About the team
We have been successfully running the first ever national Peer Support Service for kinship carers in England for over two years since January 2022. We have created 145 peer support groups and supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.
With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:
- creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;
- sustaining and developing the current 145 existing groups, and;
- providing support and help to build a sustainable and welcoming community for all peer support groups across England.
About the role
The type of person we’re looking for:
This is a new a role and a new structure for the team. You will need to be a strong, boundaried manager and leader. You will understand the power of building relationship-focussed peer support groups and the importance of in person local community engagement and outreach.
The team you lead will focus on community outreach and relationship building to develop new groups and new support group leaders through to independence. By independence, we mean that the groups will function successfully without a staff member present.
We want groups to feel a sense of community and belonging through all support and services we offer at Kinship, so your team will be the local contact. They are expected to be out and about in communities.
Your team will need to build resilience through in person outreach, support, training and connection to ensure groups are able to function independently before moving to new ‘hub’ team who will provide centralised support and community building.
Your team will also reach out to existing groups (providing a face of the service and a relationship with it), ensuring they have the resources they need and support to sustain their group and then transition to the ‘hub’ team. This will include in person visits.
Purpose of the role:
The role of Programme Lead is to oversee and take accountability for the development and creation of new sustainable kinship peer support groups across England in priority areas as part of a new hub and spoke delivery model. In this context, your team is the ‘spoke’ of the service, delivering local outreach, online groups (where appropriate) and relationship building with kinship carers.
Managing a national team of seven staff (two direct line reports), you will provide firm leadership, ensuring targets and funder SLAs are met consistently and the service is delivered to a high quality. You will provide monthly reports, ensuring delivery is on track and most importantly that kinship carers have an excellent and positive experience.
Key responsibilities include:

Deliver sustainable peer support groups for kinship carers.

Ensure policies and systems to deliver new groups and move others to sustainability, are followed and updated with user needs at the heart.

As a deputy safeguarding lead at Kinship, you will work closely with other colleagues to identify areas of training for the organisation and identify improvements in delivery or processes.
Essential requirements include:
- Substantial experience in delivering a high-profile national service or programme. This includes overseeing delivery, operational planning, monitoring, budgeting, managing delivery and meeting KPIs.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team. This role will require the successful candidate to support an integrated and holistic approach to education, health and care, work under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher / senior specialist teaching assistant, support access to learning and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in learning opportunities and to assist the teacher in providing relevant support for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex therapeutic, medical and health needs.

Role Requirements
STL1 – Provide support for Learning Activities set by Classteacher & Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant
- To support learning activities for individual, groups or whole classes of pupils, leading activities under the direction of the teacher or Senior Teaching Assistant supporting the teacher in their delivery of lessons.
- To demonstrate our School Ethos and Pupil Charter throughout the School day.
- Holistically integrate education, health and care needs.
- Evaluate and record procedures for learning activities.
- To know individual learning targets for each pupil in the group(s) and take specific action to enable individual pupil goals be achieved.
- To attend to the general care, maintenance and storage of classroom equipment.
STL 2 – Support Children’s Development
- Observe pupils, sharing observational findings, contribute to the implementation of activities to support development.
- Actively contribute towards record-keeping particularly in respect of pupil learning, therapeutic interventions, behaviour management, child protection and any other specific programme set up for individual pupils by the teacher / Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant / Therapist.
STL 3 – Help to keep Children Safe
- Undertake annual safeguarding training.
- Adhere to the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and policies. Recording incidents pertaining to pupil safety, including for illness, accidents and incidents, accepting that Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that ‘it could happen here’.
- Read relevant documentation / mandatory reads in relation to Keeping Children Safe In Education.
- Report any signs and indicators of possible abuse, being sensitive to the child/young person and circumstances, Identifying, report and record changes in behaviour and physical signs.
- Be aware of and follow plans, risk assessments and record keeping pertaining to individual pupils, including care plans, health care plans, feeding plans, moving and handling and behaviour management plans, actively engaging in relevant training and competencies offered to ensure that you are able to support in keeping all pupils in the class safe.

STL 40 – Support Pupils with Cognition and Learning Needs
- Implement agreed strategies to support pupils with cognition and learning difficulties to learn.
- Sequence and structure learning environment and experiences ensuring adequate time.
- Consistently apply visual, auditory, object and tactile cues.
- Provide an appropriate level of assistance to enable the pupil to experience a sense of achievement, maintain self-esteem and self-confidence and encourage self-help skills.

STL 42 – Support Pupils with Sensory and/or Physical Needs
- Obtain accurate and up-to-date information about: a the nature and level of the pupil’s sensory and/or physical needs and apply to the pupil’s learning needs, planned learning tasks and activities.
- With support adapt the layout of the learning environment and the equipment used to enable the pupil with sensory and/or physical needs to access and maximise learning opportunities.
- Encourage the pupil to actively participate in learning tasks and activities consistent with his/her developmental level, physical abilities and any medical conditions.
- Ensure that any specialist equipment is used appropriately to maintain the pupil’s comfort and maximise his/her participation in learning tasks and activities.
- Give appropriate assistance to enable the pupil to experience a sense of achievement and encourage independence.

STL 43 – Assist in the Administration of Medication
- Apply standard precautions for infection control and other relevant health and safety measures.
- Report any discrepancies or omissions you might find to the person in control of the administration and to relevant staff as appropriate.
- Be aware of School procedures.
- Contribute to administering and record keeping of medication to individuals in the appropriate manner, using the correct techniques according to the care plan if signed off as competent in doing so.
- Ensure the security of medications throughout the process and ensure all medication is stored in the correct safe place when administration is complete.
STL 4 – Meet their Personal Support Needs
- Attend to pupils’ personal care needs as and when necessary ensuring care and dignity at all times.
- Assist with the organisation of refreshments and mealtimes, feeding individual pupils where necessary including feeding by gastric tube after receiving the necessary training.
- Support pupils in the water and assist with swimming and or hydrotherapy programmes.
PDR – Take part in School Staff Development Procedures
- Take part in a performance management programme and work towards specific pupil progress and professional development targets.
- Take part in a staff induction programme, and pursue other training opportunities as agreed with the line manager.
- Take part in staff development days, class team meetings, departmental meetings, whole staff meetings and other occasional meetings held in usual working hours.

Main Responsibilities:
Duty Officer:
– Opening and closing of the Sovereign Centre, depending on shift, and ensure the safety of the area in adherence with YMCA procedures.
– To ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed, i.e. fire evacuation, safety of facility users, assisting with any accidents that occur and giving first aid if needed.
– To follow YMCA safeguarding policy to ensure that vulnerable adults and young people are properly protected.
– Setting up/down rooms for hire including equipment, checking for damage and ensure it is safe to use.
– Overseeing rooms and facilities, general tidying and ensure all areas are safe including storage and outside spaces.
– Assisting with reception duties including taking payments for activities, answering visitor enquiries and promoting YMCA services.
– Answering the telephone and deal with enquiries or forwarding on to appropriate Team.
– Complete food safety and hygiene checks, maintaining records as required.
– Fire warden duties
– Dealing with any incidents whilst on duty and recording on My Concern.
– Supporting Teams who run services in the centre
– Act as concierge as necessary.
Building Administration:
– Identifying any maintenance needs and logging requests via Pyramid, progressing outstanding works and overseeing any works being undertaken when on site.
– Maintain supplies of the centre’s cleaning and household products by running efficient stock control and cost-effective purchasing of supplies.
– Re-stocking and purchasing of first aid supplies, keeping all kits full and in date.
– Supporting Hirers with enquiries, invoices, hold agreements and dealing with bookings.
– Maintain the Sovereign Centre calendar for all bookings.
– Complete building inductions, maintain key presses and up to to date key holder list.
– Ensuring DO pack, PEEP forms and building risk assessments are reviewed and kept up to date.
– Create, fill and distribution of monthly DO rota for the centre.
– Keeping Sovereign building paperwork and on-line folders safe, secure and up to date.
– To support and promote all services which run from centre as required.
– Attend and participate in relevant internal/external meetings and forums related to the CYP services activities.
– Supporting the wider work of the Association including charity events.
– Any other duties required within the grade and renumeration of the role.

Job Purpose:We are looking for a competent and reliable person to undertake a range of duties to ensure the safe and smooth running of the YMCA Sovereign Centre. You will be the Duty Officer; responsible building security and building related admin tasks. You will also cover reception and deal with general enquiries. A commitment to friendly, customer-focus service is essential.
Hours of work:Av 26 hours per week. Monday to Friday 4:30pm - 9:00pm and 2 Saturday per month (Except August) 8:00am - 5:00pm (with 1 hour break)

As our Director of Service Transformation, you will lead the exciting next phase of transforming our charity’s services to reach more disabled children, young people and their families. You will be responsible for sourcing and delivering contracts and partnerships essential for the charity’s sustainability by advancing our digital outreach and nurturing new partnerships and securing sustainable funds for innovative models of support.
What you will be doing as the Director of Service Transformation:
- Lead and execute services strategies and plans that extend and transform the impact and financial sustainability of the charity’s services and support for disabled children, young people and their families.
- Lead the design, development and sales of innovative new service models and the scaling of existing services.
- Work closely with the other executive directors and leadership team to achieve the generation of an annual financial surplus to reinvest in Kids.
- Ensure the quality and safe delivery of all Kids’ services.
- Ensure effective budget management underpins service development and delivery. Ensure contracts and tenders are commercially negotiated and regularly monitored. Work with colleagues to identify and achieve necessary margins on contracts and projects for financial sustainability.
- Inspire and lead a high performing services team; support colleagues to test, learn and adapt as the charity evolves and transforms its digital and in-person support offer.
- Be an inspiring, visible and collegiate leader and team player who works across team boundaries to help drive organisational change and nurture colleagues’ ability to perform at their best.
- Model and lead effective communications with all colleagues that bring to life the charity’s values and behaviours. Support colleagues to ensure Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles and practice are evidenced in service design and delivery.
- Act as an ambassador for Kids on key platforms, carrying out media work as required; promote the charity’s products, services and work; and draw from services expertise to influence public policy and legislation relevant to disabled children and their families.

The way people are accessing support is evolving and we need to ensure that we are developing support services that reflect the complex needs of a brain tumour diagnosis using a range of platforms, from a traditional phone line service to innovative, engaging and instant solutions.
Supporting a wide range of people, from those who are looking for general information about treatment or care, to those who need more detailed support from the point of diagnosis, you will be passionate about improving the lives of those affected by a brain tumour. You will be comfortable providing emotional and practical support and information across different channels; capable at breaking down complex, scientific information in an accessible and personalised way and committed to developing pioneering resources to support our community in smarter ways.

Key accountabilities:
· Provide specialist emotional and practical support and information to people affected by brain tumours, their friends, families and carers through a variety of solutions including phone, email, webchat, online, social media plus new evolving channels
· Provide high quality information which reflects the most up to date research, clinical information and treatments, in a way people can understand. Conducting the research yourself and adapting your communication to suit the person you are supporting is key
· Offer coaching guidance to empower individuals, helping them to achieve the appropriate next steps
· Work in conjunction with the Volunteer Development Manager to recruit, train and manage volunteers who assist in delivering support services
· Lead on aspects of cross team projects and develop new resources that meet our community’s needs, while collaborating with other teams and external partners
· Identify gaps in knowledge across the Support Team and identify possible training areas
· Develop information for our website and other resources, for example, writing initial drafts and reviewing information
· Plan and facilitate online and in person events for the brain tumour community, including online meet ups for young adults
· Day to day management of our online peer support
platforms, for example our Facebook groups for Young Adults affected by a brain tumour diagnosis
· Update and maintain accurate contact information on the CRM database, producing data reports as required to evidence the impact and reach of our support services

Job Purpose
Money Minded is a new service designed to support adults (18 years and over) in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with the West London NHS Mental Health Teams, operating within the tri-borough area.
The service provides support with welfare benefits, accessing debt support, housing and well-being. The role of the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be to provide advice, guidance and customer representation to tri-borough residents living with Mental Health difficulties. Advice issues may include housing, welfare benefits, council tax, accessing debt support, signposting etc.
The successful candidate will deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals, as agreed with the Service Manager. In addition to advice casework, the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will also be expected to assist onboarding referrals to the service, as and when needed.
The successful candidate will work closely with the West London NHS Mental Health teams and project volunteers, ensuring adherence to the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS) and Mind's policies and procedures.
Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed, prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.

Place of Work
The Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be required to work within the West London NHS Mental Health team offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the service manager

Main responsibilities

DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose:To undertake a wide variety of tasks including delivering high quality support and personal development opportunities to young people in our supported accommodation. To flexibly respond to individual needs and assist individuals to have the maximum opportunities to direct the support in order to live as independent as possible.
Providing structured support in response to identified needs as documented in each young person’s developmental support plan and in a way that equips them with the confidence and skills towards living independently and sustainable.
Hours of work: 30 paid hrs per week (3 hrs unpaid lunch break)
Friday:5pm – 4am, Saturday: 5pm – 4am, Sunday:5pm –4am

Annual leave: Five weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of five weeks pro-rata after six years’ service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.
