In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Strategy, vision and impact [25%]

• Be at the forefront of leading Resurgo’s ‘big picture’ vision of a transformed society, empowering churches to transform young lives
• Build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with local referral agencies to ensure effective recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme
• Oversee the reporting of the Centre outcomes and ensure the Spear Programme is delivered in line with agreed targets

Leadership, line management and training [25%]

• Lead your team with confidence; spurring them on in Resurgo’s mission; invest in a team culture of excellence, belonging and fun
• Manage and develop the Lead Coach and Graduate Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development. This includes weekly 1:1s, performance reviews and regular feedback
• Equip your team to drive change through a data informed approach, and keep them accountable to agreed targets for the Spear Programme

Relationship management [20%]

• Manage great relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, donors, and your Board of Trustees
• Embed into your local church; working closely with your Spear Trustees and congregation, and actively participating in their mission and events
• Partner with the Spear Trustees and assist in implementing their funding strategy by helping to build corporate and donor relationships. For example, by hosting prospective donors in the Training Room

Delivery of the Spear Programme [20%]

• Support group and 1-1 coaching with numerous 16-24-year-olds: equipping them with practical work-ready skills and resilient mindsets
• Provide guidance to the Lead Coach in the training room when dealing with behavioural and safeguarding situations and upskill coaches with consistent coaching feedback
• Use a coaching approach to engage young people in challenging conversations that will enable them to take responsibility and over significant barriers to employment

As a Rent Officer you will manage a caseload of properties and will be responsible for monitoring rent accounts; ensuring that appropriate action is taken to maximize rental income. This is an exciting opportunity to join the TCV Sussex team to expand and develop our Health Walks offer as part of our new Green Gateways social prescribing project.
The successful candidate is likely to have previous experience of managing volunteers, delivering training and have knowledge of social prescribing or public health. For more information please see TCV website. 
East Sussex Health Walks is a long running county-wide scheme of weekly one hour walks led by trained community volunteers. Last year we had nearly 20,000 walking engagements and we want to build on this. This post is for a Health Walk Coordinator to coordinate and develop the programme to help even more people to improve their health and wellbeing with regular, manageable exercise.

You will be coordinating the existing programme of Health Walks (approximately 25 per week) and managing the large group of Volunteer Health Walk Leaders (currently about 100). You will be responsible for recruiting and training new volunteers and developing new Health Walks to meet the funder's targets, including liaising with local partners, mapping, risk assessing and planning.

There will be ongoing marketing and publicity needs, as well as regular internal comms with volunteers to make sure they feel supported and valued and to reinforce and role model TCV best practise for safe, inclusive and supportive activities.
You will also be responsible for general project running tasks such as purchasing, scheme admin, report writing, attending events, liaising with funders & partners, meeting targets and deadlines.
Experience required/desirable:

- Managing, supporting & recruiting volunteers
- Delivering training
- Health & wellbeing projects / public health / social prescribing

The post is currently funded until October 2025. It is full-time (35 hours per week) and based in the TCV office in Hastings but covers the whole county. BACKGROUND: 
For many families there are issues that precede a young person’s gang involvement. Personal circumstances typically involve poverty, unsuitable housing, separation, family conflict, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health and imprisonment.

Gang involvement increases the risk of violence and victimisation to the young person, their friends and their family, therefore, it essential when supporting young people to exit gangs we adopt a ‘whole family’ approach.

A ‘whole family’ approach involves working with the family to assess risk, ensuring all family members feel safe, mentoring young people who are involved in or at risk of gang and serious youth violence and offering holistic support to enable the family to achieve their potential and raise aspirations.

Without the right support, families can become trapped in a cycle of homelessness, crime, unemployment and poverty that is passed on from generation to generation.

St Giles Trust solution to this stark reality is our Children & Families Service. The C&F team offer an intensive and holistic approach that seeks to understand the complex and inter-related family issues behind poverty in order to resolve them. Children & Families Caseworkers break the cycle, unlocking chaotic families’ potential, and empowering them to raise themselves out of poverty.

Key Deliverables:

• To develop and maintain relationships with other agencies, ensuring a steady flow of referrals to the project; in particular schools, PRU’s, Youth Offending Services and Children’s Social Care. 
• To support families using a  1:1 tailored and holistic practical & emotional support to improve mental health & wellbeing, housing, finances, living environment and increase their readiness to engage in training and employment 
• To complete initial needs assessments with families and support them to develop individual action plans and regularly review to assess progress 
• To promote inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process and to include involved agencies in the delivery of the services
• To carry out and review thorough risk management plans with families ensuring each family member has an age-appropriate safety plan
• Provide a client led support service that responds to individual’s needs. Key elements will include supporting with housing, finances, schooling, parenting, health and wellbeing, ETE and criminal justice
• To support families who are affected by domestic violence, this will include working with victims and perpetrators
• To deliver the service in a timely and targeted manner, working through identified issues on the action plan, promoting case closure as an achievable outcome
• To close cases effectively and positively, identifying a survival plan for the client that can be used for ongoing support and agencies that can be used if serious problems develop in the future
• To support the Team Leader  with other tasks as and when required
• To carry out any other similar duties as required, including providing support to other St Giles Trust projects on occasion.
