Job description

Provide behind-the-scenes support to our mental health service

We’re looking for someone with administration skills to help us support people who are struggling with their mental health

You’ll provide administrative support to our mental health team. This means you'll be helping people to get support for their mental health and any issues that are affecting it (such as housing problems, worries around money or feelings of social isolation). You'll do this by:

  • Contacting people who are on our waiting list for support
  • Filling out referral forms so that people can get support (this may involve phoning them to acquire or confirm information)
  • Completing grant applications for people we're working with (again, this may involve phoning them)
  • Other administrative tasks.

There may also be the opportunity to join our frontline team to see their work first-hand, if this is something you would like to do.

Although your volunteering hours will depend on the amount of time you are able to give, we are ideally looking for someone who can commit to eight hours or two half-days per week.

This role is a chance to help make a real difference to people’s lives. If you care about using your skills to help others overcome problems they are facing and regain independence, we want to hear from you.

What we need from you

  • A passion for helping others to improve their mental health
  • Good communication skills and confidence to speak with people who are on are waiting lists
  • A non-judgemental and enthusiastic nature
  • Good administrative and computer skills
  • The ability to commit to four or more hours a week
  • Two references will be required and an enhanced DBS check will be carried out

Where

Flexible between working from home and being based at our Canterbury office
