This is a demanding, yet hugely fulfilling new post in which the post holder will have overall responsibilty for the management and day to day operations of our new mobile support van. A large proportion of the post holder's time will be spent taking the van along with a team of volunteers on outreach to where there are survivors of sex trafficking. Our immediate priority area is Bedford. This will involve driving to sites of sexual exploitation and trafficking, such as the streets, properties used as brothels, airports and other places, as necessary. The post holder will lead outreach sessions supported by trained volunteers, in partnership with Bedfordshire Police and UK Border Force. The post holder will be a part of Azalea's frontline team (we call this Encompass) and will work with them to offer survivors of sex trafficking crisis intervention and ongoing support. The nature of this form of outreach will require the post holder to work flexible and unsociable hours (37.5 hours per week), however Azalea offers a generous annual leave allowance. Since this is a new role, the post holder will be required to use their initiative and draw on the knowledge and experience of the team to develop a full-time operational plan for the support van.

About IKWRO
IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.
We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.
IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.
As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.
We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies to protect women’s and girl’s rights.
The post-holder will be required to work in a confidential setting and provide non directive support to improve mental health and social functioning of women who are experiencing different forms of gender based violence. The post-holder will be professionally trained, accredited and work within the BACP/BPS Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (2018) or equivalent.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
·Provide a service in line with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) guidelines or equivalent.
·To support the management team with the strategic development of IKWRO’s counselling services.
·The provision of effective and high-quality Counselling and Psychotherapy services to IKWRO’s clients through making use of up to date service standards and IKWRO’s Counselling Guidelines.
·To agree a counselling contract with IKWRO’s clients and provide a timely, responsive and appropriate service.
·Carrying out a small one to one clinical caseload and/or depending on the team’s clinical capacity.
·To manage waiting lists according to the level of risk, delivery plans and organisational priorities.

The primary purpose of this role is to design, develop, and implement a comprehensive continuum of care, supporting young people in our local community who have had a more challenging start in life. - Supporting and working with the Senior Management Team on the development and implementation of the Trust’s long-term strategy, through development and delivery of annual business plans and associated budgets and KPIs
- Providing strong financial and budgetary management oversight and focus the development of diverse and sustainable income sources
- Ensuring that management policies and decisions support the agreed vision, mission, values and strategy of the Trust
- Role modelling the values and behaviours of Gwent Wildlife Trust to continue developing a positive high-performance culture
External Relations and People Contacts:
- Be a persuasive and influential advocate, raising the profile of Gwent Wildlife Trust, The Wildlife Trusts, and the importance of nature in solving society’s challenges
- Develop and enhance relationships with key stakeholders and strategic partners
- Support the Senior Management Team to develop contacts with key stakeholders and develop strategic partnerships
- Engage with key decision-makers including SMs, MPs, Local Authorities, local councillors, corporate leaders, and community champions, to position the Trust and promote its objectives
- Support the Senior Management Team with major fundraising initiatives
- Co-operate and collaborate with the The Wildlife Trust central team, other Wildlife Trusts in Wales and across the UK
Organisational and Operational Management to include:
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with the Chairman, Honorary Officers and Trustees to ensure lawful and effective governance
- Lead the Trust’s Senior Management Team including holding monthly one to one meeting and annual appraisals
- Oversee financial management systems, ensuring the timely preparation and effective achievement of annual budgets
- Co-develop and deliver an annual Business Plan which aligns with the 2030 Strategy
- Oversee compliance with all statutory requirements (including Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Employment Law, GDPR, etc.)
- Ensure effective communication with staff, trustees and volunteers
- Work with the trustees to implement appropriate risk management systems
- Deepen the Trusts commitment to the Welsh language

We are working in partnership with the SightCare Group who are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Executive Officer to lead their optical sector group of companies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for both the operational and strategic development of the Group’s businesses and the management of a small team of staff. Ideally, but not essentially, you will have experience and understanding of membership organisations and the B2B retail sector. You will be able to demonstrate a successful career to date possibly in a senior role within an SME or not for profit.
The role of the CEO consists of a range of responsibilities to execute the day-to-day work of the Group, working closely with the Chair, Deputy Chair and Board of Non-Executive Directors, to serve the membership, supported by the Executive Team.
You will have:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably as CEO or in a comparable position.
- A knowledge of how not-for-profit organisations operate with a proven business background.
- Ideally experience within the membership, trade/professional association, or optical industry.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Demonstrated success in advocacy, relationship building, and stakeholder management.
