Purpose of the Post
The Administrator will ensure the smooth running of the Devon Area and carry out administrative duties as required to ensure support direct service delivery and volunteer support across a number of different Devon.
Key responsibilities and duties
General
- Administrate whilst dealing sensitively with telephone, post and email enquiries, screening and directing calls and emails in line with procedures
- Work with the team to ensure that Referrals, Allocations, and Requests for Information are processed in accordance with the Cruse Service Model and all Cruse Policies and Standards, in particular the Standard for Access, Referral and Allocation.
- Prepare information for clients, prospective volunteers and funders
- Carry out administrative tasks associated with arranging conferences, training courses, study days, Devon Service Delivery committee meetings and other meetings as needed.
- Maintain a secure e-filing system and keep accurate and secure record systems, using the organisational database and in line with GDPR
- Act as key liaison person with the premises management including ensuring that we meet health and safety requirements, maintenance of office equipment and process for key holders.
- Maintain a supply of stationery and Cruse literature held at local level, for local distribution.
- Process financial transactions which may include receipts and payments, preparation of payment for suppliers and branch expenses.
- Provide support and work with the Fundraising Team to maximize local fundraising activities and the information gathering for fundraising applications
- Administer the online DBS process for Devon Bereavement Volunteers and staff.
Client and volunteer support
- Support the Devon Area with authorised communications to volunteers and clients including through newsletters, social media and the distribution of information in paper or electronic format
- Complete the booking and administration for the Understanding your Bereavement sessions, as part of the Cruse Client pathway
- Facilitate other bookings (such as venue bookings) to ensure that client work and volunteer support can take place in an efficient manner
- Accurately input data including evaluation feedback into the Cruse Information System and assist with reporting and monitoring to Funders and stakeholder, for quality purposes

Oxford Safe Haven
Oxford Safe Haven opened three years ago, initially providing support on four evenings a week - Friday till Monday. We now, have a potential opportunity to expand the service to seven days and seven evenings a week, and are looking for a committed and passionate group of people, to create a team, and be part of designing and delivering mental health support to those who are struggling to cope.
Oxford Safe Haven offers same day non-clinical support for those who struggle with their mental health and feel they are reaching a breaking point. People can self-refer, or be referred by a professional, to get an appointment for one-to-one support face to face or on the phone or access supportive group sessions focusing on refocusing activities. Our goal is to listen respectfully, offer support in creating and following safety plans, and direct service users towards resources available in the community. We provide the service in a welcoming, empathic and supportive way.
Purpose of the role
This role requires a good understanding of mental health and impact it has on people’s lives, and ability to support individuals in mental health crisis with empathy, whilst having clear boundaries. The role is suitable for people with experience in mental health or wellbeing setting. It is also a good fit for those with psychology degree, or with counselling background, although those qualifications are not required. Staff will be working rota hours including days, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Days will be split into two 7h shifts (11am-6.30pm and 4pm-11.30). The payment is adjusted for unsocial hours in the evenings (+33%) and on the weekends (+50%).
To work as part of a team to provide support for service users experiencing mental health crisis, including monitoring of group activities and conducting 1:1 sessions with service users face to face, on the phone and via online platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Support service users to develop self-management strategies and produce plans to make the best use of the local resources around them, to increase their ability to effectively manage mental health crisis.
- Develop effective working relationships with service users presenting in mental health crisis, with awareness of the significance of interpersonal dynamics, professional boundaries and team working.
- Respond to the needs of a developing service by providing a range of person-centred interventions that address the needs of service users holistically.
- Keep up to date with appropriate information about Oxfordshire Mind Wellbeing Services and other local providers of mental health services.
- Maintain awareness of and implement relevant aspects of best practice in holistic crisis support, liaising with Safe Haven colleagues to share learning as appropriate.
- Ensure the wellbeing and safety of service users, reporting any risk or safeguarding concerns to your line manager and colleagues, and liaising with appropriate bodies and partners as appropriate in line with Oxfordshire Mind organisational Safeguarding policy.
- Welcome new referrals to the project, carry out initial assessments and maintain accurate case records within the required data collection and reporting system.
- With support from the Safe Haven Manager, conduct regular, dynamic risk assessments and respond with appropriate interventions for service users who present in crisis and/or at high risk of harm, in line with organisational policy and risk assessment best practices.
- Liaise with statutory mental health teams, other agencies, and/or emergency services as appropriate to ensure service users receive safe and appropriate support and a consistent approach to crisis management.
- Work closely with partners, including collaborative work with service users at other venues as agreed, e.g. Emergency Departments, Adult Mental Health Teams and others.
About You
- Minimum of one-year experience of working within mental health, wellbeing or similar services.
- Experience of supporting others in mental health crisis, supporting them to ensure safe resolution or management of crisis.
- Experience of working in an often-demanding environment as part of a team and coping effectively.
- Positive attitude and understanding of mental health and sensitivity to the needs of people living with mental health problems.

- Record details, data collection and report outcomes of individual Warwick Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WEMWBS) scores, referrals and signposting follow-up actions including data entry within Oxfordshire Mind’s data collection and reporting system.
- Promote wellbeing to the wider communities within the hub locality.
- Work with individuals to identify their own hopes and goals, support them to develop a personal action plan to increase resilience and maintain wellbeing accessing support services available within the Wellbeing Service, Talking Space Plus and other mental health services including mainstream facilities.
2. Deliver Educational and Coping Skills Courses
- Contribute to the design, development and evaluation of courses and workshops in response to need.
- Deliver and/or co-deliver educational and coping skills courses within agreed protocols.
- Help develop course ground rules and procedures to maintain a safe environment.
- Actively promote Educational and Coping Skills courses to ensure information is accessible, widely available and current.
3. Facilitate Peer Support
- Develop, maintain and facilitate a broad range of appropriate and responsive wellbeing Peer Support Groups, whether geographical or experience based.
- Create and maintain a relaxed and accepting atmosphere alongside people, enabling them to share responsibility in the planning, developing and running of the Peer Support group.
- Work with people to develop ground rules and procedures to maintain a safe environment.
- Ensure that people have opportunities to develop appropriate skills required to become Peer Supporters.
- Offer support to people when they are in distress and enable them to access other help and support services as necessary.
About you
- Minimum of six months’ experience in a relevant setting

You will provide trauma-informed and person-centred support which includes drop-in sessions. Additionally you will prepare and review individual support plans with service users and support service users’ needs.
You must have previous experience in relevant sector or experience of working with vulnerable adults, especially women.

The ability to drive with a valid licence with use of own vehicle insured for business purposes is desirable.

Our Action for Young Carers service helps young people aged 5-18. As part of a small team of Support Workers you will work closely with Young Carers and their families in Nottingham City. The attributes of AYC Support Worker would be.

You will work alongside the day teams to help achieve the desired aim and goals of the services users. The successful candidate will have a passion and desire to develop and exceed the service users’ expectations of their personal growth.
Whilst you will be assisting in co-facilitating numerous groups you will also have the scope to work with external agencies to provide holistic support.
The role involves working out of hours, predominantly nights, and therefore you should be willing and able to work evenings and unsociable hours on a regular basis. The team operates on a five-week rolling rota and you will be expected to work the shifts in accordance with that.
The Duty Worker Team is led by the Support Services Team Leader, as part of the wider Project, and serves all women. Teamwork is key to all we do, and therefore you should be a strong team player, able to engage well with others and build a positive working environment for each other. The nature of the work is hugely rewarding but can also be challenging, which is why we look for people who are resilient, like a challenge and passionate about seeing the lives of homeless women transformed.
Salary: £25,836 per annum

To support the work of Coram-i Children and Social Care Secretariat by providing administrative support to the team, such as helping to organise meetings, making travel arrangements, providing project support and data entry and producing all communications for the Secretariat.
