We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual with experience of contributing to policy and the ability to communicate our position in Scotland to a wide range of audiences and develop our profile.
You’ll help mobilise the Scottish MS Community to make a powerful case for continued improvement in the treatment, care and support of people living with MS.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Casework Administrator in the Scotland Region at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.
About the role
You will be providing specialist administrative support, working closely with branch volunteers in order to ensure a consistent, timely, quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries. This will include supporting volunteer caseworkers, call handling, signposting and triaging initial enquiries. The post is home-based, but you will need to be able to travel around Scotland once COVID restrictions are lifted.

About the team
In this new role you will initially be working closely with the volunteers who run SSAFA in Scotland, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries but also facilitating their work to raise awareness of SSAFA, increase the number of volunteers and build a sustainable future for SSAFA in Scotland. Over time we anticipate that the successful candidate will increase their support to SSAFA branches and volunteers across Scotland.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will be a team player with excellent organisational, customer service, communication, and IT skills. You will also have experience of working with volunteers and the ability to handle welfare cases with sensitivity and empathy. You must be highly motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision in a home-based environment.
Knowledge of the Armed Forces and ex-Forces community would be an advantage but is not essential.
An excellent understanding of MS Office 365 (particularly databases, remote applications (such as MS Teams) and MS Excel) is essential). You should have at least a basic understanding of accounting principles and some experience of operating accounting software. However, we will train you in the SSAFA -specific systems you will need for the role.

Build strategic and operational relationships with key teams across Cancer Research UK including support for our research and fundraising work.

To be successful in this role you need...
Essential:
Excellent understanding of the political environment and experience in successfully influencing for change in Scotland.
Excellent political judgement, with commitment to neutrality and ability to work across the political spectrum.

About the role
As Member Involvement Coordinator, you will be part of a team responsible for creating opportunities for people with lived experience of homelessness in the design, development and delivery of Crisis’s work. You will co-ordinate he involvement of people with lived experience of homelessness in a range of events and projects across the organisation. Over the last few years, our ability to involve member in meaningful ways that genuinely impact their progression out of homelessness has gone from strength to strength. We are looking to expand the Member Involvement team to increase our visibility and our capacity to support teams to embed co-production in their work and increase the number of opportunities we make available to our members.

THE ROLE
The Public Affairs Officer role will work to increase the Trust’s influence through public affairs and policy work, building strong partnerships with environmental NGOs, politicians at local and national government level and relevant stakeholders. An integral part of this role is the ability to lead on the Trust’s advocacy relationship with local authorities and the two national parks across Scotland to ensure policy support and resource allocation for woodland protection, creation, and restoration. In particular, the Public Affairs Officer will support planning policy influencing at the local and national government level.
THE CANDIDATE
You’ll possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills and a good understanding of how to deploy them within a political context. Working experience of Scottish politics and environmental policy, and a keen interest in current affairs are a must alongside the ability to be a good advocate for the Woodland Trust's mission. You must be able to travel for site visits and meetings, sometimes in remote areas of Scotland, and with some overnight stays.
