About the role

The Communications Officer has a key role to play in planning and delivering communications to key stakeholders including carers, members, supporters, volunteers, partner organisations, and staff. The post holder will write, edit, co-ordinate and publish content across various channels, including the website, social media, digital, print and through integrated communications and marketing campaigns.

The Communications Officer will deliver consistent messaging, including across all nations, appropriate for audience and channel, that helps build awareness of, and connection to, Carers UK.

The aim of the L&D team is to support all Fund colleagues to develop, learn and grow.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for a curious, compassionate and committed individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join a Stroke Recovery Service in the Stockport area. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with stroke survivors and their families, supporting them in rebuilding their lives after stroke.

Position: S11314 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Stockport, However, regular travel will be required as part of this role

Salary: Circa £18,800 per annum (FTE circa £27,400 per annum)

Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week

The Role

The service operates in a fast-paced, person-centred environment, where Coordinators identify and respond to the evolving needs of stroke survivors and their carers. This includes delivering structured reviews at six months post-stroke, supporting stroke survivors in their ongoing recovery and helping them achieve their personal goals.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Work as part of a team to plan and deliver engaging peer support and communication groups
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings with the local stroke therapy team, contributing to joined-up care
• Recruit, train and manage volunteers to enhance service delivery (experience in volunteer management is an advantage)
• Support stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community, offering personalised advice and guidance
• Provide resources for stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of further strokes
• Deliver Stroke Reviews at six months post-stroke

You will have experience in:

• Excellent IT skills and an ability to maintain accurate records
• An affinity with the values of the Stroke Association
• A flexible approach and an ability to effectively manage a caseload

About KLS’ Future Foundations education team 

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family (if they have one) needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school. 

Key Objectives for this Role

Working with the Lead Youth Worker you will: 

Homework Clubs

•Collect up to date consent information for all young people joining Future Foundations

•Support with creating session plans for club nights

•Research and source necessary resources activities 

•Support to plan and run engaging and fun activities/ongoing projects for the young people

•Use participatory methods to involve young people about Clubs 

•Ensure children’s participation and encourage ownership of and responsibility for the Clubs

•Implement our behaviour management policy

•Liaise with families/carers to communicate information regarding Clubs and Mentoring

•Support with maintaining robust recording and monitoring systems (including registers) and ensure quotes, case studies and feedback are saved and stored

•Maintain, collect, edit and store documentation of activities, including photos, case studies and videos, for Newsletters, funding reports and other records

Safer Futures
The Safer Futures programme supports people as they rebuild their lives following some of the most challenging experiences in life. This includes people navigating the criminal justice system, survivors of domestic abuse, and people seeking refuge and safety in the UK through migration. The foundation fund work that provides direct support, we also back work that challenges and improves the systems surrounding them, systems that too often fail to provide stability, dignity or security.

This Grants Manager role is focused on refugees and people seeking asylum and navigating migration, as part of the Safer Futures programme.

For refugees and people seeking asylum, the journey to safety and stability is often met with enormous barriers. Even after gaining refugee status, many have just days to secure housing, income, and support. Without it, they risk homelessness, exploitation and exclusion.

We fund organisations that help people move from arrival to independence—through safe housing, legal advice, language support, education and pathways into work. We also invest in systemic change, supporting work that seeks to make the immigration and resettlement system fairer and more effective.

The Role
As a Grants Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering funding that makes a lasting difference. You will assess applications, play a key part in decision-making, and build strong relationships with organisations across the refugee and migration sector. You will carry out policy research, deepen your sector knowledge, and visit funded organisations to learn directly from their work. You will also help us refine and improve our approach to grant making, ensuring our funding is as impactful as possible.

The Candidate
We are looking for someone who has experience in impactful grant making and who deeply understands the UK migration policy landscape and the challenges facing refugees and people seeking asylum. You will be an excellent writer and communicator, able to make a persuasive case for funding decisions. You will have a collaborative approach to grant making and value the role of networks and partnerships in achieving change. You will think systemically, recognising how funding can help shift systems, and you will be confident analysing the financial health of organisations to inform effective grant making. The successful candidate will be solution focused and committed to using their expertise in the migration field to contribute to the impact of the foundation.

The Roles

Children and Young People Case Worker (Children in Care)
You will coordinate and support a caseload of young people in care, matching them with trained volunteer mentors, supervising the relationship, or delivering direct 1:1 support where required. You will work to build self-esteem, resilience, and aspirations, engaging with partner agencies and ensuring positive outcomes. This includes monitoring progress, supporting volunteers, attending professional meetings, and organising group activities.

Children and Young People Case Worker
You will work directly with young people on a 1:1 basis or in group activities, tailoring interventions to meet individual needs. You will also support parents/carers where this benefits the young person, coordinate with other agencies, and empower young people to achieve their goals. Safeguarding, risk management, and accurate case recording will be central to your work.

About You

For both Case Worker roles, you will have:

The Consultant will also work closely with A4ID’s regional office in Kenya. You will also be driving fundraising in the region.
