We are looking for a Fundraising Officer to lead the administration of CCT’s tiered membership programmes, annual and church-based appeals, legacies, and fundraising events. The Fundraising Officer will also support in the creation of marketing materials to support these initiatives.

Job objectives

Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. To fulfil this mission, the Circuit fosters a broad spectrum of ministry within its congregations, focusing on worship but also engaging in outreach to the homeless, asylum seekers, new parents, and various other groups. Everyday millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us, we will all need social care at some point.
We all have a right to hold public bodies to account. But most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 77% drop in community care legal aid cases since 2010 means we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.

Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.
With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers and barristers ensure fair access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. About the role
This is an exciting time to join our organisation. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. We have nearly tripled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue for the duration of our next strategic period. Access Social Care are an organisation of thirty-six people, and this is a new role in the People team coming at a period of growth to drive a thriving charity and help shape its future.
This is a fast-paced role whose emphasis is on policy / process / systems improvement as well as advising colleagues and managers across the organisation regarding all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will work with people at all levels of the organisation supporting the People Director on strategy work streams as the organisation continues to grow and evolve.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all day-to-day HR processes within the employee lifecycle to ensure staff are supported appropriately and legislative responsibilities are fulfilled
- Work alongside the People Director to map or review processes across the employee lifecycle, identify blockers and seek to implement solutions that create efficiency and clarity

About the team
Shelter North East has been based in Newcastle for over 25 years and we provide advice across 12 local authorities We have an advice team, a legal team, support services which are made up of a Housing First project, along with a DIYSA service and hub administrators. We also have a number of national staff who support our work, such as a Community Fundraiser, Community Organiser and an Involvement Officer. Our services are provided either from our hub base or through outreach locations, to give communities easier access to support and advice.
About the role
As an Engagement Worker, you will be pivotal in delivering Shelter’s purpose to defend the right to a safe home by enabling those we assist to enforce their housing rights. You will be a key member of our local team, delivering intensive support to a small number of individuals with multiple disadvantage to move from homelessness to sustaining a tenancy. Your role will be fundamental in supporting someone on their journey through Housing First. Mainly based in the West End of Newcastle, you will support up to 7 clients at any one time, applying the homeless link principles of housing first.
Also, you will be part of a wider team that promotes and supports housing rights awareness and activism within communities in order to achieve the North East Hub’s local priorities. These include ensuring people at risk of homelessness experience a positive, consistent approach and a legally correct response from local authorities and have easy access to safe, secure, and suitable housing.We are also committed to seeing that people experiencing multiple disadvantages have access to tailored services and appropriate accommodation so they can lead a fulfilled life. About you
This is a great opportunity to work with local communities and partners to fight the root causes of bad housing and homelessness. To succeed you will need experience of support work, a proven ability to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, especially substance misuse services, health and probation. You will have an awareness of working in a trauma informed, strengths based approach to help people with multiple disadvantage, as well as having experience of writing and implementing person centred support plans and writing detailed case-notes. Also, you have flexible time management skills, and are comfortable collaborating with people from other teams and organisations.

The role
We have experienced an exponential growth in income from public fundraising leading to an increased awareness of fuel poverty. To build on this success and maintain increased unrestricted income from a wider fundraising mix, we are recruiting a new Fundraising Assistant to offer vital support for all fundraising activities. This new role will join a small, proactive team who raise funds from a variety of sources including trust and foundations, corporate partnerships, major donors, events and community fundraisers and individual giving.
As Fundraising Assistant, you will provide admin and fundraising support across the Fundraising and Partnerships Team and excellent customer service to supporters, partners, fundraisers, and internal stakeholders in pursuit of the overall strategy of the Fundraising and Partnerships Team.
What you will need to succeed
You will have demonstrable experience of working in fundraising, business development, customer service or a similar background.
You will also assist with the implementation of the NEA donor journey and stewardship activities, organisation of fundraising events as required – as well as supporting with donor communication and retention.
With such an array of opportunities you will need to have a high attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and be exceptionally organised.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Retention
- Administer the recruitment process by placing job adverts into the template on Canva, removing expired job adverts from the THET website; downloading applications; setting up interviews
- Update staff induction materials
- Update the Organisational Organogram on a monthly basis

Development & Performance

Policies and procedures

Administration

Supporter Services & Database Officer
