- Provide regular reports to the committee on the financial status of the group including final accounts at the Annual General Meeting
- Deal with financial administration for the group, from annual reports to legacy spending, and ensuring volunteer expenses are paid accurately in line with our volunteer expenses policy
- Be a signatory on the group's bank accounts

- Confident with numbers and able to take the lead on the group’s finances

VOLUNTEER ROLE BRANCH SECRETARY
RSPCA Darlington & District Branch are looking for a Volunteer to become the Branch Secretary to run the Branch alongside our committee of Trustees.

Overview of the Branch Secretary opportunity
If you have all of the above then you could become our principal communications trustee in the role of Branch Secretary, and help us to maintain our branch affairs and support us in improving animal welfare in our area and the work of our local Inspectors as they focus on animals who suffer from abuse, cruelty and neglect. Through your excellent administration and communication skills, you would need to be able to have oversight of our finances, fundraising events and face book page. You would also need to coordinate our work in providing education to small groups in the community when requested, oversee the distribution of food to local animal food banks, support the employment of our staff in the cat hub .
Primary responsibilities of the Branch Secretary

- You will also act as the primary contact point for all branch communications with the National Society, the branch committee and the branch membership
- You will arrange branch meetings ensure accurate minutes are taken and distributed in accordance with branch rules
- You will ensure all branch committee decisions are implemented and actions completed
- You will work with the membership secretary to arrange the branch AGM including the compilation and distribution of the annual report, nominations and agenda in line with strict timetable laid down in the branch rules.
- You will ensure the timely dissemination of the contents of all correspondence and literature received by the branch, ensuring availability to all committee members and reply to all branch correspondence when necessary.
- Be responsible for the ordering and distribution of RSPCA stationery, leaflets, posters and other fundraising and promotional material when required.
- You will liaise with the Branch Partnership Manager (BPM) and group Chief Inspector and notify them of all Branch meetings.
- Be aware of the outcome of Regional Board meetings and support regional activities.
- Actively promote and advertise the Society in an ongoing programme to recruit new branch Trustees and Volunteers and welcome new members as and when needed.
- In conjunction with your fellow trustees, ensure proper management and control of all activities and decisions relating to any premises held or staff employed by the branch.
- Manage Branch, Trustees and Volunteer activities.
- You will advise the BPM of all changes to Branch facilities, services and contact details
- In the absence of a Membership Secretary resume responsibility of the Branch Membership list
- Submit recommendations for National Society Awards to the BPM, in accordance with the wishes of the committee
- You will need to complete an RSPCA application form and we will require 2 references
As a minimum, all trustees would normally be expected to attend four - six weekly committee meetings which last about 2 hours, however the commitment may vary depending upon need.
As a Branch Secretary you would also be required to become a Branch Trustee and a Member of the RSPCA National Society.

Practical considerations

- Trustees must sign a Trustee Declaration of Willingness to Act to clarify that they are not disqualified from being a trustee and read the Charity Commission’s guidelines for individuals on who cannot be a trustee or senior manager of a charity.

We’re recruiting a Treasurer to provide strategic leadership over our continued financial growth to support our ambitious new strategy to be launched in 2025.
We’re seeking a Treasurer to join our board of trustees and work with our CEO to ensure the financial stability and growth of Camcycle. You will be a committed and enthusiastic supporter of cycling in and around Cambridge and a member of Camcycle. This does not mean you need to cycle very far, very often or indeed at all, but rather that you understand the benefits large-scale everyday cycling can have for our society and environment. Ideally, you will have a formal accountancy qualification and/or practical experience with charity finances. You will also understand the dynamics of a small high-performance organisation, and be able to work with a variety of stakeholders including staff, other trustees, volunteers, members, donors and other partners. Our Treasurer will not be expected to get involved in day-to-day financial operations.

Who we are and what we do
Camcycle (Cambridge Cycling Campaign) is a high-profile and influential local charity working for more, better and safer cycling, for all ages and abilities, in and around the Cambridge region, where half the population cycles at least once a week. We are democratic and member-led, with over 1,700 members and many volunteers.
Our funding is derived from membership subscriptions, donations, grants from grant-making bodies, corporate partnerships, advertising and merchandise sales. We have five permanent members of staff, periodic interns and freelancers and many active volunteers including our board of trustees. In 2025/2026 we expect to complete our transition to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
Our Finance Subcommittee of trustees and staff oversees the financial processes and operations of the organisation. Our CEO and Finance Assistant run our day-to-day finances and we have plans to add a Finance Director or similar role to the team in the near future.
Camcycle’s work includes:
- Responding to planning applications and public consultations.
- Organising events including our Cambridge Festival of Cycling, the Reach Ride with 1,000 participants, stalls at community events, workplace information sessions and campaigning meetings.
- Publication of print and digital cycling advocacy materials including leaflets for students, our quarterly magazine and blogs and social media posts.

We are recruiting for a complementary mix of skills within our trustee board. Whilst a passion for animals is crucial, we are also looking for a diversity of skills such as general business management , finance, marketing, Legal, IT, HR and H&S etc, if this is you, we would love to hear from you.
Your role as a Trustee will require working in collaboration with your fellow trustees, staff and volunteers to ensure our branch continues to deliver our important animal welfare work.
As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a bi-monthly committee meeting lasting around 2 to 3 hours (virtual meetings are an option). However, the commitment may vary depending on your availability, and if you decide to take on additional duties.
Trustee do not need to live within the branch boundaries but occasional travel to Branch sites may be required from time to time.

About the RSPCA Preston & District Branch
Over 80% of the animal welfare work of the RSPCA is carried out through local Branches which are run by staff and volunteers, supported by the RSPCA National Society.
Preston & District Branch has been affiliated with the National RSPCA for 150 years!
A separately registered charity looking after animals in the local area and engaging with the local community.
Our mission is to seek out safe homes for abandoned, neglected or abused animals who are nursed back to health, rehabilitated and found forever loving homes.
Preston & District Branch is part of a network of 140 branches, and 1 of only 8 in the North of England with an animal centre.
The rehoming centre is within the Preston area (close to JCN 31 of the M6).
RSPCA Preston & District Branch is a well established Branch with approximately 20 members of staff and 75 volunteers across 4 locations and raises all its funds locally through supporters and other income streams.
To continue helping animals in need the Branch also operates 3 charity shops in Longridge, Chorley and Penwortham (within our specified branch area) which bring in a regular income to keep our animal centre open.
Primary responsibilities of the Branch Trustee
- Appreciate and support the aims and policies of the RSPCA.
- Work in conjunction with fellow trustees and branch officers and jointly act in making decisions for the best interest of the branch and the RSPCA.
- In conjunction with your fellow trustees, ensure the proper management and control of all activities and decisions relating to any premises held or staff employed by the branch if applicable.
- Work with national RSPCA staff to ensure that the branch meets all minimum animal welfare standards (MAWS).
- In conjunction with your fellow trustees and Branch Partnership Manager write, adopt, monitor, and review a development plan setting out the short and long term aims of your branch.
- Actively participate in branch committee meetings and to attend the branch annual general meeting.
- Be aware of the outcome of regional board meetings and support local initiatives.
- Actively promote and advertise the society in an ongoing programme to recruit new branch trustees and volunteers and welcome new members.
What we are looking for in a volunteer:

In late 2023, the Cathedral adopted a new governance structure under the Cathedrals Measure 2021 and became a registered charity with the Charity Commission in March 2024.The new Chapter must consist of between nine and twelve members and is led by the Dean as Chair. The other members are: four residentiary canons (two executive and two non-executive); the senior non-executive member (SNEM), and five other non-executive members, including the Chair of Finance and two elected at the annual meeting of those on the Cathedral’s electoral roll.

The Role
As a Flyer Distributor you will play a crucial role in helping to raise awareness about our services and events within the Enfield community. You will be responsible for disseminating promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, and event announcements to various locations within the Enfield area.
- Distribute promotional materials provided by Age UK Enfield to designated locations across the Enfield area. This may include community centers, libraries, local businesses, healthcare facilities, and other relevant locations.
- Engage with members of the public in a friendly and courteous manner while distributing flyers. Answer any questions they may have about Age UK Enfield's services and provide basic information about upcoming events or initiatives.
- Keep accurate records of the locations visited and the quantity of promotional materials distributed. Report back to the supervisor on to provide updates on distribution progress.
