About the role: 

As a Sport Coordinator, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering varied activity sessions for both adults and young people across different services, both internally and externally. You will work closely with the Sport Manager to effectively coordinate support from freelancers and volunteers. Your role will extend to broadening the accessibility of sports and exercise within SHP's services and among its residents, for both adults and the young people we support. Additionally, you'll play a key part in growing the programmes reach, forging partnerships with similar organisations and charities, while also advocating for the significance of physical activity within the homeless community. 

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of Personality disorder, complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role include developing positive and sustained relationships of trust with clients supporting them to engage in regular physical activity, and see an improvement in their overall health.

• Demonstrable knowledge of fitness and sporting activities, application and implementation 
• Sports and coaching qualifications relevant tot he sector. 
• Demonstrable knowledge of motivating and supporting vulnerable adults and young people into sport and exercise. 
• Ability to develop and deliver structured group-based physical activity sessions with both adults and young people. 
• Ability to advocate for the importance of physical activity within our services.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To work alongside the FASD Services Manager, FASD Lead Advisor and FASD Advisors in the delivery of the FASD Hub services including developing/delivering FASD training; providing direct support to families, providing line management supervision to volunteers and taking a lead role in facilitating community support services including peer support groups, Advice Line and the establishment of community support groups

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·The post holder will take a lead role and play an active part in the service’s peer support activities including online peer support groups/forums, virtual community groups and the establishment of a network of local community support groups.

·Lead delivery of FASD training workshops, seminars, webinars, events, commissioned training, and bespoke sessions for parents/carers, professionals, and stakeholders. The delivery of training may be online or in person and may require travel throughout Scotland.

·Responsible for supporting FASD Hub service users through direct one-to-one support to parents/carers.

·Provide support and supervision to FASD Hub volunteers.

·The post holder will take a significant role in the design and development of training materials and resources, including updating and refreshing in line with new FASD developments and research which impact upon the FASD community.

·Support the wider work of Adoption UK to deliver training on FASD to members, staff, and stakeholders, for example as part of Kinship Care Week, Adoption Week Scotland, The Promise etc.On occasions these maybe outside Scotland.

·Provide support and guidance to the FASD Helpline Advisor and follow up targeted enhanced advice in response to helpline enquires. 

·Provide cover and answer incoming enquiries to the FASD Hub Helpline, (telephone, email, and online platforms), along with occasionally providing cover to other Adoption UK Helpline services. 

·Working alongside other team members, the post holder will have input into the development, designing and planning of content for FASD Hub social media accounts, to ensure content is factually correct and the messaging reflects that of the FASD Hub service and FASD community. 

·Attend relevant national meetings, conferences, training events, networking, and development opportunities to promote the FASD Hub services and/or delivering FASD training.

·Support the FASD Services Manager and FASD Lead Advisor with delivery of the project and collaboratively work with all FASD Hub colleagues to ensure the success and growth of the project, and where required cover for other team member absence.

We are seeking a Psychometrician for two days per week to lead psychometric analyses and interpret the examination results of the Royal College of Pathologists.

The College is responsible for the delivery of pathology examinations for doctors, scientists, oral pathologists (dentists) and veterinary pathologists in 17 specialties – the Fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). The FRCPath Part 1 is held online and is a test of knowledge while FRCPath Part 2 is held in person around the UK as well as in the Republic of Ireland and, for histopathology, in international centres such as Dubai and Egypt. The College is regulated by the General Medical Council for the medical examinations and the General Dental Council for the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology examinations, but the examinations are open to all appropriately qualified candidates.

The FRCPath examinations are held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and attracts approximately 1,200 candidates per session across the specialties. While some examinations attract up to 200 candidates, some examinations consistently attract very small numbers of candidates, with a number of examination cohorts sitting somewhere in between. The Psychometrician will advise on the appropriate data collection methods for the examinations and undertake psychometric analyses of appropriate examination data for each examination session and will, in time, be asked to provide analysis of longitudinal data.

As the College continues to develop its examinations, the Psychometrician will possess sufficient expertise to provide advice on the appropriate psychometric tests to undertake for the specialty examinations as different formats or methods of delivery are considered.

The examinations are delivered by an examinations team in the College which sits within the Learning Directorate. Each specialty examination is supported by an appropriately qualified panel, led by a Panel Chair, all of whom are overseen by the Clinical Director of Examinations (a pathologist). The Psychometrician will be expected to communicate with a wide range of individuals regarding the College examinations, with varying levels of knowledge about psychometrics, and will provide training for examiners and staff on a regular basis.

The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. The College’s main tasks are to set and maintain training standards for doctors and scientists, to advice on the appointment of consultant pathologists, to ensure the membership is kept up to date with current practice through the continuing professional development scheme, and to promote the latest developments in pathology by holding scientific meetings.

Working with a caseload in your local designated boroughs, you will produce comprehensive and high-quality assessments on their support needs; particularly their housing, employment and financial needs and follow the most suitable pathway for them.

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

We work with older people to:

• Encourage active and independent living

• Reduce isolation and loneliness

Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

1. Team Leadership: Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers, including a cook, support worker, minibus driver, and sessional workers.
2. Day-to-Day Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Elders Core Service, including the lunch club, transport, social sessions, and overseeing the one-to-one work of the core team.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate activity records, registers, and casework notes for the core team.
• Outreach and Support: Conduct outreach work with older people in the community, oversee home visits, and manage a small caseload.

• Recruitment and Line Management: Recruit and manage the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook, and relevant social activities workers and volunteers.
• Performance Management: Use performance management and quality systems to monitor and evaluate the project's work and processes.

3. Relationships, Communication, and Networks

• Member Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with elder members.
• Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
• Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.

4. Finance

• Budget Management: Manage project areas to budget and maintain financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme.

5. Other Duties

• Professional Development: Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal. Identify job-related development and training needs.

This will span three main projects:

· to successfully manage a marketing agency to effectively market the HerVenture app to women in South Africa (as part of a fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Mar ‘25);

· to successfully manage the same marketing agency to promote the app in Nigeria (as part of a separate fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Dec ‘24); and

· to effectively promote the opportunity to become a mentor to a woman entrepreneur through our Mentoring Women in Business programme to paying professionals worldwide. Your objective will be to secure 18+ paid mentors for the Nov ’24 programme intake and 20+ for the May ’25 intake.

Following the completion of the two HerVenture marketing projects, you will also lead other programme marketing initiatives in 2025. These will be determined in late 2024.

Following the May ’25 Mentoring intake you will deliver a strategy, harnessing your learning and analysis to outline an approach for marketing the programme to paying mentors in future.

You will also be called on to support other forms of programme marketing on an ad hoc basis, for example advising on development of corporate pitch decks, or co-designing materials for fundraising events.

This position reports directly to the Head of Communications and Marketing, however this is a highly collaborative role and you will also work closely with the Entrepreneurship programmes team and the Programme Funding team to develop and deliver plans and manage projects.

Our ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and motivated marketer with experience in ‘selling’ professional development / online volunteering opportunities, and in managing agencies and contractors to deliver on fixed projects as aligned to good marketing practices. You should be highly organised and goals-driven, with a collaborative approach, a growth-oriented mindset, and a strong desire to harness the power of marketing to support women’s economic empowerment.

To support the fantastic work we do we are seeking to recruit an Employee Relations Officer to help support the wider Human Resources team as they develop and deploy policies and procedures which support our People Plans across the whole company.

About the Role

Working as part of a dedicated and committed in-house HR Team you will support the full employee lifecycle and;

• Advise managers and staff on all ER issues and lead on case management including Absence, Flexible Working, Probation, Capability
• Confidently and proactively review, update and develop policies to support the People Plan in line with legislation and best practice
• Provide support to the Employee Relations Manager, including maintaining databases, preparing letter templates, attending meetings, taking minutes, filing, policy research and updates
• Prepare and analyse data for regular HR reports
• Support wider HR initiatives as required

Who we are looking for

To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate experience of working in a HR team and have;

• Casework experience within Employee Relations and knowledge of employment law and best practice
• Experience in delivering an HR service within a busy working environment
• Confidence in delivering advice to all levels of staff and challenge constructively where necessary
• A passion for reducing absence and promoting health and wellbeing
• A high level of organisational skills with the ability to understand detailed information
• A CIPD qualification or part qualified or equivalent experience

We’re looking for someone with first level NMC registration, who has a highly specialised knowledge of Parkinson’s, and recent experience of supporting a wide range of people with Parkinson’s from diagnosis to end of life within health and social care settings. 

About the role 

You’ll provide expert nursing advice, support and information on Parkinson’s and related conditions to people contacting Parkinson’s UK national helpline. 

You’ll empower people affected by Parkinson’s, their families, friends and carers to live lives that are as fulfilling as possible whatever that means to them; and that they feel able to take an active role in their treatment and become their own advocate in health and life, wherever possible.

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert telephone nursing advice, support and information on Parkinson’s, signposting clients to appropriate internal and external resources as necessary.

• Develop and update professional knowledge of all aspects of Parkinson’s and Parkinsonism to ensure that the information and advice provided is accurate and based on best available evidence.

• Undertake national helpline work to ensure cover across the helpline’s working hours and in line with guidance and as part of a dedicated team.

• Maintain your own knowledge of the work of the charity and other health and social care providers.

What you’ll bring:

• Ability to provide information on Parkinson’s medications without prescribing or recommending specific drugs. 

• Knowledge of the importance of raising safeguarding concerns.

• Experience of providing telephone support, including use of active listening and questioning skills, and demonstrable digital competence, including online case management systems

• Ability to cope with challenging or emotional situations and/or people. 

• Able to work collaboratively and in partnership with others.

This post is an exciting opportunity to work with Nottingham City’s PCN 8 (Clifton and Meadows).. Using the Macmillan Electronic Holistic Needs Assessment to support Cancer Care Reviews will ensure patients have access to the right support for all their non-clinical needs. The post will also work on the preventative agenda, supporting uptake of cancer screening across the PCNs and supporting the practices within the PCNs to deliver their improvement plan around early diagnosis of cancer. (in line with NHS England and NHS Improvement -  QOF Quality Improvement domain 20/21 – Early diagnosis of cancer).

 You will work in partnership with GP surgeries to give non-medical support that maximises patients’ wellbeing through their Cancer journey. The primary role is to do Cancer Care Reviews, with access to each surgery’s IT systems to track patient lists, document, and communicate with practice staff. This role will involve liaising with services from within the NHS structure as well as external services, so you will need to be skilled in navigating intricate processes and organisational structures from both the inside and the outside. You will also help with improving screening uptake and community engagement, building relationships with local services and groups to further enhance the support.
