Hillside Clubhouse is recruiting an IPS Employment Specialist to join our dynamic Islington team, supporting people with mental health conditions to gain and retain employment. The IPS Employment Specialists within the Islington IPS Service work within the nationally recognised IPS (Individual Placement and Support) model within NHS secondary and primary care mental health teams, based in the heart of Islington.

Hillside Clubhouse is a co-produced mental health employment support charity working across Islington. People can access our services via our Clubhouse, where they can share their skills and expertise with others and support the running of the charity.  Alternatively, they can receive support out in the community from one of our Employment Specialists based within NHS mental health teams.

The Role: 

We are recruiting for one IPS Employment Specialist role within our Islington IPS Service. This position will be based within the North London NHS Foundation Trust mental health services in the borough of Islington.

As an IPS Employment Specialist, you’ll play an important role in supporting people with lived mental health experience on their recovery journey by supporting them back into paid employment. This is an opportunity to offer ongoing support, to motivate and provide people with hope, while developing the tools and skills required to recover - ultimately transforming their lives.

A variety of skills are needed in this post including but not limited to: a strong ability to develop empathy and rapport with clients; a determined approach to seeking out job opportunities; a person centric-approach to working with people; strong communications skills to motivate clients; strong administrative capabilities and an attention to detail engage with prospective employers via business development and face-to-face meetings, as well as to be able to challenge some perceptions around mental health. 

The postholder will be directly employed by Hillside Clubhouse but work under an Honorary Contract from the North London NHS Foundation Trust.  They will be managed directly by the IPS Operations Manager but work as team member within the clinical team. The role is dynamic and involves being integrated in a clinical team, working within the community, and we operate a flexible working policy where working from home is also permitted up to two days per week.

Overall Aim: 

To enable people with mental health issues to gain and sustain competitive employment by working within the evidence-based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.

Our Fundraising Assistant will provide key administrative support to the Fundraising Team. Being based primarily at our Shrewsbury office, this person will be a key point of contact for our supporters in the office, and will assist with managing online fundraising platforms, email and phone communications and ensuring fundraising materials are ready and waiting to go out into the community.

What the job involves

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and it’s harming too many lives. At Prostate Cancer UK, one of our top priorities is funding research that leads to real change. It’s vital we do our best to make sure this research makes a meaningful difference to men’s lives, and that’s where you come in. 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Research Officer to help us deliver our funding schemes and patient and public involvement work.  This role sits in the Research Funding Team and will provide us with support across our grant funding schemes, ensuring we are following best practise in research funding. 

You’ll take responsibility for a small portfolio of active research grants, providing support and guidance to the researchers leading them. You’ll be a main point of contact for grant applicants, supporting them as they apply to us and will be responsible for running peer review. Using your understanding of research funding and administration, you’ll help make sure our funding schemes run smoothly and to time. You’ll work with colleagues to support patient and public involvement in research both in our review process and through our Patient Representative Network who help researchers make sure their work is focussed on the needs of men with prostate cancer.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Senior Research Officer who is passionate about research and has a desire to develop knowledge of prostate cancer. You’ll hold a biomedical degree (or a degree in a related science subject), or with equivalent experience gained in research funding, administration or the wider research sector.

You’ll already have a good grasp of how grant funding works with demonstrable experience of research administration and peer review. Confidence in interpreting complex scientific information is important, as you’ll be using this knowledge to find the right people to peer review the grant applications that are submitted to our schemes.  You’ll have experience of supporting scientific meetings, preferably research funding committees, and understand the importance of capturing accurate minutes to provide constructive feedback to applicants.

You're also an accurate record keeper with a keen eye for detail and excellent time management skills. You're assured and clear in your communication, both written and verbal, and you're able to respond to a wide range of inquiries from researchers while always adhering to data protection and confidentiality best practices.  Experience of using Symplectic’s Grant Tracker or other grant management systems would be an advantage but is not essential.

About the job role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Support Administrator in our First Contact Team at St Joseph’s Hospice. We are looking for someone who has experience in administration and working in a healthcare environment.

The First Contact Team is a dynamic one-stop service that transforms the way patients and referral agencies access the Hospice’s services. An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Administrator to join the First Contact Team. If you are a successful applicant, you will be part of the team that acts as the first point of contact for the Hospice’s services. You will answer telephone calls from people who may be in difficult and stressful situations, provide advice and signpost to other services or agencies. You will also undertake associated administration and data entry.

The service operates 24 hours over seven days a week for advice, whilst referrals will be taken mainly in daytime hours. You will work 37.5 hours every week. Shift patterns will vary, and you will be expected to cover shifts from Monday through Friday, 8.00 am to 9.00 pm, plus occasional weekends according to the rota.

This important role supports the operational delivery of the charity’s busy events programme and supports the team and running the office.

The events programme is diverse - from drinks receptions and report launches to events at agricultural shows across the UK - and support on administration for the wider charity, including some communications activity. Through these events, we drive awareness of our work supporting family farms and rural communities. In doing so we also garner support from funders to tackle the issues facing the countryside, ensuring our work reaches a diverse audience to raise awareness.

Under the direction of the Head of External Affairs, and with support of the wider staff team, you will be responsible for coordinating and running all the charity’s events, including full administrative support, booking venues, the invitation process and guest lists, organisation of collateral (including marketing and promotional information), catering arrangements and researching and inviting speakers. You will be also ensuring effective follow-up to each event such as wider dissemination of event content, evaluation, and reporting.

Working on events will account for approximately 75% of the role. The remaining time will be spent working across the charity undertaking a variety of administrative tasks. This will include supporting the team with mailings, coordination of specific activities and some general office management. Whilst reporting to the Head of External Affairs, this role will work closely with several team members, particularly the Executive Support & Governance Manager, providing a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of different aspects of the charity’s work.

What we are looking for

This is an important role, and we’d like you to have a sound working knowledge of end-to-end event management and office experience within a charity or other professional environment.  To be successful you will be required to demonstrate a confident attitude supported by good written and verbal communication skills.  You must be comfortable using Microsoft office suite, events management platforms and our CRM system (currently Salesforce). You will be able to manage your time and prioritise your workload.  An ability to engage with a wide range of people is also advantageous. Most of all is the desire to provide first class customer service.

This position requires you to be a reliable individual with a detailed, methodical and organised approach who can work independently as well as part of a team. You will enjoy detail and managing data, all this supported by an interest in our work and the desire to develop a successful programme of events. You must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.

The Wildlife Trusts are a grassroots movement of people from a wide range of backgrounds and all walks of life, who believe that we need nature and nature needs us. About You

The Senior Media Officer will work to promote The Wildlife Trusts and our work, activities and messages to UK audiences through the national media, with a view to influencing key stakeholders, public opinion and action for nature’s recovery. You will also develop and manage strategic relationships with the media and work to actively protect and enhance The Wildlife Trusts’ brand and Reputation. 

Working within our small but brilliant national media team, the Senior Media Officer will work to promote The Wildlife Trusts and our work, activities and messages to UK audiences through the national media, with a view to influencing key stakeholders, public opinion and action for nature’s recovery. From commentary on Government policy, through landscape recovery and restoration of iconic habitats such as Britain’s lost rainforests, to people organising for nature in their communities – we want our stories to be heard far and wide. You will develop and manage strategic relationships with the media and work to actively protect and enhance The Wildlife Trusts’ brand and reputation. We are looking for an innovative and creative individual who has proven research, writing, editing, sub-editing and proof-reading skills. You will have previous experience of generating compelling news stories and features and ideally publicising campaigns, combined with the ability to sell-in stories to journalists and editors. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be organised and resourceful and have great attention to detail.

About the role 

We are looking for an experienced and conscientious Finance Officer to join the core team in delivering Exeter Community Initiatives's (ECI) day-to-day financial procedures.

ECI is a dynamic charity working in Exeter and across Devon to ensure that people are supported at an early stage to reduce the risk of crisis, promote empowerment and allow people to thrive in happy, strong and diverse families and communities. 

Responsibilities 

• Process sales and purchase invoices, obtain correct authorisation 

• Post transactions onto Xero using relevant department and fund 

• Set up supplier and salary payments through online banking 

• Raising customer invoices 

• Bank reconciliation, resolving any queries 

• Reconcile petty cash 

• Record, monitor and reconcile shop takings and other income 

• Assist with payroll data

• Process staff expenses via Xero 

• Banking 

• Monitor expected income and follow up on any overdue payments 

• General office support (answering the phone/helping visitors) 

• Any other duties as required 

Candidate Requirements 

Essential 

• AAT level 2 qualification or at least 2 years’ equivalent experience 

• Familiarity with Xero Accounts software 

• Confident using Excel spreadsheets

• Accuracy and attention to detail 

• Clear understanding of confidentiality and data privacy standards 

• Good standard of maths and English 

• Helpful and friendly attitude 

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) 

• Able to identify problems and resolve discrepancies 

Desirable 

• Experience working in the charity sector 

• Familiarity with using AI and digital automation 

• Experience using a CRM database 

Location, Commitments and Terms & Conditions 

• Permanent, part time role (15 hours per week) 

• Hybrid working locations (home/office blend) 

• 26 days holiday plus bank holidays with 1 extra day for each full year of service, up to 31 days

• A Pension Scheme is available with a 5% contribution from the employer, provided it is matched by a minimum contribution of 3% from the employee

About the role

We are currently looking for an impassioned and self-driven individual to join our activities team to deliver exceptional service to our students, through engaging with the 350+ student groups, which deliver an incredible range of world-class opportunities to their members.

You will coordinate the creation of new student groups and manage funding opportunities as well as lead on the onboarding for new committee members and oversee administration for the minibus fleet. You will review, advise on, and approve society event/trip budgets and finance, in collaboration with the Activities (Events) Team. You will also support clubs and societies to effectively manage their finances, and  review Society sponsorship contracts to make sure they are in-line with College and Union policies, that directly benefit and enhance the student experience.

A significant part of the role will be to deliver our annual budgeting process in line with Imperial College Union's grant allocation and financial policy, as well as supporting student-led groups to plan budgets effectively.

The role sits within the Directorate of Membership Services and the post will have a cross-departmental focus to ensure our training package, volunteer support and all processes are equitable and effective for all student groups.

What you would be doing

The Activities Coordinator (Operations) is a critical role in delivering the Students’ Union’s strategic objective of fun and inclusive communities through support, development and empowerment of student-led groups. The role is responsible for supporting the:

• Delivery of training relating to financial processes
• Processing financial documentation that enables diverse activity for student groups
• Coordination of finances associated with club and society activity, annual and event budgeting in conjunction with colleagues in the finance team.

Alongside the Activities Manager, elected Officer Trustees, and the wider Activities Team, the role will support the delivering of a high-quality support service for student-led groups.

The successful candidate will use their skills and knowledge to empower student leaders and bring experience in supporting financial administration. The role demands strong organisational ability, a methodical approach to managing information, and refined interpersonal skills. Ideally, you will have worked with financial systems, delivered excellent customer care, and supported student or youth leadership. You should be able to work independently while effectively balancing competing priorities.
