WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN:

Be the main point of contact for all finance and operational queries

Support the Chief Operating Officer with the management of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Manage the accounts payable function, credit card reconciliations and support effective cash management

Support the Head of People and Development to implement strategies on Fundraising, income and generation and report on funding from various sources, including grants, donors, and partnerships.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Vicar of St John the Divine to ensure the strategic priorities of the St John the Divine Resourcing Church network – currently St John the Divine Kennington, St Faith’s North Dulwich, and the Korean congregation at St James’ Malden – are delivered. Through exceptional research, bid writing and stewardship you will focus on securing six-figure plus funding partnerships and mange relationships for long term impact.
Research
- Research and identify prospective trusts and foundations and other grant giving bodies
- Grow and maintain a strong trust funding pipeline, creating new trust prospects for our priority funding areas
Fundraising
- Identify and manage a pipeline of high-value prospects and opportunities which have the potential of delivering five and six figure grants.
- Work with colleagues across Auditory Verbal UK to develop and submit high-value and high-quality trust and foundation bids, creating a compelling narrative, budget and outcomes for a range short, medium and long term projects towards our vision
- Develop personalised relationships with Trust and Foundation trustees and trust administrators, maximising every opportunity for cultivation and development
- Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view AVUK’s work first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met
- Represent AVUK at face-to-face meetings with donors and prospects, successfully engaging them with the charities aims and objectives
Reporting
- Compile comprehensive and compelling progress reports to feed back to grant makers in a timely fashion and incentivise continued support

We aim to deliver world class education, training and CPD in a wide range of new and exciting formats, in response to current and future market needs. In 2022/3 the Education team ran 39 events over the year, including 12 virtual events, 11 face-to-face events – including two that were hybrid, and 16 webinars.
JOB SUMMARY
This post is central to the activities of the BIR. The role-holder will ensure effective planning, marketing and delivery of the BIR’s educational events, which includes a combination of both in-person and virtual events. The role is hands-on and often involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You must be able to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You must be able to work well under pressure, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of an event. Some UK travel and out of hours working is involved.
MEETINGS PROGRAMME/TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
• To plan, coordinate and manage the educational events programme (currently approximately 39 events per year).
• To plan, develop and market the annual events calendar in a timely manner.
• To liaise as required with the Education Committee, Special Interest Groups and Regional Branches ensuring that educational events are proposed and organised within the annual events calendar (involved from inception to delivery).
• To attend and brief all BIR Special Interest Groups and Regional Branches on performance of meetings and events. This includes post-event evaluations (including data entry and analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders and Education Committee).
• Lead the delivery of our key annual events, including managing logistics, administration and engaging with speakers, delegates and sponsors at the event.
• To assist in delivering the education programme in a wide range of new and exciting formats.
• To undertake market research to identify opportunities for events.
• To work closely with ‘event leads’ to ascertain their precise event requirements. Also, responsible for bringing any deviation or potential risk to the programme to the attention of the Director of Educational Development in a timely manner.
• To source and develop relationships with sponsors, event exhibitors and corporate members
• To ensure that all tasks required to produce successful events are allocated to the appropriate staff member and to support staff in performing those tasks. To monitor income against budget and ensure that the BIR income is maximised through delivering excellent programmes and through creative use of facilities.
• To act as an ambassador for the BIR and foster strong relationships with stakeholders including sister organisations and industry contacts
• To prepare the annual budget forecasts for the coming year and monitor and report against performance during the year.
• To scope, secure and book suitable venues or locations for events.
• To ensure health and safety, insurance and legal obligations are adhered to.

Main responsibilities
Banstead Pantry Management
· Oversee Pantry opening hours, engaging with members and volunteers to ensure community needs and relationships are the focus of the service.
· Manage the ongoing operations of the Pantry by staying up-to-date with all statutory regulations and guidelines pertinent to the running of the Pantry, such as the Food Standards Agency and the Environmental Health Department, ensuring compliance and good record keeping.

Job Responsibilities
The General Manager is integral to the management of Deptford X and the delivery and development of its ambitious programmes. The General Manager works closely with the Director and Board of Trustees as part of a small and supportive team to contribute actively and creatively to the development of the organisation, as well as overseeing daily and organisational operations. The General Manager supervises office management, communications, administration, financial management, staffing, programme delivery logistics, reporting and evaluation; and works collaboratively with the Director on strategic and financial development, including embedded environmental sustainability. In addition to the above, the General Manager will lead on developing and dynamically integrating Deptford X's access and care agenda.

Location: We have a hybrid working model outside of festival delivery times. We have an office at Lewisham Arthouse in Deptford/Brockley and also offer the option to work 2 days a week from home.

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated fundraiser to join our small team to manage income and relationships from a range of funders.
You will support the charity that manages the Commons by increasing income from a range of philanthropic sources by building relationships with supporters, developing grant funded projects and delivering fundraising campaigns and events. Key Responsibilities
Cashbook Processing
- Manage the cashbook processing of the different offices.
- To check the accuracy of the cashbook returns from the different offices. To ensure the returns tie back to the bank statements and the entries are supported by receipts. To ensure the coding is correct
- To provide training to the offices on the cashbook processes and return and to provide guidance in line with the Finance manual.
- To upload the cashbook entries onto the accounting systems in line with the monthly Finance timetable.
- To ensure the cashbook entries tie back to the payroll journal
Invoice processing and payment
- Lead on the invoice processing on the SUN accounting system of the organisation.
- Ensuring all suppliers are properly approved prior to setting up on the system
- Ensuring all invoices are approved by the budget holders prior to processing on the accounting system.
- Produce a fortnightly payment run for sign-off by the Finance & Operations Director.
- Ensure the automated payments are processed accurately through the banking system.
- Resolve all payment queries.
- Process journals from the Concur staff expenses system onto Sun Systems on a monthly basis
Balance Sheet Control account reconciliations
- Produce monthly reconciliation for balance sheet control accounts of the organisation, which includes bank & salary control accounts
- Support the Finance Manager in maintaining a monthly balance sheet control reconciliation file, and support in other control account reconciliations.
Partnership Fee
- Produce Partnership Fee invoices on a yearly basis
- To provide regular progress reports for Directors on the status of Partnership Fee invoices.
Systems control and Development
- Support the Finance and Operations Director in developing efficient systems and processes throughout the organisation
Budgeting
- Support in the preparation of the international office budgets
Management Accounts
- Preparation of International Management Accounts, including the commentary on a monthly basis
Year end
- Support in helping resolve Auditors’ queries and providing information and explanation required for audit purposes.
- Support in preparation of year end schedules
- Support in the preparation of the statutory accounts for various entities of Crisis Action
Donor Reports
- Support the Head of Finance in preparation of Donor reports
Cash flow
- Support on the preparation of the cash flow statement.
Payroll

- Ensure all financial records are filed correctly on SharePoint

Administration

As Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser you will:

- Undertake detailed prospect research and maintain accurate records of the research for Lesley Hynes Fundraising clients.
- Write funding applications on behalf of Lesley Hynes Fundraising clients and assist in drafting and reviewing funder reports.
- On occasion assist in the organisation of events in order to present Lesley Hynes Fundraising clients’ case for support, and attend external meetings with Trusts and Foundations if the client requires.
