The Opportunity
As our founder and current CEO steps down, we are seeking a visionary and values-driven Chief Executive to lead Mesothelioma UK into its next chapter. This is a pivotal moment for the charity, offering the chance to build on our strong foundations and drive forward our ambitious strategy to improve outcomes for all those affected by mesothelioma.
About the Role
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive will:
- Inspire and lead a high-performing team, including our unique NHS-based nursing network.
- Develop and deliver organisational strategy and operational plans.
- Ensure robust financial management and income generation.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders including the NHS, donors, partners, and research teams.
- Act as an ambassador for the charity, raising our national and international profile.
- Uphold our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
About You
We are looking for an exceptional leader who brings:
- Proven experience at CEO, Director, or equivalent senior level in a non-profit or health sector environment.
- A track record in leadership, strategic planning, financial management, governance and fundraising.
- Strong people management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Passion for our mission and values, with high ethical standards and integrity.
- The ability to inspire, motivate, and unite staff, volunteers, and partners.

Puropse of Alcohol Recovery Engagement
At our homeless hostel, our Alcohol Recovery and Engagement team deliver high quality, psychologically informed housing and hostel services to vulnerable, single homeless individuals, a number of whom have complex needs. These needs may include mental health issues, brain injury, neurodiversity, substance misuse and/or offending behaviour.
Working alongside the wider team at YMCA Wirral, the Alcohol Engagement Worker will recruit clients at the earliest possible stage, to deliver structured interventions that reduce harm to themselves and support them to access pathways to substance misuse treatment and wider health interventions.
The Alcohol Recovery & Engagement Worker will help individuals begin and sustain their recovery by conducting assessments, creating personalised plans, connecting clients to community resources, and fostering a positive recovery environment. Team members will also support individuals into both abstinence-based and medically assisted forms of recovery to reduce alcohol related harm.

- Supporting people through the highs and lows, offering practical help, understanding and encouragement.
- Delivering harm reduction strategies and techniques within the CDE.
- Inspiring change and making a lasting difference in people’s lives.

Worcester College is recruiting for the key, senior role of Engagement Manager to be part of its Development and Alumni Relations team of seven. This is a vital role as we seek to deepen and expand connections with the College’s donor and alumni community. The Engagement Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of an engagement strategy which aims to build relationships with alumni and donors to lead to greater involvement with the College through the giving of funds, time and expertise, to give donors a strong sense of the positive impact of their generosity, and to bring potential major donors closer to the areas of College life that require financial support.
At Worcester we have worked extremely hard to foster deeper engagement with alumni and feedback from our community has been very positive. We are seeking a team member who can bring rigour and focus in order to build on this strong foundation, bringing a proven track record in strategic thinking, effective relationship building, strong attention to quality and detail and project management skills. The role is varied and would suit someone who understands the value to the fundraising programme of creating meaningful connections, with the drive and creativity to deliver an innovative and successful engagement programme. The role gives the opportunity to build on relationship fundraising knowledge and experience through working personally with a portfolio of donors to develop relationships and grow their philanthropic giving to the College.
The Development and Alumni Relations team works in spacious offices in the heart of Worcester College overlooking some of the most beautiful gardens in Oxford. As a team we enjoy a strong sense of purpose and shared success.
