We are seeking a supportive and confident People Adviser with solid employee relations experience to help managers and staff navigate HR issues fairly, consistently, and in line with best practice.

Position: People Adviser – ER
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum

About the role

This is a hands on role providing first line HR advice and support across the organisation. You will be a trusted point of contact for staff and managers, helping them resolve people issues with confidence while ensuring policies are applied fairly.

You will also support the People Partner and Business Partner with employee relations casework, HR administration, policy compliance, and general queries. Your guidance will help managers lead well, improve consistency, and strengthen staff engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing first line HR advice to managers and employees
• Supporting employee relations cases including performance, disciplinary and grievance matters
• Ensuring HR policies are applied fairly and consistently
• Managing HR administration including contracts, changes, absence records and exit interviews
• Maintaining accurate HR documentation and records
• Supporting policy review and implementation
• Contributing to employee engagement and wellbeing activities
• Helping identify training needs and supporting HR related training
• Managing HR data and preparing reports

About you

You will be approachable, clear and supportive, confident providing advice and building trust with staff at all levels.

Essential skills and experience:

• Experience providing HR advice and HR administration support
• Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Experience handling employee relations cases
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Able to handle confidential information with discretion
• Comfortable using HR systems and Microsoft Office

Desirable:

• Experience in the charity, health or social care sector
• Working towards CIPD Level 5
• BSL skills or willingness to learn

We are now recruiting for a Head of Building & Facilities to join our team! In this crucial role, you will have overall responsibility for the management and maintenance of the building and ensuring the appropriate provision of facilities at JW3, including services and equipment. You will also lead on the management of contracts with outsourced suppliers, including those responsible for building maintenance, IT and telephones, security, and cleaning. This role reports into and will collaborate closely with the Director of Finance & Operations. 

As a key part of our management team, you will directly contribute to our mission of creating open and welcoming Jewish spaces that bring different people together, strengthen identities, and build community through arts, culture, education, and social action.

Some of the core duties include:

• Ensure the building – both externally and internally – is maintained and serviced to a high standard in accordance with agreed budgets
• Oversee and regularly review the work conducted by contractors providing specific services to JW3
• Consult with specialist professional contractors to oversee the development and implementation of longer term (5-10 year) plans for building lifecycle replacements and improvements, including energy efficiency and environmental matters
• Take responsibility for the building’s health and safety policy, its implementation, monitoring and reporting

Developing  strategy, as well as leading and managing IT and digital change projects should be second nature to you.  Similarly, you will be experienced in mentoring teams and controlling websites, CMS platforms and integrated digital systems. A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline would be beneficial, alongside knowledge of data protection legislation, digital accessibility and inclusion, Squiz DXP, Azure, Intune and AWS. However your ability to communicate effectively with non-technical colleagues is just as important. Above all, you will bring everything it takes to get the most out of people, systems and budgets, with real passion for cutting-edge technology and the drive and determination to make things happen.

We’re looking for an organised, detail-focused leader to run our winter night shelter across multiple church venues. Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish Cymru and 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of the families, so they don't have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We are an All-Wales charity providing immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.

Purpose of role:

What we do for you:

Salary: Starting salary of £32,000 per annum.

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Normal hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable.

Pension: 2wish operate a contributory pension scheme. 2wish will auto-enrol you into the scheme in accordance with it's auto-enrolment obligations. Full details of the scheme will be provided to you once you are enrolled, including the minimum level of contributions that you will be required to make during your membership (current contributions - employer 3% and employee 5%).

Mileage: A fixed rate allowance is payable for agreed mileage undertaken on 2wish business in a private vehicle, over and above your usual journey to your workplace/s.
