About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.
 

Job Purpose:

The Diversion Project Worker will engage with women referred through both formal and informal Liaison & Diversion (L&D) routes. Formal routes include police, courts, and other legal channels, while informal routes will focus on identifying women at greatest risk of offending. This role is designed to offer early intervention, providing structured, person-centred, and goal-focused support to provide 1:1 support, to help meet women’s immediate needs and to support them to prepare for a brighter future. From signposting and working in partnership with other grassroots organisations, to delivering group workshops and 1:1 support on topics such as mental health and wellbeing, domestic abuse, training and skills development, finance, debt and benefits.
 

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive support to women in contact with, or at risk of contact with the criminal justice system.
2. Monitor case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording, aligning with contract KPIs and WIP policies.
3. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with police, courts, and community organisations to ensure coordinated, multi-agency support for women and to strengthen referral pathways.
4. Contribute to organisational development and personal growth through innovation, self-care, and professional learning.

Salary range: £25,630 - £30,490 (depending on experience) + 8% shift allowance per annum

Hours: 35 per week covering a range of shifts (between 7am and 10pm for Monday to Friday, and 8am to 4pm for Saturday and Sunday)  

Typical shifts include: 7am-3pm/8am-4pm/10am-6pm /2pm-10pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Arrest Referral Worker in our CARS team, which has had, and continues to receive, national recognition.

Cranstoun are proud to work with the West Midlands Police Crime and Commissioner to deliver the Cranstoun Arrest Referral Service within the custody suites of West Midlands Police, and West Midlands Courts, offering drug and alcohol using offenders the opportunity to break the cycle of substance related crime.

You will work between police custody and criminal courts. You will assess, advise and refer offenders, providing them the opportunity to access treatment to address their substance use. Working with courts you will promote the use of Community Sentence Treatment Requirements (Drug Rehabilitations Requirements and Alcohol Treatment Requirements) amongst all court professionals and the judiciary, contributing to Pre Sentence Reports and advocate for our service users.  

You will be responsible for delivering all elements of substance use work including assertive engagement, harm reduction support (including naloxone provision), as well as other associated duties. You need to have an understanding of the issues faced by people who use drugs and alcohol, and who commit crime, and be dedicated to delivering a service that supports these individuals to make positive changes to their behaviour, health and well-being.

The Purpose of the Role

As Director of Communications, UK, you lead IRC UK’s core communications strategy with the objectives of growing our profile, influencing policy, driving income, and building our reputation. This is done by taking a strategic approach to generating effective messaging for cross-team use, creatively collaborating to produce cut-through external products across media and digital channels, and generating top tier media coverage in collaboration with communications, advocacy and fundraising colleagues globally. In this role you will be expected to use expert judgment to manage IRC UK’s reputation, as well as ensure media and digital outputs protect clients, staff and programming from harm. 

The Director will report to the UK Executive Director and the Acting Senior Director of Global Public Affairs. The Director will collaborate closely with the Director for Digital Engagement, UK Advocacy Director, and the Director of UK Mass Markets to meet the organization’s strategic objectives surrounding profile, income and influence.

Scope and Authority

Authority:

●The role holder sets strategic direction for UK communications, with a focus on earned media, public advocacy and organic digital.

●The role oversees the UK comms operational budget, with access to the Global External Relations budget.

Main Responsibilities

● Uphold the aims and principles of the Helping Hands Community Trust and the Leicester South Foodbank.

● Research, validate, and analyse information provided by a client in order to support and advise them on how to prioritise their debts and ways to repay it affordably and provide advice on dealing with the impacts

● Develop and agree realistic client budgets that fully reflect the client’s situation.

● Present a range of solutions, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages according to the client’s personal situation and make recommendations based on this information

Casework

• Using the CMS AdvicePRO database to maintain electronic case records, for the purpose of continuing casework and information retrieval. These records must be inputted onto the database immediately following the appointment to ensure the records are up to date and accurate
• Act where necessary by calculating, drafting or writing letters and producing written submissions for clients as appropriate
• Negotiate with third parties
• Ensure income maximisation through the take up of appropriate benefits
• Prepare paper submissions to the appropriate statutory bodies, tribunals and courts as appropriate.

Purpose of job

The Support and Integration Officer is responsible for providing excellent standards of support,
as well as quality information advice and guidance, to enable the resettlement and successful

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking, with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

Working within experienced and committed teams, the Behaviour Change Worker will deliver trauma responsive interventions including one to one support and group work to prevent harm.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

There is a requirement for evening working – approximately once per week to deliver group work interventions. There may be a requirement to work weekends. 

Key Responsibilities

• Complete specialist risk assessments according to service guidelines and Respect standards, alongside developing personalised safety and support plans for programme participants.
• Deliver one to one specialist behaviour change interventions for people with vulnerabilities, complex or multiple needs and those who require additional support to access our services.
• Co-facilitate short term and long-term group work, providing a Respect accredited DVPP (Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme) programme.
• Promote the service externally and ensure our interventions are accessible.
