Overview
At Young Roots, we want to see a compassionate and welcoming society for young refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. We work alongside young people seeking safety in the UK, building trusted relationships, providing practical and emotional support and promoting young people’s rights and power.
Our youth clubs and casework are transformative for young refugees, allowing young people who have fled danger, had traumatic journeys and who are often here alone, to find community and connection, have a space to be a young person and access support in addressing a whole range of practical challenges they face. We also draw on our evidence from working every day with young refugees and asylum seekers to call for change to the laws and policies which are harming young people.
The Youth Development Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of our youth development programme for young refugees and asylum seekers.
You will be focused on ensuring our programme activities achieve our outcomes, are in line with our strategy and identify areas for change and development under the direction of the Head of Services. An excellent communicator and skilled at working with partners, you will be key in the implementation and running all of our weekly youth activities, including a Youth Club and Advice and Support Hub working closely with the Youth Development Worker and having oversight of our weekly Young Women’s group.
As an experienced manager, you will lead our team of skilled youth workers, working alongside the Brent team to provide holistic support to young asylum seekers and refugees in Brent.
You will prioritise the participation of young people in all activities, ensuring excellent safeguarding by following our policy and protocols, and ensure that we collect excellent data for monitoring and evaluation and to aid our future planning. You will also assist with staff and volunteer recruitment and reporting to our funding partners.
The Youth Development Coordinator will hold a Designated Safeguarding Officer role at Young Roots for which they will receive full training.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Overview
•Support the Supporter Retention Manger (Loyalty) to design and deliver MAP’s individual giving retention strategy. Including bespoke welcome and ongoing multi-channel supporter journeys, for UK and international supporters
•Support the Supporter Retention Manger (Loyalty) to review individual giving retention activities and supporter journeys – developing a strategic approach and annual planning with a focus on regular giving and growing life time value

Campaign Management
•Work with the Supporter Retention Manager (Loyalty) to optimise MAP’s regular giving programme and supporter journeys across Individual Giving, through a variety of online and offline channels
•Support and project manage income and retention campaigns to our warm audiences to maximise income and loyalty. Including but not limited to: data segmentation, scheduling, feedback management, agency liaison, results monitoring and end of campaign analysis

Role and Responsibilities
Housing and Service Delivery
• Provide strong and effective support to residents in Acorn House that focuses on their strengths and goals, and is delivered in a personalised way and within a framework of active engagement and co-production
• Developing and reviewing support plans that reflect the interests and aspirations of residents
• Induct new residents in line with the service’s policies and procedures and support them to continue in their journey towards recovery from addiction
• Carry out assessments of those referred to Acorn House, and induct new residents
• Ensure the fundamental needs of residents are met including good quality accommodation and facilities, healthy food, advice and guidance around benefits, and alcohol and drug testing (to help maintain an abstinent environment)

The Bridge Youth Project, in partnership with St Paul’s Church, is creating a brand-new role — Third Space Youth Lead — to develop meaningful, faith-rooted connections with young people outside the classroom. You’ll pioneer creative, relational, community-based youth engagement that brings Christian hope and presence into the everyday spaces young people inhabit.
Across Salisbury’s schools, something sacred is unfolding. Through the ministry of chaplaincy, young people are not only encountering the Christian story—they’re engaging with it. There is a growing openness, a hunger to go deeper, and in some, a readiness to own and articulate faith. Yet for many, those germinating seeds have nowhere to grow. There’s no natural community to nurture belief, no clear bridge between their experience in school and a life of ongoing discipleship. The result? What should be a comma, sadly becomes a full stop.
This role exists to change that.
The Third Space Youth Lead is a unique partnership between The Bridge Youth Project and St Paul’s Church, Salisbury, bringing together two missional contexts with one unified purpose: to help young people move from curiosity to commitment, and from early encounters with faith into meaningful, sustained discipleship.
Half of this role is embedded at St Paul’s, leading a vibrant and growing youth ministry for young people aged 11–18, offering regular gatherings, discipleship pathways, mentoring, and opportunities for leadership. The other half leads our new Third Space ministry, working in close collaboration with Bridge Chaplains to create invitational, community-rooted spaces beyond school and church walls, spaces where young people can belong, explore, and grow in their faith journey.
This is more than running a youth group. It’s about shaping a new paradigm, where school-based chaplaincy, church-based discipleship, and community-rooted mission meet. It’s about crafting a culture that reflects the full journey of faith: from fun and connection, to invitational exploration, to life-changing commitment to Jesus.

Your work will also support best practice delivered as part of the Public Engagement in Data Research Initiative (PEDRI), a vital UK-wide multi-stakeholder initiative that aims to facilitate a sector wide shift focused on establishing and advancing good practices for public involvement and engagement (PIE) with data-driven research and statistics.
You will work closely with public members, research and NHS communities, internal colleagues, charity partners, and funders to develop and implement plans for patient and public involvement and engagement.

- Undertake and manage specific involvement and engagement activities, including but not limited to focus groups, engagement events, developing and undertaking surveys, supporting the writing of plain English summaries of projects and their outputs. - Collaborate with the Senior PPIE Programme Delivery Manager, the PPIE Central team, and the HDR UK’s Institute-Wide PPIE Leads Group to lead public outreach initiatives and other events, ensuring that stakeholders are afforded opportunities to contribute their input and provide feedback. At West London Synagogue (WLS), we have made a commitment to helping London’s most vulnerable residents regardless of faith and background. This is achieved through delivering direct services to those who need it most. We have identified asylum seekers and refugees as the core communities in which we can have an impact.
We work closely with Westminster City Council, as well as local and national organisations to identify where our resources can be best focused, where we can bring added value, and where our teams of volunteers can make a meaningful impact.
We run 2 drop-ins each month. Our Family drop-in welcomes families with children and of all faiths and ethnic origins who are seeking asylum in the UK. We rely on volunteers to help provide a hot meal, grocery vouchers, toiletries, companionship, and advice for families who have fled life-threatening violence or persecution in their countries of origin.
As well, as our Family drop-in, we run the monthly 'Rainbow' Group.LGBTQI+ asylum seekers in the UK face the same challenges that most asylum seekers face in the UK. In addition, they face further challenges since their sexual orientation WLS opens its doors once a month to provide a safe space for LGBTQI+ asylum seekers to feel a warm community welcome, to build community together, and to receive vital support whilst living in poverty awaiting a decision on their asylum application.
