Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) is the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it.

This is a critical time for SEA. We are looking for someone who has a real passion about our mission and with proven ability in communicating sensitively with children, young people and their families.  You will have excellent organisational skills and be proficient in the use of IT.  You will need to be available for occasional evening and weekend work.

You will have experience working with vulnerable children and young people and will have a strong grasp of the realities of being a young carer in an inner city London borough.

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women's led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by VAWG.

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

PRIMARY TASK

The post is instrumental in overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive package of services and care for women in our refuges. To provide a safe environment and a service that is appropriate to the needs of young BME women particularly those from South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern communities and to support ex-clients following resettlement.

The post holder will have a caseload of clients and be responsible for providing advice, advocacy, casework and support to women and girls, advocating on behalf of these women and making others aware of their particular needs. The post-holder is required to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of the culture and needs of  minoritised communities in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.

At an exciting and key stage in our journey we have the opportunity for Youth and Community Directors to join our team supporting Oasis’ youth and community work in neighbourhoods in the following regions;

With accountability to the Oasis CEO for Youth and Community the role of the regional Youth and Community Director will have three main functions:

About the role

This role will continue to develop and deliver Allergy UK’s youth engagement initiative for our existing Youth Engagement Group for young adults living with allergies aged 18-25.

The role of Youth Engagement Officer will be to engage with young people across the UK, to ensure that they have the opportunities and support to shape and influence Allergy UK’s programmes and activities for young people living with allergy.

The successful individual will work to develop youth engagement opportunities which increase skills, confidence, and life chances through supporting young people living with this disease to overcome any barriers they face.

 As a Youth Engagement Officer, you will have experience of working positively with young people and have a proactive nature. Organisation skills and initiative is a must as you will be the lead on our youth provision.You will be required to coordinate activities with young people such as online and in-person engagement, blogs, podcasts, learning and digital activities. In addition to this, you will need to effectively lead the young people to help them shape services for young people in the allergic community to better improve the standard of care that exists in the public, private and commercial sectors.

These activities will be centred on practice of co-production. We are looking for someone who wants to work as part of a team to engage young people, to highlight unheard voices and stories and promote progress and change through action.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan, project manage and deliver exciting new co-production projects and establish positive links with young people and promote active participation in activities.
• Provide opportunities for young people to have a voice and support them in getting involved in Allergy UK’s awareness and public affairs to influence governmental change and improve services for young people with allergy.
• Create, develop and lead on the work of the Allergy UK Youth Forum.
• Support and develop young people to become champions and ambassadors for Allergy UK.
• Work collaboratively with a range of organisations including but not exclusively schools, local government, health and youth services and youth organisations.
• Develop training and development resources for young people 
• Complete all required documentation accurately and within agreed timescales to ensure that contract requirements are met 
• Work alongside the Operations Director and other staff advising them of relevant issues facing children and young people.
• Develop Allergy UK’s youth engagement procedures and practice.
• Develop opportunities to engage young people in volunteering for Allergy UK
• Responsible for the health and safety of yourself and others who you interact with and undertake appropriate health and safety reviews, risk assessments in relation to activities.

You might also have:

• Lived experience of allergy, either personally or through close connection with someone who does.
• Experience using digital platforms (e.g. for blogs, podcasts, or social media campaigns) to elevate young people's voices.
• Confidence facilitating youth groups, workshops, or forums both online and in person.
• Awareness of the challenges young people face in healthcare and/or navigating chronic conditions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a thoughtful approach to creating safe spaces for youth engagement.
• Understanding of or experience working in a charity or non-profit environment.
• An interest in influencing policy or advocating for social change through youth involvement.

The Diocese of Rochester is committed to equipping its churches and leaders for growth and transformation. As part of this, we are seeking a Missional Development Parishes (MDP) Project Manager to join our Programme Team based at the Diocesan Office in Rochester.

The MDP Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of 15 strategically funded parish projects supported by the National Church. Working with the Head of Programmes, Diocesan colleagues, and parish representatives, the Project Manager will oversee planning, budgeting, governance, and reporting processes across the MDP project. This role will be vital in supporting parish leaders and PCCs to lead and deliver their local MDP initiatives effectively.

The successful applicant will be an experienced and highly organised project manager, with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. You’ll need to demonstrate the ability to manage risk, track project outcomes, and support change across a variety of contexts. A background in monitoring and evaluation is important, and a desire to serve the mission of the Church will be key to thriving in this role. Experience of working with Church of England structures is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

· Build strong working relationships with the 15 MDPs, acting as a governance and communications link with the Diocesan MDP Project Board

· Oversee and report on progress, risks, outcomes, and finances across all MDP projects

· Track progress against milestones and budgets, escalating risks and managing changes as needed

· Support the sharing of learning and success stories in collaboration with the Communications Officer and Mission and Ministry Development team

· Manage the MDP budget, including drawing down and allocating funds and reporting to stakeholders

· Act as secretary to the MDP Project Board and report to senior diocesan bodies including the Bishops Leadership Team and Diocesan Synod
