The role

Reporting to the Professional Conduct Manager, you will be crucial to the operation of the BAcC's disciplinary and professional health procedures. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Case Management & Panels: Assisting in the effective operation and management of Professional Conduct Panels (Investigating Panel, PCCP, Health Committee).
• Legal Liaison: Instructing and liaising with BAcC counsel and solicitors on complex disciplinary and fitness-to-practice matters.
• Policy & Codes: Drafting, researching, and updating the BAcC’s Professional Codes and Guidance Notes, ensuring they align with new legislation and best practices.
• Advising: Providing expert advice and support to the Professional Conduct Manager, Governing Board, and panels on regulatory matters and risk management.
• Public Protection: Handling and managing a varied caseload of complaints and concerns from patients and the public relating to issues such as boundary breaches, safe practice, and clinical competence.

About you (essential requirements)

We are looking for a candidate who is driven, analytical, and highly organised. You must be able to work autonomously and bring significant expertise in the following:

• Post-graduate Legal Qualification OR Extensive professional experience within a UK professional regulation environment (e.g., fitness to practice, professional conduct, ethics).
• Proven experience in advising or working directly with Panels/Committees in disciplinary or statutory proceedings.
• Strong understanding of legal principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to write clearly in plain English for guidance documents and reports.

The Role

The role is ideal for someone with strong ER and policy writing experience and good knowledge and understanding of UK employment legislation, key HR legislation and HR systems to appropriately advise and lead on ER cases. Ideally you would need to be CIPD part qualified or studying towards a qualification.

We are looking for an organised, resilient and dependable individual who has proven ability to work within a small team, as well as under their own initiative, and who can communicate effectively across the organisation both in written and oral form. 

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to listen, discuss, negotiate and provide advice on difficult, complex or sensitive issues is essential.

What will I be doing?

• First point of contact on IOP’s ER issues and responses, replying to queries in a timely manner
• Taking the lead on IOP HR policies, assessing and updating them on an ongoing basis in line with employment law changes
• Soley managing employee relations’ activities, ensuring that outcomes are proportionate, reasonable, timely and in line with legislation and the Institute’s policies
• Guiding, advising and assisting management and senior management through employee relations processes
• Providing people management advice and support to line managers, to enable them to fully undertake their people management role and ensure they are fully aware of the risks / implications associated with their decisions

Who will I work with?

• Internally, the role works across all departments as well as IOP Publishing HR and Finance
• Externally, the role works with employment lawyers, occupational health providers and EDI professionals

Ideally, your skills include:

• A sound knowledge of employment legislation and its application
• Strong sense of professional boundaries and the importance of confidentiality
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to listen, discuss, negotiate and provide advice on difficult, complex or sensitive issues

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

Our Triage Team act as the front door into our service working within a multi-disciplinary team to provide triage and early intervention support to individuals of all ages and risk levels affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, including those with harmful behaviours.

This varied and rewarding role involves providing trauma responsive support to our service users as well as advice and support to partner agencies through our dedicated duty line. Our duty line operates Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm and allows for service users and professionals to get a quick response from our service.

Key Responsibilities

Working with Vulnerable People and Risk Management

• Provide a trauma-responsive service to individuals of all ages and risk levels who have been affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking including those with harmful behaviors.
• Demonstrate specialist knowledge of domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking and behaviour change including the associated risks to victims, perpetrators, and the wider family unit.
• Offer advice, guidance, and emotional and practical support to individuals of all ages and risk levels affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking.
• Support those who harm abuse by providing information, guidance, and risk assessments using specialist tools.
• Assess, manage, review risks to service users, using tools such as the DASH risk assessment, SOAG and RIC. Providing risk reduction and safety planning advice.
• Respond to emergencies and crisis situations, including suicidal ideation and the need to access a place of safety.
• Make safeguarding referrals to appropriate agencies including Children’s Social Care, Adult Social Care, mental health crisis teams, and MARAC.
• Work sensitively with service users to share and explain MARAC outcomes and other safeguarding decisions.
• Manage and support service users via telephone of all risk levels in line with service values.
• Safeguard the health and welfare of service users and their families at all times.

Team and Multi-Agency Working

• To be the advisory point of contact for colleagues across all areas of our support offer.
• Offer professional advice and support to multi-agency partners and stakeholders.
• Work closely with statutory and voluntary agencies to enhance safety, support and safeguarding.
• Make referrals to and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies.
• Feedback information related to service users’ needs, risk concerns, and trends to the appropriate team manager.
• Support effective team operations with a proactive, flexible approach, including covering for staff absences.

Administrative and Operational Duties

• Provide a responsive support service with high-quality customer care.
• Answer telephone calls, respond to voicemails and referrals, and carry out triage, assessments and action as appropriate.
• Assist with referral processes and early interventions, including contacting other agencies and coordinating appointments.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential written and digital records, including identifying service user needs and risk information.

About the role

As a Housing First Coach you will deliver high quality person-centred support, using psychologically and trauma informed approaches, in line with Housing First principles. You will take a bold approach to establishing open and trusting relationships with people who have had long histories of homelessness or in temporary/insecure accommodation, enabling them to access and sustain accommodation and empower them to exercise choice and control over their lives. The team is multi-disciplinary – Coaches, Peer Support Worker, Clinical Psychologist – which allows us to collaboratively formulate innovative approaches to support. The team operates across London, providing numerous opportunities to build impactful partnerships and contribute towards systems change. 

About you

· To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter, flexible and have experience of working collaboratively as part of a team and with internal and external partners. 

· You may have a background in housing/homelessness support, adult safeguarding, drug or alcohol recovery services or mental health and have significant experience of working within a multidisciplinary setting with the ability to create strong professional relationships and creative solutions. 

· You will have experience of working with people who have faced severe and multiple exclusion and who may be considered to have ‘complex needs’, with an understanding of the needs of people who have been homeless for long periods of time.

· You will be willing and able to provide practical assistance with moving into and maintaining a home – including direct help where necessary with tasks such as shopping, budgeting, cooking, and cleaning. 

· You will also have a knowledge of Housing First and housing led approaches and the ability to work within a psychologically informed approach.

Mind in Croydon is seeking to recruit a full time Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA)  to join our small, dedicated team of Independent Mental Health Advocates working to provide advocacy services to adults subjected to detention under the Mental Health Act in the London Borough of Croydon to ensure they understand, express and exercise their rights, and to enable them to access essential services. The advocacy team also provides Community Mental Health Advocacy for people who are informal patients in psychiatric hospital or living in the community and provides weekly advocacy service at two InMind Healthcare Group hospitals in Croydon.

This role is suitable for a fully qualified Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) with a proven ability to support people under the Mental Health Act. We are not considering trainee positions at this time.

In December 2024 the team was awarded the Quality Performance Mark in Advocacy, a testament to their quality of service providing safe and life-changing support.

SALARY: £30,404 per annum
plus pension contributions (above 4% by salary sacrifice.

REPORTS TO: Advocate Service Manager 

TERM: Permanent, subject to funding, full time (36 hours pw)

BASED AT: Bethlem Royal Hospital, Beckenham BR3 3BX. Advocates are also required to meet clients at different sites throughout Croydon and neighbouring boroughs.

This role supports hybrid working. Other flexible arrangements can be discussed however please note that specific flexible working arrangements such as staggered hours may not be feasible due to operational constraints set by the Hospital.

As Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer (Corporate Partnerships), you will join their award-winning fundraising team - a team of eight, including a Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships, three Philanthropy Partnerships Managers, two Philanthropy Officers and a Philanthropy and Corporate Assistant.

This is a corprorate partnerships focused Philanthropy & Partnerships Officer role, ideal for someone skilled in business development and relationship management who is passionate about driving social impact through strategic partnerships. You will work with a diverse range of companies — from global brands and corporate foundations to purpose-led SMEs — helping to deliver mutually beneficial partnerships that raise both income and profile for Hand in Hand International.

As Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer (Corporate Partnerships), you will:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate partners, corporate foundations, and institutional organisations
• Support the expansion of new, high-value strategic partnerships
• Help develop and deliver the organisation’s Cause-Related Marketing (CRM) product to raise both revenue and brand visibility
• Identify, cultivate and secure new business opportunities through proactive outreach and networking
• Contribute to the corporate team target of $3.2 million and the overall PCP team target of $7.1 million
• Collaborate with programme teams to develop tailored, impact-led proposals and partnership pitches
• Steward existing corporate partners to deepen engagement and ensure mutual value
• Build strong, strategic relationships with corporate stakeholders at all levels

Ideal skills and experience:

• At least 1 year of experience in corporate partnerships, business development, or major donor fundraising
• Proven ability to secure new partnerships and deliver tangible income results
• Track record of managing and growing six-figure relationships or accounts
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, confident engaging with senior stakeholders across sectors
• Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and ability to align business objectives with social impact
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at developing compelling proposals and pitches
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and results-focused

Welfare Rights Adviser 

Department - Support hub

Salary £32,445 per annum ( £19,467 pro rata for part time) 

Hours of work 22.5 hours a week over three days.

Base Hybrid working for the foreseeable future with regular attendance to the office at least 2 days week at Royal Free Charity, The Pears Building, Pond Street, London, NW3 2PP and Royal Free Hospital- Support Hub

The role

The welfare rights adviser will report to the welfare rights supervisor.

The welfare rights adviser  will be supporting people affected by long term health issues with financial challenges, supporting with benefit and housing advice, and referring on for further support where appropriate. 

Experience as a welfare rights adviser, including managing your own casework, is essential when applying for this role.

Principal accountabilities / responsibilities: -

Welfare rights advice and casework

· To provide welfare rights advice and casework for people affected by long-term health conditions, including inpatients, outpatients, and carers.

· To work at least two days per week on site, mainly based at the Royal Free Hospital or the Royal Free Charity office

· To provide advice and support primarily on welfare benefits and housing matters (that do not require a solicitor).

· To check whether clients are in receipt of all the benefits they are entitled to and help them claim relevant benefits.

· To help clients understand benefit decisions and challenge them (where appropriate) by way of mandatory reconsiderations and appeals.

· To help clients ensure they keep to their responsibilities in respect of their benefit claims, for example by notifying any relevant changes of circumstances.

· To refer or signpost clients to other agencies or departments as appropriate, e.g., housing solicitors; community care cases involving social services and NHS duties, FCA-regulated debt and immigration services.

· To signpost or refer to other services that might be valuable to a client such as condition specific charities, mental health support, or offerings in the local community that would improve their health and wellbeing.

· As part of this role, there may be some advice given to NHS staff.

· There may also be some involvement in new advice projects

· There will also be some triaging new referrals as part of this role

The support hub department is here to support people affected by long term health conditions (patients and carers), to help them with the practicalities of living with a chronic condition; to improve wellbeing and quality of life. 

We are here to transform patient experience and staff experience and change lives for the better.

We aim to play our part in addressing inequalities in health, through supporting with the wider determinants of health (e.g., finances, housing); areas which can have a direct impact on someone’s health outcomes and recovery. About this exciting opportunity
As Women’s Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred, holistic, and trauma-informed support to female adults serving custodial sentences or Community Orders. This includes conducting trauma-informed assessments and collaboratively developing action plans that align with prescribed outcomes.

The role involves delivering a range of tailored interventions, including group sessions, to help service users achieve their goals. Building and maintaining effective partnerships with external agencies such as Probation, Prisons, and other relevant organisations is essential to support positive outcomes. You will be expected to meet contractual targets within agreed timescales and uphold high-quality standards, accurately recording all casework activity on relevant databases. A proactive commitment to continuous learning and development is also key to ensuring the delivery of a consistently high-quality service for all service users.

What we are looking for

• Proven ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.
• Experience of working with females and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
• Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people, for example people who have complex needs, people who are reluctant to discuss their needs, and people who are angry and confused
• Experience in delivery of 1:1 and group coaching solutions, including preparation and delivery of skills and learning.
• Experience in working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project.
