WE ARE LOOKING FOR ASSISTANT CASE OFFICER TO WORK WITHIN OUR MISSION AND PASTORAL SERVICES TEAM
The Church Commissioners have the governance and management responsibility for the Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011, which provides a regulatory framework which enables the Church to support the provision of local worship, mission and ministry, and to adapt that provision as circumstances change over time. The Measures provides a decision-making process for changes relating to pastoral change, ministry provision change and church building change. The Commissioners also deal with processes under the Church Property Measure 2018 and the Church Commissioners' Chancel Repair Liability Measure.
The purpose of the role is to oversee and manage the decision making processes and provide advice under the Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011 (MPM), the Church Property Measure 2018 (CPM), and related legislation (including the Patronage (Benefices) Measure 1986 and the Church Representation Rules, and responsibilities relating to chancel repair liability (CRL). A major part of the team's role is to support the transition from the existing MPM, to a new Measure, and the related transition programme which will be rolled out to dioceses and parishes over between 2024 to 2027.
The Assistant CO post will work with mainly with the M&PS case officers to decision making and case work under the requirements of the legislation set out above. They will also work closely with the team managers to plan and manage the casework load and support the decision making processes of the Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee.
Main Responsibilities
Conduct research into a range of technical and legal matters, including verifying the legal names of parishes and benefices, patronage details, and responding to related queries.
Draft and publish Mission and Pastoral Measure (MPM) schemes for consultation, ensuring accuracy and clarity throughout the process.
Support Case Officers in presenting MPM or Church Property Measure (CPM) decisions to the Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee, and assist with any subsequent appeals.
Assist the M&PS Operations Manager in planning committee visits, public hearings, and other operational tasks associated with committee meetings.
Contribute to the planning and monitoring of casework and performance reporting, working closely with the M&PS Operations Manager.
Coordinate and manage internal and external meeting processes related to the above functions, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Provide administrative support for the implementation of the new Mission and Pastoral Measure and the Measure concerning Chancel Repair Liability.
Offer support in record management and data governance, including preparing briefings and information for performance and risk management purposes using dedicated data systems.
Help the M&PS Operations Manager with planning and coordinating team activities such as monthly meetings, away days, and special events.
Assist with communications activities, including the distribution of regular e-newsletters to diocesan teams.
Support the coordination and promotion of the diocesan training programme.
Assist with financial processes related to departmental expenditure, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Contribute to audit and risk management processes, maintaining high standards of accountability.
Provide briefings and information to support internal NCI processes, including responses to General Synod or Parliamentary questions, and preparing materials for the Board of Governors and senior officers.
Deliver general administrative support to the M&PS team, including handling post and printing tasks.
Undertake any required specialist or generalist training to support the role effectively.
All responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the Mission and Pastoral Measure Code of Recommended Practice.

- A salary of £40,572, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

Purpose of the role
- To provide excellent customer care to all donors, delivering optimum supporter journeys working effectively with the wider team within the Royal Star & Garter (RSG) group
- To manage all associated fundraising payment processes and procedures and work effectively with finance to manage safe and effective banking and reconciliations
- To provide fundraising support across the department and locations of our services in respect of a range of activities including fundraising events
- To support the High Value Events & Corporate Manager in time bound projects as and when necessary
Supporter care
- To be proactive in enabling the supporter journey with timely communications (phone, email and letters) and clear stewardship with both existing and new donors
- Ensure effective frontline support and response for donors across a range of incoming systems
- Ensure donation processes and procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely manner, in accordance with guidelines – updating those wherever required with approval by the RSG Fundraising Officer.
Donations and data entry
- Ensure that the fundraising CRM database is up to date and that supporters contact and financial data is accurate, including creating new records
- Complete weekly banking and allocation tasks in accordance with the approved process, liaising with the finance department to ensure that all batched income is allocated correctly
- Data inputting on the CRM to include: regular giving, importing income from external agencies including CAF and Just Giving, processing Gift Aid and accurately storing declarations
- Filing and management of paperwork, ensuring due diligence and security measures are followed.
Fundraising & volunteer support
- To provide active support to a range of events including: managing participants, sending information, monitoring online giving pages and on the day set up and pack down
- To directly source donated items and contributors to support fundraising events including raffle/auction prizes and coordinating suppliers, stallholders and entertainers
- Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for events and corporate volunteering days and activities, ensuring they are briefed and supported
- To support any regular mailings or email contact to supporters, assisting with the cleaning and compliance of data once an agreed annual schedule is in place regular.
Other
- To manage all aspects of incoming fundraising post and dedicated inboxes along with outgoing mailings
- Ensure general department are kept up to date including attendance at meetings within RSG group wherever possible
- To be conversant with relevant fundraising legislation and the guidelines of the
Fundraising Regulator and the GDPR
- To undertake other duties as may be required and which are consistent with the nature of the role.
Knowledge and experience:
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment, preferably within fundraising
- Good working knowledge of CRM database
- Experience of banking processes and consistent financial reconciliation
- Ability to manage a busy workload meeting deadlines

We’ve partnered with 4 schools across London to bring our free community meal to their families after school hours, with the additional goal of helping connect families with each other and the school and introducing kids to new healthy food.
We’re looking for some additional help over the next 6 months to support the volunteer teams on site and make these meals happen. You’ll need to have an interest and experience in working with kids and families!
By joining us you’ll gain an understanding of different aspects of local project delivery for a national charity. You’ll be hands-on and have an immediate impact each day, leading small teams of volunteers who cook in the kitchen and host our guests to create a positive and welcoming environment and a nutritious vegetarian meal.
Our school meals happen on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and we would ideally like you to work your hours across these three afternoons/evenings. You’ll be supporting 2 meals per week on average, with around 5 hours required per meal. That leaves 5 additional hours to join team meetings and complete other duties.
You’ll be supported by our experienced operational team, and we will equip you with a package of training and shadowing, including specific training around food safety, safeguarding and working within the lively environment of schools!

We are delighted to be supporting an international environmental organisation in their search for a Communications Assistant to join their External Affairs team. This is a full-time role, offered on a temporary basis, for 3-months in the first instance and 1-day per week onsite in Central London.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:
- Supporting the communications and digital teams with campaign materials, media monitoring, and process documentation.
- Assisting with the creation and updating of briefing documents, guidelines, and key messaging.
- Researching journalists and media outlets to support high-profile legal cases.
- Setting up and managing media monitoring platforms and dashboards.
- Responding to supporter enquiries and contributing to year-end appeal efforts.
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- Fluent English (CEFR level C2) and strong written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and design tools such as Canva.
- Knowledge of the media landscape and excellent attention to detail.

The Role
An experienced and highly organised Personal Assistant is sought to provide proactive support to three members of the senior Leadership Team. This is a critical role that will enable the Directors to focus on strategic priorities by ensuring efficient and seamless operational support. The post-holder will be confident working across multiple diaries and systems and able to build trust quickly with colleagues and stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include diary and inbox management, meeting coordination, document drafting, travel arrangements and general executive support. The role will also involve acting as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling correspondence with discretion and professionalism. There will also be opportunities to support wider team operations and assist the Executive Assistant as needed.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will bring prior experience in a Personal Assistant role supporting multiple senior leaders. You will be highly organised, calm under pressure and adept at managing competing demands. Strong written and verbal communication skills, alongside excellent attention to detail and discretion in handling confidential matters, are essential.
You will be confident using Microsoft Office, diary and inbox management tools, and supporting hybrid meetings via platforms such as Zoom or Teams. The ability to work independently, use initiative, and demonstrate sound judgement is key. Experience in the non-profit or charity sector, and familiarity with tools like Salesforce or Cascade, would be advantageous but not essential.

To manage IRUK’s switchboard and phone enquiry system and to administer the entry of data on the fundraising database. This will include processing donations, updating supporter details, maintaining supporter records, and ensuring that information held is accurate, appropriate and up to date.
The successful candidate must have:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Experience of using databases
- Excellent customer service experience
- Experience of working with sensitive information
- Experience of and passion for, delivering excellent supporter care

The Role:
