable the Chief of Staff to prioritise and lead on strategic responsibilities.
- Be the primary point of contact for incoming communication with the Chief of Staff, ensuring professionalism and confidentiality are maintained.
- Manage the Chief of Staff's diary, correspondence, and communication with clarity and accuracy, including responding to meeting requests and enquiries on behalf of the CoS.
- Filter and prioritise information and tasks to support effective decision-making.
- Monitor emails and incoming correspondence to ensure timely and appropriate responses are made, drafting responses as required.
- Make travel arrangements and bookings as needed, and submit expense claims.
- Represent the Chief of Staff as required, particularly on projects and internal group meetings.
- Manage and prepare research and briefing papers, and lead projects as required.
- Provide high-quality administrative and policy support on complex or sensitive matters.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement and representational duties of the Chief of Staff.
- Develop and manage systems for monitoring progress on strategic and operational priorities.
- Assist the Chief of Staff in supporting the Archbishop's involvement in Synods, Councils, and national Church bodies.
- Collaborate with project groups, internal colleagues and staff across the organisation as required to support on operational planning, decision-making processes, and staff coordination.

Where you’ll work
In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in London. While our Central Office is currently based in Tower Hill, London we plan to relocate in the summer of 2026 to a new space in Farringdon, London.

About the role
The Learning & Development Administrator provides administrative and coordination support across learning, development, and workforce planning activities. About the role
Sitting within our people and organisational development team and reporting into the senior learning & organisational development manager, you’ll support us with a wide range of administrative duties across the learning & development; people; equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and internal communications & engagement functions.

The Felix Project and FareShare have recently merged to form the UK's largest food redistribution charity. Its vision is a UK where good food is never wasted, and nobody goes hungry.
The organisation rescues high quality edible surplus food, from across the food industry and gets it to over 8,000 organisations across the UK who are working to strengthen communities and improve lives.
The charity manages seven depots across London, Suffolk, Merseyside and Hampshire and works with 16 network partners who operate a further 26 regional depots across the UK.
Over the next year our ambition is to rescue enough food nationally to provide nearly 200 million meals, turning an environmental problem into social good with measurable impact for people, planet, and the economy.
Job Purpose
Provide Executive Assistant support to senior executive leadership including Deputy CEO and Executive Director of Income Generation, and wider admin support to the Executive Leadership Team.
We require highly organised, self-reliant and a proactive Executive Assistant who works with high levels of autonomy and enjoys learning and develop.
Duties and Accountabilities
1. Support for the two executives includes:
- Executive Assistant to the Deputy CEO - ~50% of role
- Executive Assistant to Executive Director of Income Generation - ~40% of role
- Wider admin support to the Executive Leadership Team - ~10% of role
2. Support for the two executives includes:
- Strategic diary and time management – actively manages and sequences both executives’ calendars to protect focus time, align activity with strategic priorities, and minimise clashes.
- Scheduling and coordination – organise complex meetings and appointments, liaising confidently with internal stakeholders, external partners, donors, and senior contacts.
- End‑to‑end meeting support – plans and schedules meetings and events, prepares high‑quality agendas and materials, circulates pre‑reads, captures actions, and ensures timely follow‑up.
- Inbox oversight and triage – provides inbox management cover (e.g., during leave), prioritising messages, drafting responses, filtering requests, and ensuring executives receive only what requires their attention.
- Operational administration – maintains clear digital filing systems, documentation structures and record‑keeping practices to support continuity and ease of access.
- Stakeholder relationship management – builds strong, professional relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers, and the broader support team, ensuring seamless coordination across teams.
- Project and research support – undertakes ad‑hoc research, prepares summaries, gathers information, and provides hands‑on support for projects led by the executives.
- Representation and support in meetings – attend meetings on behalf of the executives when required, ensuring effective notetaking, action capture and follow‑through.
- Cross‑team collaboration – supports the senior management team as required, including providing cover for other administrative or support colleagues during periods of absence.
3. Support to wider Executive Leadership team includes:
- Travel and logistics management - arranges travel, accommodation and itineraries, ensuring efficient, cost‑effective and well‑coordinated plans.
- Meeting and event preparation - prepares venues and resources for in‑person and virtual meetings, ensuring technology, materials and setups are ready in advance.
- Finance and administrative processing - manages purchase orders, invoices, expense claims and other routine administrative workflows accurately and promptly.
- Organisation-wide support - provides flexible, ad‑hoc support across the organisation as directed by the Head of the CEO Office or Governance Manager.
- Cover for the CEO’s EA - provides planned cover for the CEO’s Executive Assistant during their leave or regular non‑working day (every Friday), ensuring continuity of support.
We deliver this surplus food to charities and schools so they can provide healthy meals and help the most vulnerable in our society.



Finance Manager

Age UK Redbridge, Barking and Havering is looking for a Finance Manager to take lead responsibility for the effective financial management of the organisation and ensure financial and accounting functions, supported through Quickbooks (or such other future software package), are discharged effectively.
Main responsibilities include entering all transactions in the appropriate ledgers and undertaking bank account reconciliations, preparing monthly and quarterly cost centre management accounts and reports in the required format as well as preparing yearend accounts for the charity and any associated trading companies for the annual audit.
The post holder will be maintain existing Quickbooks reports and write new ones as required, including reports for budgetary control that can be accessed by senior managers. To role also involves the processing of the monthly payroll by liaising with our payroll contractor to ensure timely payment of staff salaries, inland revenue payments and pension contributions and liaison with auditors during the annual audit and any other work required of them by the charity.
We are looking for individuals trained in Quickbooks accounting package who possess an accounting/bookkeeping qualification or equivalent experience. The post also requires demonstrable experience of financial management preferably gained within a charity or social enterprise setting, an understanding of Charity financial management and knowledge of Microsoft office and Quickbooks accounts experience.
In addition we are looking for good financial skills including financial modelling, management accounts and proper application of financial controls, expertise at pricing/unit costing/marginal costing as well as excellent organisational, business planning and budgeting skills. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information to service managers are also required.

The Role
The Careers Adviser will travel across East Sussex Regions to a broad range of school and college settings, delivering creative and inclusive Personal Careers Guidance, as well as assemblies and drop-in sessions as required.
Each student and each learning environment will be unique, so the opportunity lends itself well to candidates who enjoy traveling and working in varied locations, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and educating people of all abilities.
You will routinely liaise with Careers Leaders and senior school/ college staff to arrange and deliver activities for students during the school day. Whilst most delivery will take place between 8:30am and 4pm, travel before and after these times will be required and occasional attendance at parents’ and options evenings will also be required, but you will be given time off in lieu where this is applicable.
We would require you to work five days-a-week, term time only, with a pro rata holiday entitlement. If you would prefer part-time only employment (minimum of three days a week), this can be negotiated.

The General Manager will provide leadership and day-to-day operational management for the Natural Voice Network, ensuring smooth running of its activities and services. Working under the strategic direction of the Trustee Board, the General Manager will implement decisions, oversee the Administrator, and manage finances and communications at an operational level.
They will have delegated authority to make operational and financial decisions (within agreed limits) on behalf of the NVN and its Trustee Board, enabling trustees to focus on governance, strategy, and long-term development.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Manage the day-to-day running of the NVN, ensuring all activities are delivered efficiently and in line with the organisation’s values and policies.
- Maintain and store confidential documents and archives.
- Work closely with the Administrator to ensure smooth coordination of membership services, communications, and events.
- Support the development and implementation of the NVN’s strategic and annual plans.
- Represent the NVN in meetings and collaborations, acting as a central point of contact for members, partners, and external organisations.
- Assist with the organisation and delivery of NVN events, training, and gatherings (online and in person).
Financial Management
- Manage operational budgets and approve expenditure within agreed limits (e.g. up to £1,000 per transaction or as defined by the Trustee Board).
- Work alongside the Treasurer on financial planning, reporting, and compliance.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for trustee meetings.
Governance and Reporting
- Ensure systems are in place to support good governance, including accurate records, risk management, and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Prepare reports for the Trustee Board, highlighting progress, challenges, and key decisions.
- Keep policies and procedures up to date and support trustees in implementing policies and procedures, ensuring that staff and volunteers are informed and aligned.
- Oversee preparation of agendas, papers, and minutes for Trustee Board and working group meetings in collaboration with the chair and administrator.
- Manage trustee induction when new trustees are elected onto the Trustee Board.
Staff Supervision
- Line-manage the Administrator, setting clear priorities and providing regular supervision and support.
- Foster a positive, inclusive working culture consistent with the NVN’s ethos.
