As Business Operations Manager, you will manage the delivery of our annual organisational planning and reporting, which is crucial as we continue to set ourselves ambitious targets. You’ll empower and enable colleagues to perform at their best through streamlined business operations, effective ways of working, and clear and consistent systems and practices. We believe you’ll bring your own unique take on where we can continue to enhance our operations.

As Business Operations Manager, you’ll play a critical role in enhancing, embedding and embodying organisational and operational effectiveness.

• Manage the delivery of our annual organisational business planning process, supporting the Head of Operations and partnering with our leadership team, Heads of department and managers to ensure the planning cycle runs smoothly.

• Embed a structured approach to reporting and monitoring.

• Optimise internal knowledge management systems and communication channels to drive clear, effective and consistent internal communication.

• Facilitate access to robust and clean operational data in order to enable data-driven decisions.

• Advise and guide a programme of measuring ourselves against the B Corp Standards. 

• Line manage a small team, providing coaching support to enable growth and development.

About the role

This role is maternity cover and will be offered on a fixed term contract. 

The role will report directly in to the Town Clerk and be responsible for the Events Officer, contractors and volunteers. You will work closely with other officers including Communications, Public Services, Community, Heritage and Support Officer. 

Crewe Town council has a rich and varied events and culture programme planned and set out  for 2026 which needs oversight while the events and culture manager is on maternity leave. This will require a suitably experienced and qualified individual to ensure delivery is consistent, compliant and maintains the usual standard of quality events and experiences delivered by Crewe Town Council.

The CAS Community Food Partnership is intended to support Food Projects (i.e., Foodbanks, Food Pantries, Top Up Shops, & Community Fridges to name a few) with capacity building and diversifying their operations – enabling them to support their communities and users, with overcoming challenges related to food and income insecurity. We are looking for a Legacy and Administration Manager to join our Finance and Operations team on a part-time basis (2 days per week). This role will report to the Director of Finance and Operations. 

Job Purpose

Legacies are one of the most vital sources of income for Operation Smile UK, helping us continue our work supporting patients with cleft around the world. We’re now looking for a Legacy Administration Manager to join our dedicated team and ensure that every gift left to the charity is managed with care, professionalism, and in line with the wishes of our supporters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of residuary, specific, and reversionary legacy cases from initiation to completion, optimising income while upholding all legal, ethical, and organisational standards.
• Communicate with empathy and professionalism with executors, solicitors, and beneficiaries’ families, including handling enquiries and confirming receipt of legacy notifications.
• Review estate documentation and valuations, determine the charity’s entitlement, and verify that all due funds are correctly received.
• Ensure that all relevant charity tax reliefs are properly applied for, including Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax appropriations, and Income Tax (form R185).
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all legacy income and correspondence within OSUK’s CRM system and Finance Tracker.
• Track the status of ongoing cases, pursue outstanding actions, and take prompt steps to address issues or disputes as they arise.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams—such as Finance, Supporter Care, and Partnerships—to promote strong stewardship and compliance.
• Refer or escalate complex or high-impact matters to the Director of Finance and Senior Finance Manager when necessary.
• Contribute to team meetings, process improvements, and the development of best practice.

Person Specification

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate clearly and sensitively, both in writing and verbally.

· Proven experience in legacy administration within the charity sector or in probate and estate law.

· Highly organised, with the capability to prioritise and manage a diverse caseload effectively.

· Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, documentation, and data entry.

· Skilled in interpreting wills, estate accounts, and related legal documents.

· Competent in reviewing estate accounts to verify the correct application of Inheritance Tax (IHT) and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and to ensure estates are properly finalised.

· Proficient user of Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

· Review estate accounts, including the allocation of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Inheritance Tax (IHT), to confirm estates are correctly administered.

· Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (ILM) or legal/paralegal qualification.

About the role

We are seeking a Grants Systems and Business Analyst to join our Foundation, providing subject-area expertise to our grantmaking and wider teams. This exciting role leads on our grants system and processes and ensures we are working in the best way to support our grant-making (approx. £35m of grant spend per year).

You will lead on maintaining, designing and developing grant making systems and processes and their relationship to other parts of the organisation. You will work with colleagues to identify where we could improve our use of existing digital systems or introduce new systems and oversee the introduction of new systems as agreed including the development of a new grant management system. A key element of this role is to help others work in the most efficient and effective way. 

In addition, the role leads on introducing, developing and overseeing the operation of digital systems to support the operation of PHF’s wider business.  The post holder will bring a mix of technical and people skills to lead on continuous improvement, ensuring our systems and workflows fit the needs of the organisation and those we work with, and colleagues are skilled-up to work effectively.  This may involve working on the introduction of new software as required and will include working with our IT support company, software suppliers and colleagues who have specific oversight of some systems.

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced digital systems and data expert who can confidently translate technical language to a non-expert client group in order to improve systems and ways of working. At Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network we’re looking for someone to join us as our Senior Legal Aid Advisor. We will always stand by people standing up to an unjust immigration system. We provide a safe haven for people to rebuild their lives and our Senior Legal Aid Advisor role is a key part of that. Sitting in the immigration team, you will work on our Legal Aid contract alongside a team of Immigration Advisors working on a mix of grant funded projects for migrants unable to afford private representation. You will work within a supportive environment, reporting to our Immigration Manager, and be able to develop your areas of expertise. We’re a small and colaborative team so you will have the opportunity to work closely with other members of the organisation. 

Main Roles
Manage a full caseload of complex immigration matters funded by legal aid, including
asylum, human rights, and deportation cases.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations (IAAS, SRA, LAA).
Complete funding applications, manage provider submissions, track time, prepare
and submit legal aid bills and ensure compliance with LAA obligations.
Provide ad hoc supervision, mentoring or training to members of the immigration
team working on related immigration matters.

Specific Duties
1.Manage a full caseload of complex immigration matters funded by legal aid,
including asylum, human rights, and deportation cases.
a.Manage a complex caseload across the field of immigration, nationality and
asylum law.
b.Prepare, draft and file appeals to the First-tier and Upper Tribunals and conduct
appeals hearings as required.
c.Own legal aid processes for each case: complete funding applications, provider
submissions, billing, time recording and compliance with funder requirements.
d.Provide expert legal advice and represent clients in hearings; instruct counsel
when necessary and manage counsel budgets.
e.Interview and advise clients regarding immigration and asylum law procedure, and
practice in a sensitive and professional manner.
f.To maintain accurate and detailed case records of clients for the purpose of
continuity of casework, information retrieval and statistical monitoring, using
Advice Pro as appropriate and as required by management.
g.Advocate on behalf of clients by telephone, letter and email with appropriate
agencies.

2. Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations (IAAS, SRA, LAA).
a.Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with IAA, IAAS
registration or similar professional body, e.g. SRA
b.Keep up to date at all times with changes in the law by reading and attending
training events relating to asylum and immigration.
c.Adhere to casework procedures as outlined in LRMN’s policies, the IAA, SRA,
IAAS, SQM and AQS.
d.To maintain accurate and detailed case records of clients for the purpose of
continuity of casework, information retrieval and statistical monitoring, using
manual or/and computerised systems (Advicepro) as appropriate and as required
by management.
e.Produce reports to meet funder’s and LRMN requirements.
f.Work closely with the Immigration Manager and/or external evaluator in gathering
data and information to produce accurate monitoring and evaluation reports.
g.To assist LRMN in liaising with its funders and to provide statistical information
and updates as required.

3. Complete funding applications, manage provider submissions, track time, prepare and
submit legal aid bills and ensure compliance with LAA obligations.
a.Complete initial funding applications and any subsequent variations or
exceptional funding requests; gather and upload supporting evidence; ensure
eligibility and means assessments are correctly recorded.
b.Submit and monitor claims through the LAA portal (or other relevant portals),
respond to queries or requests for further information, and liaise with LAA
caseworkers or contract managers as required.
c.Draft detailed bills in the required format, check calculation of fees and
disbursements, obtain necessary approvals, and submit within contractual
deadlines.
d.Maintain documentary proof to satisfy LAA audit requirements (attendance
notes, advice records, evidence of means), respond to audit enquiries, and
implement remedial actions where required.

4. Provide ad hoc supervision, mentoring or training to members of the immigration team
working on related immigration matters.
a.Maintain close liaison with the Immigration Manager to ensure a unified approach
to leading and developing the team.
b.Provide occasional mentoring or supervision to individuals working on legal aid
cases.
c.Provide occasional training to individuals working on legal aid cases.

5. Other Duties
a.To participate in LRMN staff meetings, maintaining a high level of professionalism
and contributing skills and knowledge towards best practice for the organisation.
b.To attend supervision and appraisal meetings and other relevant activities.
c.To be able to perform your own administrative duties.
d.Work flexibly as agreed to meet the demands of the service – this may involve
occasional evening, weekend and outreach work.
e.Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the work of the organisation.
f.Comply with LRMN’s policies and procedures.
g.Adhere to LRMN’s vision and mission and positively promote its work.
h.Undertake any other work as may be reasonably requested.

Job Title: Birmingham Project Officer

Salary: £28,000

Position Type: Full time / Fixed term (12 months)

Based at: Remote, with travel to schools in Birmingham

Working Hours: 5 days a week, 9am-5pm (flexible)

Pension: School Food Matters pays pension contributions at 7% of pensionable earnings

Holiday: 31 days including bank holidays that fall on working days. Holidays must be taken during the school holidays

This role requires occasional work outside of core hours (for example, if visiting a school breakfast club). It also requires travel to schools across Birmingham, so access to a car would be desirable. Training for delivery of the programme will be provided online and in person, and you will be expected to travel outside of Birmingham for some of these training sessions.

At School Food Matters we believe that school food can unlock a happier, healthier, more sustainable future for every child. We want a school food system that delivers for all children, so they can enjoy nutritious, delicious and sustainable school food and leave school with an informed and positive relationship with food. To achieve this, we campaign for a better school food system, bringing the voices of children, parents, and teachers to government policy, and deliver fully funded food education programmes in schools across the country.

Background to Nourish

Our Nourish programme supports schools to create a food environment that puts children and young people's nutrition first. The evidence-based, multi-component programme helps schools to develop action plans and policies to cover the food served across the whole school day. Nourish uses a collaborative whole school approach to food involving everyone across the school community to create lasting positive change.

Job purpose

· To deliver Nourish in 6-8 schools in Birmingham (primary, secondary and SEND settings)

Key tasks include

· Support with recruitment of schools to take part in Nourish

· Complete in person food audits in schools looking across the whole school day

· Support schools to create and deliver a food improvement plan (action plan)

· Develop and deliver workshops in schools to staff, parents and students based on their action plan (e.g. assemblies, cooking sessions, school food standards training, packed lunch advice, food ed/sensory tasting sessions)

· Support schools to write a school food policy

· Build relationships and work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, chefs, kitchen teams and senior leaders in schools to improve the food on offer to students

· Collect data and maintain accurate records relating to the project

· Work closely with our Evaluation team to complete all monitoring and evaluation

· Work in collaboration with other Birmingham school food partners

· Share learnings with other SFM regional Project Officers

· Gather content for our Comms team (website and social media platforms)

· Keep Scaling Manager fully updated on progress
