Carers Manchester Contact Point (CMCP) is the first point of contact for unpaid carers seeking information, advice and support to help them with their caring role.
The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, currently 10am – 4pm).
The aim of this role is to be part of a team providing a comprehensive information, advice and support service to carers in Manchester
The post holder will work alongside colleagues from Gaddum and potentially other organisations to be the first contact in a busy service providing advice via a telephone advice line and managing referrals made through digital sources. They will provide information and advice immediately where possible and refer more complex issues to the appropriate agencies delivering the Manchester Carers Pathway.

INTRODUCTION TO THE GLOBAL HEALTH WORKFORCE PROGRAMME
We are looking for 3 Administrative Assistants based in 1x Addis Ababa Ethiopia, 1x Hargeisa Somaliland & 1x Lilongwe Malawi
Funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), and managed by the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET), the Global Health Workforce Programme (GHWP) aims to develop the health workforce (HWF) in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria and Somaliland supporting them to build stronger, more resilient health systems for post-pandemic recovery and to make progress towards UHC.
Grants for UK-LMIC and cross-LMIC health partnerships will be awarded to respond to national HWF priorities identified through a scoping assessment carried out by THET with DHSC, FCDO, national Governments and stakeholders (such as local World Health Organisation offices). These grants will run until December 2025.
With a strong focus on building local ownership and sustainability, these partnerships will contribute to the following programmatic outcomes:
1. Partnerships contributing towards improved health workforce leadership capacity aligned with health workforce strategies, that will support reduction in gender inequalities.
2. Partnerships aligning with and contributing towards retention and wellbeing strategies.
3. Improved number and quality of training opportunities for health workers.
4. Co-developed and documented learning on health workforce interventions shared with key national and international stakeholders.
THET will award 28-36 strategic grants of £100,000 – £350,000 that feed into the country scoping priorities and outputs outlined above. The grants will broadly be split across the six countries; however, the exact split is dependent on the number and quality of applications received and broader priorities.
20-28 smaller grants of up to £50,000 will also be available for projects that tackle specific areas such as innovation, rural health facilities, diaspora engagement, leadership opportunities for women and protected groups, and the climate crisis.
Grants will be available to UK-LMIC health partnerships and LMIC-LMIC health partnerships. There are no institutional eligibility criteria as long as ODA rules are followed, so grants can be awarded to healthcare providers, royal colleges, universities, professional associations, NGOs, alliances, diaspora networks etc, but not to Ministry of Health departments.

This role is all about developing a welcoming and supportive support group community for kinship carers wherever they live. Building belonging, resilience and empowerment for support group leaders and kinship carers.
Funded by the Department for Education, our national Peer Support Service is creating a sustainable and life-changing legacy for kinship carers across England.
This is a game-changing service for kinship carers and builds on Kinship’s 10 years’ experience of developing peer support groups, and two years delivering a national service which has set up 145 new groups.
As a Peer Support Officer, you’ll make sure we deliver an exceptional and consistent peer support service for kinship carers.
You’ll set-up and develop new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as supporting existing groups to thrive, developing a resilient and powerful peer support community.
Purpose of the role
Taking responsibility for the North West of England, you will reach out and work directly in local communities to develop sustainable kinship peer support groups.
You’ll need to think strategically – mapping areas and utilising resources to be effective and efficient in managing your time and building local connections.
Using community engagement techniques like coffee mornings, community events and linking with our training and support service, you’ll build local connections and relationships.
As you develop a group and recruit support group leaders, you’ll provide standardised training and help the group to navigate forming and storming – providing reassurance and support to empower the group.
Once the group is stable, you’ll transition the support group leader/s over to the ‘Hub’ team to build confidence and knowledge to run their group independently. You’ll also support online groups and special interest groups to transition to independence.
You’ll ensure targets are met and that kinship carers receive a good experience.
Key responsibilities include:

In person (face-to-face) strategic outreach into local and regional communities including setting up and attending local engagement events.

Set up and develop at least six new sustainable in person peer support groups annually, attending up to six sessions in person (if needed) before transition to self-sufficiency.

Recruit and retain support group leaders to develop their peer support groups.

Deliver standardised training to support group leaders (group roles and responsibilities, safeguarding, setting up, running and promoting a group).
Essential requirements include:

Proven experience in reaching and establishing strong relationships with hidden or underserved communities in person.

Significant experience developing peer support communities.

Proven experience of recruiting, managing, training and supporting volunteers in community settings with an emphasis on understanding and working with vulnerable volunteers.

About the role:
The role of Triage and Early Interventions Officer (TEIO) is a fast paced one which requires the post holder to answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls to victims of crime and those accessing the service in Cumbria.
As a TEIO, you will;
- answer incoming calls, speaking to those affected by crime & manage a caseload
- make outgoing calls, assess needs and risks and action plan with callers
- work on the case management system to allocate cases, provide administration on cases and assess/ensure data quality
- liaise with other agencies where required to find out more information, give information or make referrals or give signposting information
- work with the wider team to ensure an effective, trauma informed service is given to those affected by crime
You will be a confident, compassionate and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations.
You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

The Role (30hrs per week)

Job Purpose & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the post holder will manage the Support Team at Mummy’s Star. More specifically you will be responsible for:
Support Team Management (50%)
- Provide quality support, leadership, development and line management
- Oversee the delivery of individual, tailored support for families
· Regular review and assessment of caseload including co-ordinating weekly caseload meetings and management of new grant application flow to Trustees.
· Work with the support team to regularly monitor, evaluate and report on the support provided by Mummy’s Star.
· Act as Lead Professional in complex cases if required.
· Working with the CEO and Operations Manager to ensure the wider team has appropriate resources and support around wellbeing
· Complying with the charity’s administration, monitoring and financial systems
· Working in close partnership with health care professionals, charities, and other key stakeholders
· Work with the Operations Manager to develop new engagement tools for families to improve accessibility.
· Assist the team to co-ordinate the Ask the Expert events and other resources
· Contribute to, and support the development of, the charity locally, regionally, and nationally
Information and Support Casework Delivery (50%)
· Receiving referrals and assessing needs of families from contact via self referral (post, email, online and social media) and third party referrals (health care professionals, families and charities)
· Providing families with the appropriate support based on their needs, this will include 121 emotional support, signposting to financial/practical support and peer support via our online forum.
· Ensuring support to mums and families is reviewed at regular intervals.
· Maintain and monitor the online peer support forum.
Other Duties and information about the role
· The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as required to support the charity and beneficiaries.
· Some evening and weekend work may be required but time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given for this.
· A DBS check will be required for this role.

Our Youth Project Leaders are individuals who are passionate about working with young people, supporting them to reach and be confident in their potential. You may be an experienced youth worker, or have experience facilitating sessions or working with young people and leading volunteers.

Your Job Description
As a Youth Project Leader, you will:
• Deliver ReachOut sessions at the same partner school on the same day and time weekly during term time.
• Prepare your ReachOut sessions, following ReachOut’s curriculum and adapting the activities to the needs and interests of your assigned group.
• Facilitate engaging ReachOut sessions for the young people attending by ensuring that the voice of young people is listened to and impacts the way the sessions are planned and facilitated.
• Manage and support a group of volunteer mentors; supporting them to build strong rapport with their mentees and helping them to understand how to best adapt their mentoring approach to the young people they are working with.
• Support theyoung people in your session to reach and be confident in their potential by facilitating the creation of good mentee/mentor relationships and by running activities to build the ReachOut Character Strengths.
• Complete monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure the sessions are as impactful as possible and set up strategies with the help of your line manager to help each young person in your group reach their mentoring goal.
• Keep in touch with the parents/carers of the young people in your group about attendance, successes and challenges.
• Manage your project’s weekly admin by planning your sessions, maintaining your attendance and providing detailed project updates to your line manager.
• Attend ReachOut events and socials with their mentors. • Follow ReachOut’s policies/procedures to safeguard young people.
• Act and communicate in a professional manner, in line with ReachOut character strengths and culture.
• Attend all compulsory training.

About the role:
This role is based at either our Preston or Accrington Office. After six months probation you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.
As a Triage & early Intervention worker you will be:
- Making initial contact assessing and providing information to victims/survivors of domestic abuse
- Providing any immediate safety and support needs for the victims/and their children(s) including safeguarding when required.
- Providing administrative support to our wider team to support them in the delivery of advocacy to victims/survivors of mainly domestic abuse.
- Liaising with the police and other agencies to ensure all relevant information is collected including safe contact numbers and consent from victims/survivors.
- Gathering feedback from service users and collating this into monthly reports and contributing to monitoring information for the service.
- Participating in regular supervisions and reviews.
You will need to:
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the myths, facts and misconceptions about domestic abuse.
- Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Understand the needs of victims/survivors of domestic abuse.
- Understand the effects of trauma and the importance of trauma informed practice.
- Have a good understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
- Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
- Demonstrate the ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and monitoring your performance.

Role overview:
This is a hybrid role on a self-employed basis. Travel is required to complete assessment visits to the care units applying to the scheme, please refer to the Flexibility and Expectation section in regard to frequency of travel.
As a Lead Assessor, you'll play a pivotal role in upholding the integrity of our AP scheme. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct comprehensive assessment visits to units undergoing evaluation within the scheme. Working hand in hand with service user perspective assessors, you'll monitor all Headway AP core domains during onsite visits.
Key responsibilities:
- Review relevant documentation ahead of onsite visits.
- Collaborate with service user perspective assessors during visits, focusing on core domain monitoring.
- Facilitate post-visit debriefing meetings with assessors to ensure thorough discussion and alignment.
- Maintain open communication channels with the AP Manager to address any assessment-related queries or challenges.
- Prepare detailed assessment reports in collaboration with assessors, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Deliver finalised reports to the AP Manager and communicate outcomes to units undergoing assessment.
Flexibility and expectations:
This role offers flexibility, with the expectation of completing a minimum of 4 assessments within a year. This allows you to balance your professional commitments while making a meaningful impact within our AP scheme.
Hourly rate and expenses:
The hourly rate for this role is £20.00. This rate includes time spent on administrative tasks before and after visits, the duration of the visit itself, and travel time. Additionally, travel expenses will be reimbursed.
To provide an example, the estimated time commitment for conducting an accreditation is as follows:
Preparation: 2 hours
Visit: 7 hours
Debrief meeting: 1 hour
Report writing: 8 hours (Please note assessment will need to be completed within 6 weeks from the date of the visit.)
Travel: We aim to allocate Lead Assessors to units close to their location to minimise travel time, the hourly rate will be reflecting the time travel invoiced . Mileage is reimbursed at £0.40 per mile.
Candidate profile:
- Hold a professional qualification (e.g., OT, SaLT, Nursing, Physio) with demonstrated experience in ABI.
- Exhibit unwavering objectivity and impartiality during assessments.
- Uphold strict confidentiality standards in handling sensitive information.
- Possess a solid understanding of key legislation and frameworks pertinent to ABI care provision.
- Able to review and analyse evidence thoroughly.

We are looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to join our team and lead the implementation of 'Your Voice Matters.' Collaborating closely with our Director of Support Services and fellow Betknowmore colleagues, you will oversee the delivery of workshops, facilitate focus groups, and participate in community engagement events. Supported by our partnership with The Faiths Forum for London, you will play a pivotal role in fostering relationships within the Black community to maximize the project's impact over the next two years.
This position is primarily home-based, with regular travel across Greater London as required. The role is full-time, offering a competitive salary between £33,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include a pension scheme and generous work/life balance. This is a fixed-term appointment for a period of two years, subject to satisfactory role performance.
