About the role
You'll lead and coordinate our local campaigning work across the North East of England. Your work will help the charity improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s and those who care for them.

About the programme

Our Business Compliance Officer role sits within the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Support & Partnerships Directorate, responsible for the delivery of the Society’s information, advice and support services, through a network of volunteers and employees, and reports to the directorate Business Manager. It is a critical role within a complex and multi-faceted environment, to ensure that the whole directorate has well designed and embedded business processes relating to its regulatory, contractual, and legal requirements as well as enabling an understanding of relevant controls and assurance activities that relate to internal policies, procedures, and best practice guidance.
About the role:
- Designing, implementing, and monitoring the required processes in line with our legal and regulatory obligations, such as the overseeing the timely review of information assets, and emergency contact lists.
- Overseeing the directorate control of documented information, including policy, procedures, guidance.
- Delivering robust governance arrangements in record management processes, and health and safety requirements.
- Work alongside internal colleagues to maintain understanding and improvements in core learning requirements; and readiness for annual governance reporting such as liaising with branding and design.
About you:
- Experience of developing and monitoring business process relating to legal and/or regulatory compliance across a multi-faceted environment.
- Previously worked with records and information management and be able to articulate clearly how you have successfully delivered improvements and designs in this area.

The Graphic Designer will devise excellent creative designs and ideas to support the Refugee Council’s strategic priorities, particularity in relation to income generation and social media.

The role will also contribute to the management and execution of our new visual identity and support the management of digital assets and our social media platforms.
The Digital Team is the central hub of digital expertise within the charity and a significant amount of our communications are delivered via owned and paid-for digital communications. The Digital Team is currently involved in two core organisational projects: a rebrand and a website re-design. We have many different audiences we need to connect with, including the people we are here to help, and our digital platforms need to reflect that.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Graphic Designer’s main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver creative and considered design solutions that meet the objectives of the brief, engaging with key audiences on preferred platforms.
- Understand the organisation’s design guidelines and interpret into creative outputs that are fully on brand and drive action, inspire and inform Refugee Council’s key audiences.

Join Richmond Fellowship as a Recovery and Connect Worker and you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals access the support services and opportunities they need to improve their quality of life and ensure that their mental health is improving.
Chester and Wirral pathway is a community-based project that will assist people in hospital ready for discharge home from mental health inpatient settings. Your role will be in supporting patients in various hospital settings to overcome the barriers to them leaving hospital. This will include being part of MDT meetings, housing and benefits support, utility reconnection, identifying housing and a package of 12-week support upon discharge from hospital. Ideally candidates will have good housing experience. This is an agile role that will require travel between hospitals and the community.
Your challenge will be to support individuals with complex mental health needs to feel in control of their care, access mental health support and other local opportunities and build their emotional resilience. You’ll manage a caseload of individuals with mental health concerns, formulating support plans and establishing positive relationships with a range of multidisciplinary organisations.
You’ll need a significant understanding of mental health issues and substantial experience of working within a mental health setting where you dealt with ‘high risk’ clients and managing resources effectively. A good understanding of recovery and coproduction is important too, as is a proven ability to lead, supervise and motivate staff and delegate work appropriately. Adept at managing conflicting demands and priorities on time, you have a flexible attitude to working hours and, above all, keen to be part of something new and worthwhile that will change lives.
This is a fixed term role that ends on 31 May 2025. We have two vacancies available – one full-time role for 37.5 hours a week and one part-tie role for 15 hours a week.

On 1st June 2024, Richmond Fellowship, part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence merged with Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. In October 2024, Humankind will be renamed to reflect the new organisation.
