The Young Carers Coordinator will assist in leading on the day to day operational management of Carers Salford Service and lead on Shine (The National Lottery Community Funded Young Carers Targeted Support project), which works across Salford and Manchester.
The role will have line management responsibility for the young carers link workers and young carers outreach and development workers within the Carers Salford Service and Shine.
This role will support the Carers Salford Programme Manager in maintaining the continuous development of the carers support service to ensure Gaddum is providing the best support services for carers, as well as working with the Head of Development & Innovation to explore new projects and funding opportunities for young carers services.

As a Cat Care Assistant, you will work to meet Cats Protections’ aims and values by providing first class care for the cats in our centres. Carers' Hub is an independent local charity based in Brixton and works with carers aged five upwards. Whether financial, educational or otherwise, we seek to limit the challenges that carers face. This role sits within the Young Carers Service and the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking assessment visits with young carers and their families in order to identify their needs and develop a support plan. You will work directly with young carers aged 5 and up to achieve positive outcomes, identifying and preventing inappropriate caring responsibilities through whole-family assessments and reviews and ensuring that young carers and their families have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs. Adult Services Team Leader: What you will do:
This is a new role. The new Government Drug Strategy has identified Brighton as one of the key areas confirmed for priority investment in drug and alcohol treatment and with this increased funding and ongoing partnership working we have a need to grow the support for our adult services team. You will be supporting the Adult Services Manager in delivering an effective and safe service to our clients and will:-
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding processes and procedures and support others to use these systems in their own practice
- Hold a caseload and support clients to overcome barriers to accessing support through effective problem solving, partnership work and sign-posting to relevant services
- Provide support to substance misuse workers in the adult services team, to include effective supervision, annual appraisal and support for their training and development
- Oversight of all services and programmes to ensure smooth running, including coordination of incoming referrals, ensuring timeliness and quality of reports to social workers
- Deliver training and development activities including providing support and reflective practice for colleagues in their own development of their areas of work
You will:
- Hold a Social Work Qualification or Nursing ( RMN,RGN)
- Have significant experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team and participating in multi-agency relationship building and working
- Have an understanding of current issues related to substance misuse and families experiencing problems
- Have substantial experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team including provision of supervision and team meetings
- Be able to demonstrate experience of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults legislation and processes
- Be able to effectively lead the team with ease, providing motivation and inspiration.

We provide free advice and assistance, up to and including Tribunal level, on all Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) benefits, Tax Credits, and some local authority benefits.
Welfare Benefits Advisor will
- Provide high quality Welfare Benefits advice and casework and, as appropriate, representation at the 1st Tier Tribunals for disabled individuals of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
- Write Mandatory Reconsideration requests and in a limited number of cases, write appeal submissions.
- Undertake direct welfare advice and casework.
- Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken using an appropriate electronic Welfare Benefits Recording and Information System via AoD’s Charity Log, and through the use of Excel
- Gather information to monitor and evaluate the service.
- Assist with funding applications / tender bids by providing basic factual information to Fund Raising Manager/CEO/Managers to enable them to apply for funding and also enable them to write funding/tender applications.
- Contribute to Welfare Benefits related publicity material, social media, reports for the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders and other documents as required.
This post requires travel to different locations, e.g. for home visits.

You must have excellent IT skills, be able to manage our wordpress base website and social media platforms. You will be able to learn how to update rota system (Qynix) and to create and review relevant risk assessments, support plans and handle new starter (HR) information following the appropriate Data Protection Laws.
You will be self-motivated and determined to achieve the best outcome for the people we support. You will achieve this through working closely with the Service Manager and the MyLife Team to lead to ensure and maintain the delivery of high-quality support. This includes working to ensure all health and safety requirements are met.
You will ensure that all people accessing our services are supported in accordance with the ethos, policies and practices of HF Mencap and with current best practice as set out in the Care Standards Act 2014 and other relevant legislation and codes of practice.
Note - You will undertake support worker duties where required to ensure appropriate levels of staffing. We are looking for Support Workers at Bridge College in Openshaw. Support Workers play a vital role in ensuring the students are supported in their learning programs, including extended curriculum, external placements and visits.
This is a great opportunity for Teaching Assistants looking to broaden their experience within SEN or Support Workers/Care Assistants who are unable to meet the 24/7 flexibility required within the care sector.
Bridge College is the Together Trust’s specialist education college for students aged 16 to 25 years with disabilities, complex needs and autism. Promoting a multidisciplinary approach to learning the college has expertise in supporting students with a wide range of needs.
Under direction of a session leader you will provide support and guidance to small groups of students providing intervention support with their learning programmes, communication systems and learning environments. You will provide 1-1 support for SEND students.
Proactive in completing assessments of students’ progress and contributing to planning and review of processes you will communicate effectively with parents, carers and others ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Supporting teaching staff to plan lessons and evaluate learning, you will write reports and maintain records using college information and recording systems as required. Working alongside therapists to embed strategies to support engagement in learning you will undertake further training and communication, technology, therapeutic services and personal care intervention to enhance student’s learning opportunities by removing barriers to learning, you will participate in supervision and appraisal processes as well as contribute to college self-assessment reviews throughout the year.
As part of your role will involve driving groups of students and staff when required using college and/or own vehicles candidates with a full clean driving licence are encouraged to apply.
About You
You must have experience of supporting young people with a variety of complex learning needs as well as some experience of working with young adults with SEND in a learning environment. Passionate about advocating for the rights of young people with SEN you will understand the complexities of a variety of disabilities and adapt your approach to support students.
Understanding safeguarding concepts you will have knowledge of the needs of students with learning difficulties and complex needs and how these can be addressed. A thorough understanding of what constitutes support for students with learning difficulties you will be familiar with alternative methods of communication e.g. Makaton, PECs.
Creativity for stimulating and engaging pupils in their learning programmes you will have a real passion for education and improving the attainment of students, you will be willing to support with all aspects of personal care and meet individual medical needs.
A reflective practitioner you will be self-driven to develop personal skills through CPD opportunities as well as have resilience and work dynamically in pressured situations.
Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy is essential for this role and you must have good general education and good written English. Those who have Level 2 or Level 3 in Care and Learning Support are highly desirable however this is not essential.
