About the project
The Housing Advice Practitioner will by providing tailored advice and guidance through mainly remote online or phone support, as well as in person housing advice at a weekly housing advice surgery in the community. The role will include advocacy, coordination with legal services, workshops, and ensuring sustained support for families.
This new Information and Advice Support Service is established to a) provide a light touch swift response service for less complex housing issues; and b) develop mechanisms for the early identification of emerging housing problems.
About the role

This role involves responding to enquiries, conducting housing surgeries, and running workshops to empower clients with the knowledge and skills to address their housing-related issues. In this role, you will be working in partnership with community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to address their housing issues. About the role and you

Sitting in the immigration team, you will work on our Legal Aid contract alongside a team of Immigration Advisors working on a mix of grant funded projects for migrants unable to afford private representation. Main Roles
Manage a full caseload of complex immigration matters funded by legal aid, including
asylum, human rights, and deportation cases.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations (IAAS, SRA, LAA).
Complete funding applications, manage provider submissions, track time, prepare
and submit legal aid bills and ensure compliance with LAA obligations.
Provide ad hoc supervision, mentoring or training to members of the immigration
team working on related immigration matters.
Specific Duties
1.Manage a full caseload of complex immigration matters funded by legal aid,

b.Prepare, draft and file appeals to the First-tier and Upper Tribunals and conduct
appeals hearings as required.

Advice Pro as appropriate and as required by management.
g.Advocate on behalf of clients by telephone, letter and email with appropriate

2. Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations (IAAS, SRA, LAA).
a.Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with IAA, IAAS
registration or similar professional body, e.g. SRA
b.Keep up to date at all times with changes in the law by reading and attending
training events relating to asylum and immigration.
c.Adhere to casework procedures as outlined in LRMN’s policies, the IAA, SRA,
IAAS, SQM and AQS.
d.To maintain accurate and detailed case records of clients for the purpose of
continuity of casework, information retrieval and statistical monitoring, using
manual or/and computerised systems (Advicepro) as appropriate and as required
by management.
e.Produce reports to meet funder’s and LRMN requirements.
f.Work closely with the Immigration Manager and/or external evaluator in gathering
data and information to produce accurate monitoring and evaluation reports.
g.To assist LRMN in liaising with its funders and to provide statistical information
and updates as required.
3. Complete funding applications, manage provider submissions, track time, prepare and
submit legal aid bills and ensure compliance with LAA obligations.
a.Complete initial funding applications and any subsequent variations or
exceptional funding requests; gather and upload supporting evidence; ensure
eligibility and means assessments are correctly recorded.
b.Submit and monitor claims through the LAA portal (or other relevant portals),
respond to queries or requests for further information, and liaise with LAA
caseworkers or contract managers as required.
c.Draft detailed bills in the required format, check calculation of fees and
disbursements, obtain necessary approvals, and submit within contractual
deadlines.
d.Maintain documentary proof to satisfy LAA audit requirements (attendance
notes, advice records, evidence of means), respond to audit enquiries, and
implement remedial actions where required.
4. Provide ad hoc supervision, mentoring or training to members of the immigration team
working on related immigration matters.
a.Maintain close liaison with the Immigration Manager to ensure a unified approach

Role Overview:

- Enable are seeking an experienced Smoking Cessation Advisor to play a key role in shaping, developing and implementing an innovative stop-smoking pilot programme in London.
- Reporting to the Health Promotion Manager, this role will involve working closely with health care providers and community stakeholders to develop and design an evidence-based, behaviour change intervention, aimed at reducing smoking prevalence across targeted populations.
- This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist with expertise in tobacco dependence, behaviour change, and public health programme design to lead the development of a smoking cessation pilot.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop a high-quality smoking cessation pilot programme
- Conduct needs assessments and analyse local smoking prevalence data to inform programme design.
- Lead on the design, development, and delivery of a high-quality stop-smoking pilot programme, tailored to meet local population needs.
- Develop training materials and resources for facilitators delivering the programme.
Specialist Support and Advice
- Provide guidance and advice on evidence-based smoking cessation strategies, including behaviour change support.
- Provide high-quality smoking cessation behavioural support and pharmacological advice, in line with evidence-based practice, to individuals wishing to stop smoking or using tobacco products.
- Advise on compliance with relevant NHS, NICE, and local authority guidelines.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communications
- Support stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and communications to promote the pilot and ensure effective collaboration.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the pilot programme through data collection methods such as questionnaires and focus groups with participants.
- Identify and report areas of success and opportunities for improvement, providing recommendations for future programme development.
Skills and Experience:
- Educated to degree level in health, social care, public health, or significant professional experience in smoking cessation.
- Proven experience working within local authorities, the NHS, or similar public health settings.
- Completion of the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) certification.
- Strong knowledge and practical understanding of stop-smoking medications and their appropriate use.
- In-depth understanding of behaviour change theories & techniques, along with their application in smoking cessation programmes.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing pilot programmes or other community-based health interventions.

The role:

About the Role
The Child Participation and External Engagement Advisor is responsible for shaping child and youth engagement at World Vision UK, including leading the Youth Advocacy Network and ensuring young people’s views and voices are at the heart of everything WVUK does internally and in external engagement.
