As Head of Services, you’ll oversee our day-to-day service delivery—ensuring it remains high-quality, trauma-informed, and aligned with our values. - Able to network effectively and collaborating with other professionals to achieve a positive outcome for people.
- Good IT skills, experience working with databases and virtual meeting software (Teams / Zoom).

This role is hybrid, working from home and the office in London and also involves regular travel throughout the area.

The Role
As a Male Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will ensure that male survivors’ safety & housing needs are met. You will provide specialist support at the moment of crisis, providing advocacy & support to access safe accommodation ensuring the safety, security & dignity of service users & their children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess risks and needs using evidence-based checklists.
- Focus on high-risk cases with short to medium-term crisis intervention.
- Assist high-risk victims in accessing safety services.
- Deliver tailored support and information.
- Understand legal frameworks for protecting children and vulnerable adults.
- Provide advocacy on legal, housing, health, and financial options.

About You
Ideally, you will have knowledge about legal remedies for domestic abuse victims and have experience working with drug, alcohol, and mental health issues. An understanding benefits, housing, and homelessness would also be beneficial.
You will need:
- Knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on victims and children.
- Awareness and understanding of the barriers men face when accessing support services.
- To demonstrate proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing.

Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) is seeking our next Executive Director to lead our small, dynamic charity. As a Housing Domestic Abuse Advocate, you will provide intervention, advocacy, and support to survivors of domestic abuse. Working within a fast-paced team, you will help empower women and ensure that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. You will have your own caseload of survivors who hold social tenancies with local authorities or housing associations, and you will encourage them to engage with our service and ensure they have access to support. You will also co-ordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with domestic abuse survivors to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness.
About You:
To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job. You will have a good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities. You will have proven skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning. We will expect that you have experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have and an understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children. Lastly you will bring your knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.
With many skills and qualities to add to this role, if you have good IT literacy, data collection and monitoring these skills are maximised in your role. If you have experience or have been trained or are qualified in the fields related to substance misuse, criminal jusice, law, social work or domestic abuse we would love to hear from you.

Overview of the Philanthropy Manager role and the team
Barnabas Aid is seeking a proactive and experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our International Outreach team. This new role is integral to ensuring the growth and sustainability of our work through regular or one time organisational and personal donations. The Philanthropy Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy in support of this, targeting potential supporters who wish to leave a lasting impact through Barnabas’ work. The role will involve cultivating relationships with current and prospective organisational and private UK based and international supporters, overseeing communications and marketing strategies, and ensuring that Barnabas Aid’s fund raising programme is promoted effectively across all channels.
As part of a dynamic fundraising team, the Philanthropy Manager will work closely with the Head of Campaigns, the Living Streams Officer, and the Head of Communications. The role will also involve engagement with donors, ensuring that Barnabas Aid is at the forefront of supporters' minds when it comes to making donations or leaving a legacy for future generations of Christians in need.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Fund Raising Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive donation, legacy marketing and stewardship strategy, with the aim of increasing the number of organisational, regular and one-off individual donations in addition to legacy gifts to Barnabas Aid.
- Adherence to the Code of Fundraising Practice within this strategy.
- Fund Raising Marketing:
- Create and execute marketing campaigns that inspire organisations and supporters to consider making one off or regular donations to Barnabas Aid. This will include writing promotional materials, organising events, and developing digital campaigns to raise awareness of the variety of ways of making donations and legacy giving.
- Donor Stewardship:
- Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective donors, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated.
- Provide regular updates and tailored communications to supporters to ensure long-term engagement and support.
- Engagement & Retention:
- Work to retain donors by developing a robust stewardship programme that encourages ongoing involvement and loyalty.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Head of Campaigns and the communications team to ensure that the fund raising programme is integrated into wider campaigns and communications strategies.
- Reporting & Tracking:
- Maintain accurate records of gifts and supporters, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations eg The Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice, charity law etc.

The Area Manager (AM) is responsible for the coordination, management, development, and representation of DRC programming in the North or South of Yemen. About the role
This post will work as part of a community partnership programme, a small team providing accessible and bespoke perinatal care including, antenatal education, postnatal sessions, peer support, counselling and practical support to women from low-income migrant marginalised backgrounds.
The role will provide non-judgmental, compassionate and trauma-informed care to women accessing the service helping them to navigate complex needs and overcome barriers to access through a creative, solution-focused approach. Working alongside the Perinatal Programme Manager building and maintaining a network of local support services, helping to develop clear referral pathways and strong partner relationships.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience of supporting or working with marginalised or vulnerable groups and understanding the barriers they face to accessing support and an awareness of ways in overcoming them
- Knowledge and experience working or volunteering with women and birthing people during pregnancy and early years
- Experience working within a relevant sector e.g., maternity, children’s services, homelessness, women’s services, mental health, supporting asylum and refugee families
- A good knowledge and understanding of local support and services for the client group
- Experience in empowering women to make informed decisions about their lives and advocating for their needs and rights
- Ability to handle challenging situations and behaviour with a calm, flexible and confident approach to reach a positive resolution
- Able to work reflectively, developing an awareness of any judgements, biases or assumptions that may impact upon your work.

Are you passionate about international development and ensuring marginalised communities are able to access global health services? Do you want to be instrumental in ending one of the world’s most ancient diseases? Are you able to walk alongside our partners, across Africa and Asia, offering prayer, compassion and technical support, as they strive to transform the lives of some of the world’s most marginalised people? Is God calling you to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and serve those affected by leprosy?
Today, one person every two minutes is diagnosed with leprosy. It’s a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Left untreated, it causes permanent disability. Stigma means that people affected by this disease are often rejected by those closest to them and excluded from basic services.
Within our dynamic programmes team, you’ll be working alongside supportive colleagues who are passionate about ending leprosy and transforming lives. We have a culture of learning and growing together and will provide training in best practice, ensuring excellence in all we do. You will have at least three years’ work experience in an international development programming role or similar setting (ideally in the global South), with a degree in a relevant discipline. You will have monitoring, evaluation and research skills, with the capacity to work on your own initiative and will be an excellent cross-cultural communicator. We are particularly interested to hear from people with expertise in disability services, public health, research, quality assurance, or social enterprise development. However, those with experience in community development and working in fragile states would also be most welcome to apply.
You will be responsible for the development of UK-funded programmes, supporting the capacity development of overseas partners and managing income streams from large donors. In addition, you will champion our work on the global stage and engage in national and global advocacy on Neglected Tropical Diseases (including leprosy), global health and disability issues. This will require travel overseas for approximately eight weeks per year.

TLMGB serves the poorest of the poor in 9 countries across Africa and Asia, raising funds and developing partner capacity to provide life-changing healthcare, training and job opportunities for people who have been excluded and rejected.
