The Commercial Partnerships team develops promising ideas into successful cancer therapeutics, vaccines, diagnostics and enabling technologies. We're looking for a dedicated Administrative Assistant for the Children and Young People's (CYP) Therapeutic Discovery. The role involves handling a variety of tasks, including scheduling meetings, booking conferences, training courses, travel and accommodation, organising files, preparing documents, and assisting with general office duties.
Key duties include:
Booking travel arrangements, conferences, and training courses.
Arranging external meetings and events.
Arranging all aspects of internal meetings, including booking rooms and ordering catering and pre-registering external visitors onto reception.
Taking minutes at meetings when required and circulating agenda and papers.
Processing invoices and purchase orders.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations and other documentation.
Diary management for senior individuals.
Ad hoc administrative duties requested by management.

Experience of managing busy diaries which are primarily externally focused.

Job Description:

Duties and key responsibilities:
Office Maintenance
- Oversee the general maintenance of the office.
- Manage office supplies by tracking office inventory and replenishing supplies including kitchen and stationery.

- Organise travel and accommodation bookings across the whole charity including fundraising events.

The Hepatitis C Trust develops projects nationally where peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C to support people who have similar backgrounds.
Working collaboratively with the local Substance Misuse Service in Liverpool, we are expanding this commitment through the introduction of a Harm Reduction Peer Support Lead to support the delivery of a peer led Harm Reduction service in this area.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work on their own, engage with stakeholders and have a desire to make a difference through the delivery of the service. The postholder will be responsible for recruiting and supervising peers with lived experience and facilitating primary and secondary needle and syringe distribution across the area.

The Role
The role of Shop Manager involves actively running our new shop in Hull and implementing processes and ways of working.
As our Shop Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop including managing a Deputy Shop Manager and team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures.
Specifically, you will:

Manage and be accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards.

Be responsible for ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and window displays.

Be responsible for attracting and recruiting a team of new volunteers, ensuring they are well trained and take every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment.

Be responsible for ongoing volunteer training and engagement, ensuring the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date.

Be responsible for ensuring the team are working towards achieving all key performance indicators.

Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received).

Prepare and complete all shop administration including cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to charity policy and procedures.

Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:

To be ideally educated to A Level or equivalent.

To have experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development.

To have previous retail experience in charity sector or commercial sector is desirable.

To have experience of meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment.

The Role
As our Deputy Shop Manager you will be responsible for setting up our brand-new shop in Hull, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.
You will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, including managing a team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures. You will lead by example and ensure that volunteers, supporters, donors, and customers understand how their contributions are making a difference to the lives of people in Yorkshire and beyond.
Specifically, you will:

Play an active part in running our shop in Hull, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.

Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity.

Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation.

Manage a team of well-trained volunteers in the absence of the Shop Manager and take every effort to create a happy retail environment.

Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received).

Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes.
