Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has expertise in developing influential media campaigns and shares our compassion and commitment to deliver positive outcomes for nature. You will be a highly organised, motivated, curious and creative individual who is comfortable working on integrated communications and PR campaigns and working with stakeholders from across the organisation to find the story.

You will have strong influencing and networking skills, always searching for new and inventive ways to shout about Plantlife and grow our audience. You will be detail orientated and adept at managing multiple projects at once.

What will you be doing?

This is a key role within our dedicated communications team and will focus on leveraging and shaping Plantlife’s activity and presence in the media, alongside a job share colleague. You will support the Head of Communications and Engagement with the leadership, planning and delivery of Plantlife’s media strategy to raise awareness, engage stakeholders and drive support for our cause.

This role will support our campaigning activity in the UK and internationally and will be one of Plantlife key external voices, playing a pivotal role in shaping our key messages. Working across the organisation and with colleagues leading our conservation, advocacy, and partnerships work you will keep abreast of key organisational activities and create opportunities for media and campaigning.

We are offering the role as hybrid or home based. We have offices in Salisbury or Retford. There will be an expectation of some travel to attend monthly team meetings

This role sits within the Development team, a sub-team of Philanthropy, at Alzheimer’s Society and plays a vital role in the success of our Insurance United Against Dementia campaign. Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) is a senior volunteer led industry initiative which has raised an incredible £9million to date. We have ambitious plans to reach an initial £10million target within the next 12-months and to take the campaign into a second phase to achieve further impact.

Since the campaign launched in September 2017, we have seen significant success, raising awareness of dementia and the profile of Alzheimer’s Society and IUAD across the industry through corporate partnerships, philanthropy, industry events and owned activities. 

We are looking for an individual who matches the ambition of the team and our industry supporter, someone with a personable style that can take ownership of the events fundraising stream and communication plans for the IUAD campaign. 

The post holder offers unique opportunities to take responsibility for key initiatives, such as our flagship fundraising event, the Insurance Day for Dementia. The successful candidate will also lead on the securing, development, and delivery of activity within industry events and fundraising events led by industry supporters. 

The role also leads key supporter and industry communications which help to celebrate successes and impact, while also growing awareness and engagement. This multi-faceted role will also support activations and exciting events, which are secured through our other development board and campaign, Sport United Against Dementia.

About the role

This new role within the newly formed Brand and Marketing Communications team will play a key role in our in-house creative studio, creating engaging and inspiring content. The successful candidate will develop creative concepts and bring them to life through innovative and inclusive design across multiple channels.

You will join our growing Brand and Marketing Communications team and work collaboratively with our in-house brand and digital teams as well as the wider organisation.

Most importantly you’ll champion our work and raise the voices of children, young people and their families living with cancer to ensure they get the support they need.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Purpose:

WomenMATTA delivers support services to women in Manchester and Trafford who are in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with, the criminal justice system. This includes one to one advice, advocacy, practical and emotional support, and group interventions.

This position will provide strategic oversight and operational management to all WomenMATTA services delivered through hubs across multiple sites in Manchester and Trafford, ensuring quality standards are consistently met, staff are effectively managed, partnerships are established and maintained, and budgets are appropriately managed.

Key Responsibility Areas:

1. Lead on the operational management and strategic oversight of WomenMATTA; ensuring high quality, trauma informed, and gender responsive services are delivered to vulnerable and marginalized women in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with, the criminal justice system.

We are seeking a Fundraiser with a background in lead and income generation with the drive to create change for farmed animals in the UK. You will be part of a small, high-impact team specialising in consumer education and political advocacy to help us grow our supporter base and raise essential income to support our work for animals.

As Fundraiser (Lead Generator), you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by identifying and cultivating potential donors and supporters. Your primary responsibilities will be to generate leads utilising Engaging Networks on social media platforms and work with the Fundraising Development Manager to build on supporter journeys that maximise conversion rates.

We’re looking for an experienced project officer with a passion for working with communities, to inspire and support people to discover, explore and take community-led action for nature in Greater Manchester. This role will work closely with established partners and existing RSPB local groups and volunteers, including the Greater Manchester Swift Champions, to develop new opportunities to work with community groups, focusing on supporting creating new habitats for swifts, one of the UK’s most threatened species. You will explore opportunities for working more closely with young people, with the aspiration to establish two RSPB youth groups in Greater Manchester and a Swift Youth Action Group focused on 16 – 24-year-olds. You will identify where the RSPB can best support and enhance nature, with guidance from local conservation staff.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead front-line delivery of RSPB’s community engagement work at a local level, inspiring people to connect with nature through an 18-month programme of events and activities. Central to this will be recruitment and management of a network of volunteers. The Project Officer will be responsible for developing and running a rolling programme of training to enable volunteers to develop skills to allow them to continue to support nature-based initiatives. 

You will have experience of delivering community projects, events and experience of volunteer recruitment, induction and management, and the ability to motivate volunteers to independently deliver organisational objectives. The confidence to make decisions that enable the continued delivery of key objectives and to keep the project on track is crucial, as is the ability to communicate these decisions, where applicable, with stakeholders and partners.

Specific tasks:

• To lead our community engagement work in Greater Manchester, inspiring local communities to take action for nature, ensuring work is resilient and sustainable beyond the life of the project.
• To build a full picture of local environmental networks and the range of nature recovery and environmental work taking place locally, identifying opportunities to develop new partnerships.
• Act as an advocate for nature recovery within a diverse range of sectors including local government and private businesses to further our support for nature.
• Build links and strengthen existing relationships with RSPB Local Groups and other volunteer-led work taking place in urban green spaces, liaising closely with partners.
• To lead and continue to grow the Greater Manchester Swift Champion network of volunteers with the support of the Species Volunteer Network (SVN), which will allow us to do more for Swifts within local communities.
• Identify opportunities for youth involvement in establishing a Swift Champions Youth Action Group and two new RSPB Youth Groups, working closely with relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver a series of volunteer recruitment, induction, and training days to increase numbers of new active volunteers within Manchester as well as building resilience and upskilling existing volunteers.
• Develop and deliver an 18-month programme of diverse nature-based events and activities (with a focus on Swifts including the installation of Swift boxes and/or bricks).
• To embed evaluation measures and provide regular reports to show impact across Greater Manchester.

Our Practitioner Led Assessment Service is the entry point for our beneficiaries seeking support from the Charity. Our Assessment Practitioners work in partnership with our beneficiaries to identify goals, individual needs and appropriate solutions.

The team provide advice, information and support and work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to ensure our beneficiaries are offered the right support at the right time.
