Training and Education Lead

Position: Training and Education Lead: Parental Cover (8 months)

Salary: £19,000 for 8 months (pro rated from £28.5k)

About the role:

This role is for an events person who can support our training and development courses. These courses are delivered either face-to-face or hybrid and are often delivered by a team of the organisation’s members. We use tools such as WebEx, MS Teams and Slido to support the delivery. There is an agreed schedule for the rest of 2024 for our public (open) training plus some bespoke, in-house training to be agreed upon with clients. There will also be additional in-house training to be secured for the remainder of 2024 and the first part of 2025.

The role holder will work within our professional development team, headed up by the director of professional development. They will report directly to the director and work alongside other team members to deliver an effective apprenticeship programme.

Our working pattern is hybrid, with attendance in the office expected for three days per week, including every Wednesday. You may also be expected to attend events across the UK and overseas.

Key responsibilities include:

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet the agreed requirements and budget, liaising with the DPD as required.
• Organise and attend volunteer Working Party meetings as required.
• Working with the volunteers, external suppliers and DPD, ensure all requirements are clearly defined, appropriate and in place for the course to be delivered.
• Liaise with suppliers and contributors to deliver and sign off the online activity.
• Work with the DPD and others to identify potential speakers.
• Support the DPD to negotiate and agree contracts with speakers.
• Work with clients and speakers to agree on delivery dates.
• Process bookings via iMIS, including sending confirmations to delegates.
• Respond to queries from potential delegates and their employers.
• Support current delegates with queries on their programme and progress.
• Work with the DPD and Financial Controller to put together the draft budget for specific events, bursary scheme, or online development activities.
• Supply up-to-date information on the bursary holder’s progress and course uptake to inform budgetary, marketing, and other management decisions.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need experience managing events (face to face and hybrid) including liaising with speakers and managing the technology. You will be able to work with colleagues to identify and contact potential speakers. You will also be able to manage the budget for the course delivery. To be successful at the organisation, you will need to be able to work in a small team, be flexible in accommodating changing priorities and thrive in an ever-changing environment.

You will also bring with you the following skills and experience:

• A qualification or experience in event management including online and bespoke courses.
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to multitask.
• Excellent oral and written English.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills including record-keeping and attention to detail.
• Excellent Customer Service skills.

• Basic financial awareness and understanding for example working to a budget and controlling costs.
• General IT skills including MS Office (e.g. Word mail merges and Excel reporting).
• An aptitude to learn new software/portals and experience with customer databases such as iMIS, webinars and eLearning platforms will be an advantage.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Purpose:

WomenMATTA delivers support services to women in Manchester and Trafford who are in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with, the criminal justice system. This includes one to one advice, advocacy, practical and emotional support, and group interventions.

This position will provide strategic oversight and operational management to all WomenMATTA services delivered through hubs across multiple sites in Manchester and Trafford, ensuring quality standards are consistently met, staff are effectively managed, partnerships are established and maintained, and budgets are appropriately managed.

Main objectives of the role:

• To work with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement a fundraising strategy for Beacon Counselling that increases income and support for the charity in furtherance of Beacon’s charitable objectives.

This role is an opportunity for a Paralegal to join a large in-house legal team and work on a broad range of matters. It will specifically involve supporting the Agreements, Information and Disputes (AID) team within legal services, consisting of five lawyers.

The successful candidate will be required to work across areas of law including but not limited to information law, contracts, intellectual property, procurement, subsidy and state aid, insolvency, recoveries and public law. In addition to providing research, drafting and general support to the Fund’s lawyers, it is expected that the Paralegal will handle matters under supervision and use legal knowledge to improve the Fund’s internal processes and precedents.

The bulk of the Paralegal’s workload will consist of legal support work however the candidate will also be expected to perform some administrative tasks and cover for the team’s administrative officer when required.

Experience working in a fast paced in-house or private practice environment would be ideal with legal research and IT literacy an advantage. Knowledge of insolvency and debt recovery would be desirable.

Job Summary

The Haringey Community Collaborative Manager is responsible for leading the development of the VCS Capacity Building strategy and the effective co-ordination of the Community Collaborative team which includes a Communications and Engagement Officer, a Workplace Development Manager, and a Capacity Building Manager.

We envisage the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager performing at either a primarily operational level or, for a more experienced candidate, at both operational and strategic levels. The salary range reflects this, with the upper end of the salary range reserved for candidates who can demonstrate an ability to deliver at both the operational and strategic levels.

Operationally, the postholder will have specific management responsibility for co-developing priorities for local VCS funding and capacity building, as well as the Volunteer Centre and wider VCS community of practice. Strategically, the role would include a wider contribution to the strategic management and development of Public Voice, supporting the CEO as required. Haringey Migrant Support Centre is a community-based organisation, with over a decade of experience supporting migrants in Haringey and neighbouring boroughs.  We provide free and professional advice, casework, referrals and signposting on issues relating to immigration, housing and welfare. We also have a Community wellbeing space and advocate for change through policy and campaigns work. HMSC has a staff team of 9 people. We are supported by a team of 40 volunteers.

We are looking for an Operations Coordinator to lead on all aspects of the smooth running of the office, financial and organisational administration and premises management as well as taking a key role in our external communications.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a small, busy organisation, and must be confident taking a lead on their own work. You will be part of a committed and friendly team, with the opportunity to develop new skills, contribute to the organisation’s direction, and gain a thorough understanding of HMSC and the wider sector. This role will suit someone who is very well organised and values the importance of excellent administration and process management in underpinning the success of a people-facing community team. You will work at the heart of the organisation, and across different teams, to play a pivotal role in ensuring HMSC is able to assist hundreds of migrants approaching the service every year.

The Role:

The successful Training lead will head our “Rise for Change” domestic abuse training programme and have the exciting opportunity to continue to grow the programme’s success to date. Rise for Change is a trauma informed domestic abuse training programme for non-specialist professionals. Uniquely created by our subject matter experts, our training directly addresses the need for intersectional and trauma informed domestic abuse training for professionals in all sectors. Our aim is to empower participants, no matter their professional role, to be able to respond safely and appropriately to domestic abuse both within the workplace and in the wider scope of their lives.

The role will be responsible for the delivery and upkeep of our current training packages, development of further training  and the management of current/ new stakeholder relationships. This role will also serve as a subject matter expert on domestic abuse across our global digital programmes.

This is what the Training Lead will do at Hope After Harm:

• Work in line with our values.
• Deliver remote training to professionals, organisations and businesses (some flexibility may be required for limited ad-hoc in-person training).
• Upkeep current training packages and development key content as required.
• Complete needs analysis of the sector and ensure our packages remain in line with need and best practice.
• Maintain new and established relationships with key partners and stakeholders through regular meetings, problem-solving and support to ensure the longevity of relationships and continuous buy-in.
• Engaging with organisations and stakeholders to gain their custom, establish needs and tailor packages/delivery to suit their needs.
• Develop and co-ordinate communications through various channels such as social media, Linked-in and event sites to gain custom.
• Maintain accurate recording and reporting of training/project delivery, including a training delivery calendar, CRM and all administrative processes and wrap around support.
• Providing ongoing advice and support to organisations in receipt of training and obtaining/responding to feedback. 
• Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the training will be delivered and recognise the needs and concerns of a diverse range of clients ensuring the service is accessible to all.
• Respect and uphold the value and necessity of intersectionality within domestic abuse and sexual violence prevention and safeguarding, across all areas of work.
• Alongside the Digital Programmes Manager, be responsible for ensuring ongoing income generation from client buy in and single ticket sessions.
• Maintain our current CPD accreditation and standards required within current/ new training packages and their delivery.
• Ensure delivery of agreed KPI’s.

This is what you will bring as the Training Lead at Hope After Harm:

• A thorough understanding of domestic abuse and gender-based violence through a trauma informed and intersectional lens, including the impact and mitigation of vicarious trauma.
• An experienced, highly skilled trainer with the ability to engage people through remote and in-person delivery.
• Hold a “Train the Trainer” qualification or be willing to obtain one during onboarding.
• Have a good understanding of the nuances of culture, race, sexual orientation and gender identity within domestic abuse and sexual violence, and be committed to intersectional ways of working.
• Knowledge of adult learning techniques.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
• Plans and prioritises work effectively, with the ability to manage projects and multiple deadlines
• Motivate individuals and agencies to move through courses of action and decision-making processes.
• Independent worker who takes responsibility for own workload and takes initiative to gain additional opportunities for the programme.
• A kind and compassionate person, who understands the importance of participant safety and well-being as a part of training delivery.
• Places the survivor at the centre of all that you do.
• Skilled user of technology with high literacy of key presenting programmes, video platforms and databases.
• Experience of using Canva as presentation platform.
• Knowledge and previous experience of using CRM’s, such as hubspot, to track client engagement.
• Experience in driving and implementing marketing/advertising strategies
• Strong reporting skills in quantitative and qualitative forms.
• An understanding and experience of CPD accreditation is desirable.
