The sessions will range from outdoor activities in green spaces to world of work experiences, creative projects, life skills and everything in between!  You won’t be sitting behind a screen every day, this is an active role which will involve frequent travel to Portsmouth and Southampton to deliver these exciting programmes, as well as programme visits and short residential trips. You will provide pastoral support for young people, helping them to apply their newly acquired skills to their progression into education or employment. However, it’s not all fun and games, keeping things on point means meticulously recording info and data about our programme participants, volunteers, and partners. It's all about making sure every step of their journey aligns perfectly with our funding contracts and has maximum impact for everyone involved.

We are looking for Senior Operations Contracts Lead

Location: Based across multiple locations with the flexibility to work from home up to two days each week. The three key locations for this role are Portsmouth, Caversham and Bedfordshire. The expectation is that a minimum of three days per week are spent in face-to-face, in-person contact (e.g. in Women’s Centres, Estates or external visits), and one of these days being a monthly visit to Head Office (the purpose being for interaction with colleagues and Central functions). About You:

To be successful as the Senior Operations Contracts Lead you will need the below experience and skills:

A thorough understanding of and knowledge of the issues relating to women in the criminal justice system

• A sound knowledge of safeguarding adult and children principles, child abuse, child protection issues and safeguarding
• A good knowledge and understanding of organisational systems and frameworks, line management and project management
• Significant experience, likely to have been gained over several years, of strategic planning and operational management at a service manager level, and developing and delivering services at senior service management level
• Significant experience of working with women and/or service users with a complex range of needs, particularly within the criminal justice system, in custody and/or community.
• Experience of developing relationships with funders/commissioners and achieving required outcomes
• Experience of implementing quality assurance frameworks, monitoring, evaluating and measuring impact

Job Purpose 

To support the manager and deliver on the home and settle services across two hospitals, supporting the wider team, and provide leadership when necessary. You will work in collaboration with AUKEL, the hospitals, and other community health and social care colleagues.

The service supports people returning home after a stay in hospital, helping them to settle back at home, regain confidence and support with some practical tasks, e.g. shopping/cleaning.  You will manage referrals, carry out assessments, and with the Manager, allocate service users to Discharge and Settle Worker caseloads. You will provide direct frontline support and co-ordinate visits to the service users’ home in preparation for their return home, as necessary. You will work collaboratively to lead and manage your team to support the smooth transition from hospital to home for service users.  The service is time limited, usually up to 6 weeks, to adjust and settle back in their homes.

Key Tasks 

• Act as the first point of contact for all referrals across the hospital they are attached to. 

• Meet with patients in the community and/or hospital and carrying out assessments and risk assessments

• Enter referrals on to AUKEL’s case management system (currently Charity Log) in accordance with GDPR guidelines. 

• Allocate referrals to Discharge and Settle workers using tech available (currently the Call Round App), training will be available. 

• Collecting feedback from service users and uploading to case management system. 

• Prepare and keep stock of AUKEL Welcome Packs and service leaflets. 

• Deputise for the Manger at discharge planning and other meetings as directed. 

• Support the hospital to improve the patient’s experience of the discharge process 

• Monitor the case loads of each of the Discharge and Settle workers (DSW) to ensure they are evenly and fairly balanced. 

• Work collaboratively with other agencies providing support services. 

• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary admission to hospital. 

• Plan and develop person centred interventions to provide short term support for people after hospital discharge. 

• Deliver the front-line services as required e.g. when there is high demand, sickness or staff shortages. 

• Provide occasional weekend cover for the A/L of other Project Officers

• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary admission to hospital. 

• Supervise, support and develop DSWs and volunteers in your service. 

• Liaise with the handyperson service about referrals and jobs for service users.

Administration 

• Keep AUKEL case management system up-to-date, input all data, and ensure all referrals, interventions, time spent with service users are recorded.

• Ensure wards have good supply of service leaflets and referral forms. 

• Ensure data collected meets the requirements of the service’s contract monitoring and key performance indicators.

The BACCH Education and Training Administrator is a newly created role supporting the British Association for Community Child Health (BACCH), a specialty group of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. This role will take the lead on setting up and delivering educational courses and events for clinicians working in Community Child Health, including webinars, regional events, and the BACCH Annual Scientific Meeting.

Reporting to the BACCH Executive Officer, you will coordinate the development of a structured education and training offer, manage logistics for online and in-person courses, and support initiatives such as trainee-led learning and paid short courses. The Humane League is seeking a self-motivated, organized, collaborative individual with the drive to create progressive change for millions of farmed animals as part of our Global Corporate Engagement team. As Temporary Global Corporate Engagement Coordinator, you will support global corporate engagement work by recording and maintaining data on cage-free and broiler chicken welfare policies and providing crucial administrative support to the team. You will manage our research databases and conduct research on food companies, finding corporate policies, company contacts, and other information to inform global campaigns and corporate relations work. You will also work closely with members of the Open Wing Alliance (OWA), our global coalition of animal protection groups, to share data and progress, and you’ll coordinate with member organizations and/or third parties to translate global commitments into key languages. 

You are passionate about The Humane League’s mission of ending the abuse of animals raised for food and are keen to use data to support this work. While working autonomously is an important part of this role, the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders will also be paramount to your success. You are able to work independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment, and you bring the organizational skills needed to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently. This position reports to the Director of Global Corporate Engagement.

This is a temporary, full-time, remote position, beginning in late February and ending in late August. The duration may be extended or shortened at The Humane League’s discretion. The temporary hire will provide coverage while a permanent staff member is on maternity leave, with overlap for training and onboarding. • Work with the OWA to collect key language translations of global cage-free and broiler chicken commitments so that groups around the world can leverage commitments in their respective regions.
• Assist with setting the Global Corporate Engagement team’s strategy, bringing a data lens to inform strategic decisions. 
• Independently perform research on food companies to support global campaigns and corporate negotiations, finding details such as executive contact information, existing animal welfare policies, corporate brand portfolios, worldwide locations, and more. 
• Refine the team’s list of hundreds of global companies in order to identify the top companies to prioritize. Annually update data on the top global companies, tracking their revenue, number of locations, countries of operation, welfare commitments, and more.
• Carry out administrative duties for team meetings including scheduling, agenda creation, note-taking, and facilitation. 
• Create presentations for OWA corporate engagement webinars. Co-lead presentations and provide tech support as needed.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will monitor and manage the receipt of referrals from Probation through the Customer Approved System (CAS) and ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales and provide regular activity reports to the Wellbeing Manager.  You will act as the primary point of contact for all enquiries, external and internal, to ensure communication channels are clear and effective, while also liaising with external stakeholders (such as prisons), delivery partners, spot purchase providers and other agencies to arrange appointments, referrals, and generally ensure information exchanged is done in a clear, timely and effective manner.

We will also count on you to develop and maintain processes for recording and monitoring resource allocation such as staff and volunteer expenses, spot purchase expenditure, training and provide regular reports to the Wellbeing Manager, plus provide administration for meetings, including bookings, invitations and minute-taking.  Proactively adopting a learning approach to the role, improving skills and knowledge to continue providing a high-quality service for service users is also a key element of this role.

What we are looking for

• An understanding of the barriers faced by people with complex and multiple needs
• The ability to manage their workload including prioritising tasks and communicating with colleagues where delegation or allocation is required.
• Experience of creating and communicating performance and budgetary reports in a variety of formats
• Proficient in inputting data onto Customer Relationship Management Systems accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Ability to coach volunteers so they understand the necessary processes as part of their role
• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written
• Excellent IT skills and a professional, empathetic and flexible approach to your work

Susan’s Farm is an energetic organisation delivering a broad range of activities. Our charitable purpose is to transform people’s lives through learning and therapeutic experiences on an organic working livestock farm. After six years as a charity, and following a recent governance and staffing review, we are now seeking to appoint a dedicated managing director to oversee all aspects of the charity’s work. The Managing Director will join a small but committed staff team and report to enthusiastic board of trustees.

Susan’s Farm is based in Houghton, a small village 3 miles from Carlisle and delivers its educational activities on site as well as on the other half of our farm near Armathwaite and for a neighbouring farmer at Aglionby. We have a small learning centre at Houghton and also work closely with Cumbria Wildlife Trust whose Northern office is on land adjacent to our farm.

We have three main strands of delivery; primary school visits, alternative provision placements and care farmer placements and are certified by Social Farms & Gardens. We are a beef and sheep Organic and Pasture for Life certified Farm. We also have hens and geese and some horticultural activity. Our farm produce is sold direct to the customer.

Susan’s Farm is a registered charity converting from a CIC in 2019.   Before that our founder, Susan Aglionby ran educational activities on the farm over a period of more than 20 years. Over the last six years considerable effort has been devoted to professionalising the organisation and our delivery work and we are no ready for the next stage.

ROLE FOCUS: 

To support, manage and provide dynamic leadership to Susan’s Farm and its staff and services. Working with the Board of Trustees to ensure that Susan’s Farm meets its requirements, as a charity in delivering services, and to maintain its reputation as a national and local leader in working to provide services to its beneficiaries through the experience of a farm. To further develop the organisation and the services it offers promoting the charity’s principles.
