Age UK Wandsworth is a local, independent charity that works to promote the wellbeing of all older people in the London Borough of Wandsworth. We offer a variety of services with the goal of helping older people to #AgeWellinWandsworth. Our charity is consistently growing, so we are creating this new role to support our CEO with social media, marketing and organising events. The role will suit someone who is calm, mature, professional, organised and creative and will be comfortable working directly with a creative and curious CEO committed to transforming the charity’s online presence.

The role

 We are seeking an experienced Manager of Philanthropic Giving with a strong track record in securing major gifts. The ideal candidate will excel at building trusted, long-term relationships with donors and feel confident leading conversations that result in significant philanthropic support. This role will also contribute to the development and delivery of a trusts and foundations strategy, helping to grow and strengthen our portfolio.

Working closely with the CEO, senior leadership and trustees, you will develop compelling funding propositions, steward donors and funders through excellent reporting and engagement, and represent myaware at meetings, events and networking opportunities. You will also maintain accurate records through our CRM system, track performance against targets, and contribute to income planning and reporting. This is a strategic and hands-on role with real impact for people affected by myasthenia.

The Manager of Philanthropic Giving will be predominantly home based within the UK (with occasional working and meetings at Derby HQ) and will work in co-operation with the fundraising team and all myaware colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising targets and campaigns. Own transport is essential for this role as occasional travel throughout the UK will be required to attend donor meetings, events and networking opportunities, as well as the ability to travel to the Derby office. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced and motivated fundraising professional with a strong track record in major donor fundraising along with experience in Trusts and Foundations fundraising. You will have experience in personal communication in asking for high level funds, and experience of stewarding high net worth individuals to maintain high levels of engagement over a significant period. You will have experience of Trusts and Foundations fundraising including pipeline management and stewardship, writing compelling funding applications and impact reports.

You will be a strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal, research and organisational skills, confident managing a complex pipeline and working collaboratively across teams. You will be comfortable working independently, using CRM systems, and engaging senior stakeholders, including trustees and high-level donors. Most importantly, you will share myaware’s values, demonstrate empathy with our cause, and be committed to making a meaningful difference through philanthropy.

Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including our specialist benefits and welfare advisor. 

Myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals. 

The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

The Supporter Operations team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is a key point of contact in the charity for supporters and members of the public and ensures the highest standards in operational processes and compliance, to ensure a first-class supporter experience.

The Supporter Relations Officer is responsible for delivering essential supporter engagement activities, ensuring delivery of an excellent experience for every contact, recognise opportunities to increase supporter loyalty, and generate the maximum amount of income for dementia research. Key Responsibilities:

Supporter Enquiry Management

· Act as the first escalation point for Executives with complex enquiries, helping to troubleshoot the enquiry in a suitable timely manner and ensuring the delivery of a warm and positive response for the supporter.

· Support the team Executives with inbound enquiries by telephone, email, post and social media, ensuring the highest standard of responses and covering absences on occasion.

· Promote fundraising, engagement and retention opportunities when talking to supporters using a range of initiatives to explain how their donations positively contribute towards the cause.

· Ensure all campaign briefings are delivered to the team to equip them for enquiry handling.

· Delivery of the promotion of and supporting supporters in the best practice in ‘in aid of’ fundraising policies.  

Supporter Stewardship

· Delivery of outbound thanking and stewardship programmes.

· Assist the Senior Officer in ensuring effective management regions at specified levels, to ensure appropriate stewardship.

· Working alongside the Executives on the delivery of the Tiering and Triage system and supporting the Senior Officer in making decisions on supporters requiring manual intervention to tier. And input into reviews of the tiering system to ensure it is fit for purpose and is offering the supporter the best stewardship journey. 

· Support the Senior Officer in managing the supporter follow‑up process to ensure funds are received promptly and accurately. 

· Responsible for ensuring the quality of our Thanking processes and content are to the highest standards.

· Collaborate with key stakeholders and teams – Relationship Fundraising, Mass Participation and Sporting Events, In Memory and Individual Giving, ensuring that supporters are given the best level of stewardship. 

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Experience of working in a customer facing role within an office environment.

· Experience of handling complaints and queries.

· Enthusiasm for building excellent supporter relationships and ensuring supporters feel valued and thanked appropriately.

· Confidence working with computers – good knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM databases.

The Development Manager will be a dynamic and experienced fundraiser with strong technical skills in grant and funding solicitation, management and stewardship across Crisis Action’s current donor targets including major foundations, governments, and High Net Wealth Individuals (HNWI). They will serve as the anchor of a newly configured fundraising team designed to support Crisis Action to nurture its existing donors and secure the next generation of support for its ground-breaking work.

This role is pivotal in ensuring excellence in our outreach, proposals, reporting and communication to drive resource mobilisation that is essential for the organisation’s financial sustainability at a time when our distinct model and way of working is needed more than ever.

Principal responsibilities

Donor engagement and communications 

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day engagement with current and prospective foundation, government and individual donors by members of the Crisis Action team
• Represent the organisation vis-à-vis donor representatives 
• Support HNWI donor benefits structure and cultivation plans
• Prepare compelling and timely donor reports, donor updates, letters of receipt and other outreach materials in collaboration with finance and campaign teams.

Grant management and oversight 

• Ensuring timely and skilled drafting, consultation and sign off of high-quality grant proposals 
• Timely acknowledgement of all contributions and compliance with donor requirements
• Preparation of high-quality proposal budgets and financial reports for donors in compliance with grant specifications and deadlines, in close cooperation with the Finance Team
• Review all grant agreements and monitor/ensure the organization's adherence to its contractual commitments. 

Strategic vision and guidance: 

• Provide strategic support to the Chief Executive Officer on short- and long-term fundraising strategies and broader resource mobilisation initiatives to ensure our fundraising strategy and its implementation helps achieve organisational goals
• Set fundraising targets and produce periodic funding forecasts in consultation with members of the team.

Research and intelligence: 

• Carry out donor research and provide strategic insights and donor related updates and background information to relevant colleagues.
• Monitor and ensure a solid pipeline of donor prospects

Team coordination and collaboration 

• Ensure that there is a clear workplan that anticipates what has to happen when to guide team resource allocation and workload management
• Ensure effective and efficient processes of gathering and sharing information across the team to support timely donor engagement and stewardship with clear protocols on the cadence of team calls and written updates 
• Support colleagues to adhere to agreed fundraising roles and responsibilities 

Communications 

• Ensuring effective and timely communications to donors, Crisis Action’s board and team 
• In collaboration with the CEO, ensure timely and regular flow of information to the team on fundraising progress
• Timely production of high-quality fundraising updates for our Board 

Data and Systems Management 

• Sustain, manage and where possible further develop the relevant administrative infrastructure, including grant tracking and reporting systems, Salesforce contact database, events calendars, contact lists, donor profiles, website and annual report donor acknowledgement lists and meeting minutes 

Job Specifications 

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fundraising, donor relations, or development within the non-profit or international advocacy sector
• A proven track record of engaging with foundations and government officials to secure and manage grants
• Demonstrated ability to forge new donor partnerships, and a track record of bringing in new revenue
• Strong understanding of government and foundation funding landscapes with at least some familiarity with differences between them and the stewardship of major gifts from individual giving 
• Experience in drafting compelling fundraising proposals, reports and donor updates for a variety of donors – foundations, governments and individuals 
• Strong all-round communication and storytelling skills
• Experience producing a range of communications materials for different audiences
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organisational goals into actionable fundraising plans
• Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and grant management tools

Salary & Benefits 

Salary: We have set bands for the salary range for all positions at Crisis Action. The baseline of our salary range for this position is £40K per annum. 

Benefits: 25 annual leave days (30 days after 3 years). Up to 6% contribution to pension. 3-month long service leave after 6 years and one-month sabbatical leave in year 10. CA additionally offers an annual inflationary increase, and 2% salary increase in year 2, 4 and 8 subject to availability of funds.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities Management:

• Oversee management of Variety House in Camden including building maintenance, safety procedures, office operations and infrastructure
• Liaise with tenants and external contractors to ensure facilities are well-maintained
• Monitor and manage office budgets related to supplies, utilities, and maintenance
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations including managing risk assessments and fire safety
• Lead sustainability initiatives within the office (e.g. recycling, energy-saving practices)
• Ensuring health and safety compliance for staff including being the designated fire marshal (training to be provided)
• Ensure competitive quotes for office services and building maintenance, making recommendations based on quality, reliability, and value
• Negotiate contracts to optimise costs without compromising standards, identifying areas for cost savings and facilities improvements

 Office Management:

• Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for staff, tenants and visitors
• Manage office vendors including maintenance, cleaning, and security
• Manage office supplies inventory, supporting staff to ensure when items run low that orders are placed

• Support onboarding and offboarding processes from a facilities perspective, managing keys and security

Governance:

• Assistance the CEO during busy periods with diary management and in-office meetings

• Manage access control systems and office security
• Create and maintain facilities manuals, process documentation, and onboarding guides

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Essential:

• Experience with the charity or Not-for-profit sector
• Proven experience as Facilities and Office Manager, or similar role.

We are seeking an experienced and diligent HR Manager to work with staff and volunteers at our established Christian recovery charity in Berkshire. You will provide direction, support and oversight on all aspects of human resources management, including: HR administration; recruitment; staff supervisions and appraisals; compliance with employment regulations; training; performance and talent management; grievance, disciplinary, and capability procedures; salary structure and employee benefits; and organisational personnel planning.

We do not currently have HR software, so reviewing our requirements in this area would be one of your responsibilities.

​As a small charity (c. 43 salaried staff and casual workers, plus volunteers), the role will require balancing practical tasks with management responsibilities. Orbis UK is delighted to offer the role of HR and Governance Manager, a new position for the charity, as the organisation seeks to grow and build on past successes to reach its target of achieving £10m income in the next 5 years.

This role is critical to supporting a highly performing group of staff and trustees as we seek to transform lives through the prevention and treatment of blindness. This role will sit within the Business Support Team, which is responsible for the day to day running of the organisation and will be crucial in creating a revised HR strategy and ensuring that the organisation’s compliance with key statutory and regulatory requirements are maintained at all times. The successful postholder will work collaboratively with the Director of Finance and Operations to meet these objectives, but also will have a central role in identifying opportunities for growth within the HR and Governance function to ensure that good practice, wellbeing and compliance work hand in hand with one another and is embedded within the ethos of the organisation for the benefit of its staff and, ultimately, our beneficiaries.  

In addition, the successful postholder will work with the Board of Trustees to provide Executive Assistant level support to enable the Board to meet its obligations and to ensure that they can conduct the business of the charity in the most efficient and effective manner. You will be privy to sensitive and confidential information, attending meetings in order to take summary minutes and provide clerking services, including the issuing of papers, monitoring Companies House and Charity Commission requirements and acting as counsel to the Senior Management Team and the Board, where appropriate.

You will line manage and work with the Business Support Administrator, also a new post, that will provide support to you and the wider staff team. The recruitment of both these posts simultaneously provides a unique opportunity to a new postholder to shape this role and set out the strategy for this directorate and take ownership of demonstrable change within the organisation.

We are looking for someone who has a Level 5 CIPD or equivalent qualification with demonstrable experience in supporting and developing a HR strategy and/or working at an EA level working with senior executives across different sectors. Knowledge of the NGO sector is desirable, but we are open to applications from across disciplines and expertise if you can demonstrate your aptitude for the role with a hunger to learn or for someone who is keen to translate their HR experience into this broad and interesting role.

Duties and key responsibilities

Fundraising Support

• Provide administration and operational support across the fundraising team.
• Respond promptly and professionally to fundraising enquiries via post, email, and phone, offering support, guidance and thanking donors and fundraisers.

• Send fundraising materials (including t-shirts, information packs, etc.) to supporters.

The postholder serves as a key advisor to the CEO, board, and leadership structures, ensuring governance systems are robust, efficient, and appropriate for an international membership organisation. The role works closely with member organisations (MOs), regions, and speciality groups to enhance governance practices, ensure policy alignment, and support coherent decision-making across the global network.

The role also contributes to organisational direction by actively participating in the development and implementation of the World Physiotherapy strategic plan and supporting alignment with regional and other strategic plans.

1. Governance leadership and oversight

• Lead, coordinate, and oversee all governance functions and activities across World Physiotherapy.
