ULI Europe requires an experienced, highly-organised individual to work closely with the CEO of ULI Europe, Chair of the ULI Charitable Trust, Chief (Philanthropic) Fundraising Officer and VP of Business Development and Membership to administer and support the growth of ULI’s philanthropic fundraising work in Europe.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager of Philanthropic Fundraising will serve as the cornerstone of administrative support for ULI’s philanthropic fundraising initiatives in Europe.

 The role will report to the Vice President, Business Development & Membership on a day-to-day basis and work closely with the Chair of the ULI Charitable Trust and CEO ULI Europe. The role will have a functional reporting line to the Chief (Philanthropic) Fundraising Officer.

This position requires excellent organisational, administrative, and stakeholder management skills, particularly within the charity or philanthropic sector.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative and management support to the philanthropic fundraising initiatives of the ULI Charitable Trust (and the CT Board of Trustees / ULIF Europe Committee) and ULI Europe, including fundraising campaigns, donation tracking, gift processing, and donor stewardship in cooperation with the ULI Finance team in the US. 
• Oversee and coordinate design and development of marketing collateral, presentations supporting fundraising campaigns, in collaboration with the ULI Europe Marketing and Communications team.
• Collaborate closely with the ULI Europe Business Development and Membership team, ULI’s country directors, and the governance director to support the planning and implementation of the European philanthropic fundraising strategy set by the CT Board of Trustees / ULIF Europe Committee.
• Coordinate and maintain relationships with individual and institutional donors,, in close collaboration with the corporate accounts team, CEO, ULI Europe and the Chair of the Charitable Trust / Chair of the ULIF Europe Committee;
• Work in close collaboration with Research & Advisory Services and ESG Programmes colleagues, to identify and research (third party) philanthropic funding and grant opportunities and assist in the preparation of applications for philanthropic funding from (third party) foundations and government agencies;
• Coordination of proposal writing for potential foundation funding, in close collaboration with the research, marketing communications and legal and compliance teams.
• Develop and manage internal processes for grant compliance, application tracking, reporting, and gift acknowledgement for ULI Europe.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Experience working in an operations, administration, or governance role within a UK or European charity, charitable trust, or foundation.
• Experience working in an international business environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

In this role, you will support a steering group of volunteer parents and carers who oversee the running of the Forums.  Your excellent organisational skills will ensure parents and carers have a voice at key local meetings, plus you will arrange monthly events for parents and carers such as workshops with key local decision-makers.  You will provide opportunities for parents and carers to develop their own networks of support through WhatsApp & social media, and oversee the publication of bi-annual newsletter. You will line-manage a Forum Administrator who will support you and the work of the Forums.

You would  research potential funding partners, write grant applications, and manage successful partnerships, including trusts, foundations, corporate groups, and statutory sources. Some charity-sector fundraising experience is desirable.. The ability to draft inspiring narratives for different audiences, as well as creating programme budgets using spreadsheets are crucial aspects to this role.. You would research and attend relevant events and identify other such opportunities to promote Pragya’s work, to network, and to learn about the latest research and trends in international development. You would contribute to Pragya’s social media posts, campaigns, and the charity’s administrative needs. A basic lf knowledge of video editing and media tools like Canva would be an advantage.

Role Purpose

The Operations Director is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of all operational aspects of Katherine Low Settlement. The Database and Gifts Officer role is integral to the Development and Alumnae Relations (DAR) department, supporting the school’s fundraising and engagement efforts. About the role: The main purposes of the Projects Coordinator role are:

• Coordinating the administration of all aspects of Tender’s training programmes for adults across the organisation, with a focus on the coordination of our INSET work with schools.
• Supporting the Head of Adult Services and Service Delivery Lead (Adult Services) to manage relationships with Tender’s internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, workshop leaders, teachers/carers, delivery partners and other service professionals
• Monitoring and evaluating the impact of Tender’s training sessions

Success in this role would mean that, after six months, you will have:

• Successfully coordinated the delivery of our adult training sessions in schools and youth settings
• Built good working relationships with the schools and settings we work in, and the facilitators who deliver our work
• Supported and worked flexibly with the Head of Adult Services and other colleagues to ensure the high quality and continued improvement of our work
• Use Tender’s data management systems, such as Microsoft 365 and Salesforce, confidently and in line with Tender’s policies

Essential requirements:

• Level 3 qualification in developing and delivering domestic violence training, or equivalent experience and a willingness to undertake the Level 3 training
• Proficiency in office software, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Ability to coordinate complex projects involving a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrate commitment to safeguarding and equal opportunities

IPSEA is the leading charity in the field of special educational needs and disability (SEND) law in England, and we provide free and independent legal advice and support to families of children and young people with SEND. We also provide training on the SEND legal framework, and we influence policy at both a local and national level.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Trusts and Philanthropy Officer to join our small, ambitious fundraising team. IPSEA has a proven track record of successfully securing grants, and this is a new role designed to help strengthen and grow IPSEA’s income from charitable Trusts and Foundations. You will be responsible for researching new funding opportunities, preparing and submitting tailored applications and reports, and managing relationships with existing funders through thoughtful and timely stewardship. You will also support the early development of strategies in major gifts and wider philanthropy. 

This role is an opportunity to play a key role in our future fundraising strategy and help secure long-term financial sustainability for our services. 

You will work remotely, with occasional travel required for essential meetings approximately 4-5 times per year.

The role:

This is a key role within the Executive Leadership team, with accountability for Finance, Procurement and IT at the Globe. You will work collaboratively with the CEO and Executive leadership team to drive strong business as usual delivery, and provide provide balanced insight to Executive Leadership Team and the Senior Leadership Group so that they can take responsibility for questioning routines and rituals, and for streamlining processes that improve efficiency.

The Finance Director is the lead on the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) and is a key part of other relevant committees. You will also attend and report at Board meetings, developing strong working relationships with Board members, the Artistic Director, Executive Leadership members, members of the Senior Leadership Group (SLG), the Finance and Procurement team, the Globe’s IT contractor, and colleagues throughout the Globe.

The skills:

· Chartered Accountant.

· Extensive Director level business experience in a complex organisation.

· A strategic thinker with entrepreneurial instincts

· Demonstrable experience in managing contracts.

· Experience within the charities sector including understanding of the relevant accounting, taxation and other regulatory requirements this presents.

· Empathy with the work, aims and mission of the Globe including an appreciation of the balance between the charitable purpose and commercial imperatives.

· An effective and flexible leadership and management style with demonstrable ability to inspire, motivate, coach and develop a team.

· Credibility and authority to work effectively and liaise internally with senior staff and externally with Trustees and other stakeholders.

· An excellent negotiator and influencer with string emotional intelligence and good communication skills.

· Analytical problem-solving ability with the appetite and energy to evaluate, challenge and change the status quo.

· Experience in financial and risk compliance and governance issues.

· Accessible and inclusive report writing and presentation skills demonstrated as a part of Board level reporting.

· Positive, determined, pragmatic, and resilient – able to inspire confidence and respect.

· The ability to work flexibly in a creative, fast-moving environment and understand the importance of artistic risk taking and to respond positively to it.

· Experience in, or a personal interest in the arts, heritage/museum, or creative industries.

· Experience of managing IT contracts or IT staff.

The team:

The Finance Department provides timely and accurate financial information to key stakeholders while protecting Shakespeare’s Globe assets and ensures compliance with laws and regulations in relation to financial and taxation matters. Serving as a key partner on topics requiring economic, financial and value for money inputs and expertise, the Finance Department manages Accounting and Financial Reporting, Tax, Banking Relationships, Procurement, Financial Risk Management, Contracts, Management Reporting, and external audit partners

Development Operations Officer
Duration: Temporary - 4 months
Start Date: 7th May 2025
Working Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week) - open to part-time arrangements (minimum 3 days per week). Core hours are 10:00-18:00
Hourly Pay: £19.78 per hour + £2.39 holiday pay (equivalent to annual salary of £36,000 FTE)

About the Role
Charity People is pleased to be working with the UK's national academy of sciences to recruit a Development Operations Officer to join their Development team during a busy period.

This role plays an essential part in ensuring smooth gift processing, accurate record keeping, and effective administrative support for the team. It will suit someone who is methodical, confident with data systems, and committed to maintaining excellent supporter care standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, check, and log incoming donations; manage giving platforms such as CAF and PayPal
• Maintain accurate records of philanthropic income and produce quarterly reports
• Work with Finance to reconcile income records and process Gift Aid claims
• Prepare and send donor acknowledgements and communications
• Support with data entry, reporting, and maintenance of the CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics)
• Provide administrative assistance to the Head of Development and broader Development team
• Schedule meetings, coordinate team activities, support event planning, and manage travel logistics
• Maintain up-to-date filing systems and order office supplies as needed

Essential Experience & Skills

• Experience with gift processing, donor stewardship, or financial administration in a fundraising or nonprofit setting
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Raiser's Edge, ThankQ)
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
• Understanding of data protection and fundraising compliance (desirable)
• Familiarity with Gift Aid and tax-efficient giving (desirable)
